Tomorrow was Michael's sixteenth birthday and Emma had gone out and gotten him a nice cake. She had gotten it from a baker and had 'Happy birthday Michael!' Written on it with icing. It was a chocolate ice cream cake, which was Michael's favorite. So when she told (Y/n) he couldn't have any of the cake and he could have some tomorrow, he had agreed and promised he wouldn't touch it.

When everyone went to bed, the cake was still uneaten and sitting in the refrigerator. As they all slept, (Y/n) had woken up for a midnight snack. He went down to the kitchen searching for something to eat. He had been craving sugar, so he was trying to find some. He came across an uneaten ice cream cake and decided to have some for his snack without thinking.

The next morning on November fourth, Emma went downstairs to make some chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast since Michael always has chocolate chip pancakes on his birthday. When she opened the fridge, the first thing she noticed was most of the cake was eaten. She immediately knew who did it, because (Y/n) often came down for midnight snacks.

"(Y/n) (L/n)! Did you eat that cake?!" Emma shouted, waking him up. "What cake?" He asked, still groggy from waking up. "Michael's birthday cake! I told you not to touch it! You promised you wouldn't touch that cake!" She whisper yelled, remembering Michael was still asleep. "Um..." He stuttered, trying to think of a way to get out of this. "I told you not to eat it and you could have some tomorrow. That was his birthday cake. Get up, go buy another. It has to be a ice cream cake. I had that specially made and everything! That was the one cake he wanted. Don't think you are having any of this one today either. Go find a new one!" She instructed, tossing him a pair of clothes.

And so, while Emma made breakfast (Y/n) was out trying to find another ice cream cake. He did feel bad for eating the cake, but he had forgotten it was for Michael's birthday. That being said, he tried his best to find the perfect ice cream cake for his son's sixteenth birthday. He also picked up some of Michael's favorite candies as well, just as a little extra gift.

When he had found the perfect one, he had bought it and drove home quick so it didn't melt. When he arrived back home, Michael's pancakes were out on the table and Emma was nowhere to be seen. She was probably waking him up, or looking through old photo albums. She looked through them quite often, but especially on his birthday because he's growing up too fast in her opinion.

He placed the cake in the fridge and sat down on the couch. Michael walked down the stairs five minutes later, still in his pajamas, and Emma was right behind him. "Happy birthday!" (Y/n) cheered, and Michael smiled. "Thank you." He mumbled, still tired from the night before.

He quickly got some energy once he saw the pancakes on the table, and all three of them ate breakfast. They spent his birthday at a LA Lakers basketball game since that's all he really wanted to do. He had gotten season tickets when the basketball season started, and he had gone to every home game.

Emma had taken lots of pictures at the game, wanting to capture every moment of his birthday. A lot of selfies of her and Michael were taken, and a lot of photos of (Y/n) and Michael were taken as well. Most of them would be put on her Facebook account, but she did post one photo of the basketball game on her Instagram.

Once the game was over, they went back home and changed before going out for dinner. Michael had wanted to go to a sushi restaurant for dinner, so that's what they were doing. They had a variety of different sushi's, and of course a lot of pictures were taken, and then went home to have some ice cream cake.

"Thank you. This was awesome. This is one of my favorite birthdays." Michael thanked his parents, talking about the whole day in general. Emma gave him a hug and kissed the top of his head, giving him a slice of cake. Emma and Michael ate the cake, (Y/n) claiming he was too full from dinner and couldn't possibly eat the cake, even though that wasn't the real reason. Both parents had decided not to tell Michael this wasn't his original cake and (Y/n) ate the first one.

After watching a few movies Michael had gotten tired and decided to go to bed, saying goodnight to his parents and going to bed. "You can have some of the cake now." Emma told (Y/n), and he rushed to the fridge to have some of the ice cream cake.

After (Y/n) had a slice, Emma went upstairs to look at family photo albums from when Michael was a baby up until now. She was currently in the process of making a new one, and was going to get a few pictures printed from their day today.

The two went to bed soon after, ending one of their best days there. Michael really did have one of the best birthdays ever, and (Y/n) was just happy he got to have some of the cake, and it was a really good cake.
