(Y/n) had already met Emma's parents and they got along really well and accepted him into the family right away, but now it was Emma's turn to meet (Y/n)'s parents. Currently the two lovers were standing outside of the restaurant, and Emma was too nervous to go inside.
"Are you sure we have to meet your parents today? We could always reschedule and just go another day." Emma asked, very nervous to be meeting her beloved boyfriends parents. "Em, it'll be alright. They'll love you! They've heard about you and they already love you, so this won't change anything. You're just gonna meet them in person. Although me and my mum have a weird relationship but she should be fine." (Y/n) reassured her, placing a kiss on her forehead before the two connected their hands and walked inside the restaurant.
(Y/n) found his parents sitting in a booth in the corner of the restaurant and led Emma over to them. Both of his parents stood up to greet the two, both parents giving (Y/n) a hug. "Mum, dad, this is my girlfriend Emma. Emma, this is my mum and dad." (Y/n) introduced them, and watched his girlfriend interact with his parents. "Hi, I'm Emma. It's nice to meet you both, (Y/n) talks about you a lot." Emma introduced herself, going to shake his mother's hand but was pulled in for a hug instead.
"No need for the formalities, (Y/n) is always talking about you and how he's going to marry you one day!" (Y/n)'s mum told her, the couples eyes going wide. "Mum!" (Y/n) groaned, trying to get her to not embarrass him. "What? It's true, you always say that each time you talk about her! Maybe one day you'll have the guts to actually do it." His mum brushed it off and sat back down, letting Emma greet his father next.
"Nice to meet you. I'm (Y/n)'s father, and he does talk about you a lot, so it's nice to finally meet you." His father greeted her, shaking her hand. "Great! Now that's everyone's met let's sit down and eat!" (Y/n) announced, sitting down and patting the seat next to him, motioning for Emma to sit there.
"So how long have you two been together?" (Y/n)'s mum asked. "Three years." Emma answered, earning a shocked look from his mum. "Really (Y/n)? Three years and we're just meeting her now?" His mum scolded, and he just looked down. "We both were busy and just never really had time until now." He tried to tell her, but she was having none of that. "You had enough time to move in together but not have dinner with us for one night to introduce your girlfriend?" She continued, and he rolled his eyes. Emma and his dad were both just watching, but she did intertwine her and (Y/n)'s hands as a comfort thing. "Well you're meeting her now!" (Y/n) ended the fight there, and lucky for him the waiter had shown up to take their orders.
They asked Emma a few questions about herself, but (Y/n)'s mum was still a bit angry. "So Emma, your an actress?" She asked, and Emma nodded. "Yes, I've been acting since I was ten years old." She shared. "And have you been in any projects recently? I know (Y/n) hasn't." His mum asked again, and shot her son a glare. "For your information mother, I finished filming last year and am currently trying to book a new one." He interrupted, and Emma nodded. "Well he's right. He did just finish a movie and he's auditioning for a new one. He's shown me the script." Emma stood up for her boyfriend.
His mum just rolled her eyes at them and continued to eat her dinner. "You know, I never wanted (Y/n) to become an actor, but he did it anyway and now he's considered the family disappointment. He'll only drag you down Emma." His mum blurted out, shocking everyone at the table. "How could you even say that about your own son?! He's dedicated his entire life to his career and he makes so many people happy! And he does not drag me down! He supports me no matter what and encourages what I want to do! He's treated me perfectly and I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend because quite frankly he's perfect for me! And you can't change anything or tell me otherwise!" Emma shouted, taking everyone aback. "And for the record, I've done everything to please you over the past few years and I'm done trying. I'm done with this, and I'm done with you. I don't want to see you ever again." (Y/n) told his mum, getting up and leaving with Emma following behind.
While (Y/n) was grumbling profanities under his breath Emma was trying to catch up to him. "(Y/n)!" She called out, getting his attention. He waited for her to catch up and she pulled him into a quick hug and then a long kiss.
Once they pulled apart, Emma was about to start her speech but was cut off by (Y/n) continuing to walk down the sidewalk and mutter profanities under his breath again.
"(Y/n)! Listen to me!" Emma called out, and he turned around. "What? That could not have gone worse!" He told her, and she nodded. "I know that, but you don't need to let her get under your skin." She continued. "Under my skin?! She called me the family disappointment!" He interrupted. "I know! But what I was saying is you shouldn't let that bother you, after all you have many fans who would think otherwise and you're like the nicest person in your entire family. You aren't a disappointment. And you shouldn't let yourself believe it either." She announced, and (Y/n) nodded. "Yeah, you're right. Thanks Em." He smiled at her, and then connected their lips in another kiss.
(Had to put some tea in here for you all!)
