(Y/n) and Michael were out at the zoo for the day while Emma was at home resting since she had needed some alone time. She was currently reading comments on her new Instagram post, and while most of them were nice comments, there were a few mean ones. She tried not to let them get to her and just focus on the nice ones, but the mean ones kept swirling through her mind and she eventually couldn't take it anymore.

While she was upstairs (Y/n) and Michael had just gotten home. Michael went upstairs to play with his toys in his room before he heard someone crying. He grabbed his Spider-Man blanket and his favorite stuffed animal and made his way to his parents room, opening the door to see his mother sitting on the bed with tears streaming down her cheeks.

Emma didn't notice Michael enter the room until she heard him. "Mummy? Why are you crying? Are you sad?" He asked before climbing up on the bed. "No, mummy isn't sad." She answered and shut her phone off, while attempting to dry her tears. "Than why are you crying?" He asked, and she didn't know how to answer. "Because...mummy is both sad and happy." She answered, and she wasn't lying. She was happy that a lot of people supported her but also sad because of the hate.

"Then why are you crying?" He asked. "Because mummy doesn't want to be sad, she only wants to be happy" She answered. "Oh. I don't want you to be sad." He mumbled, and she nodded. "Thank you, that's very nice." She told him before he spoke again, this time holding up his stuffed animal.

"You can have my kitty cat. He makes everyone happy. He's still mine, but we can share until you're not sad." Michael told her, handing her the stuffed cat which was the very same one she bought him before he was born. "Thank you baby. You're very kind. It's good to share." She smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Michael nestled into her side and gave her a hug, Emma returning the hug and giving him a kiss on his forehead.

Michael told her all about his day at the zoo with his father, and he even got to see the penguins for more than twenty minutes. "And I got to have chocolate ice cream too!" He told his mother, who made a shocked face. "You did? You got to have chocolate ice cream?" She asked, and he nodded while giggling. "Yeah!" He exclaimed before continuing with his summary.

By the end of his recap, he was nearly asleep. Emma rubbed his back softly before his breathing evened out and he was officially asleep. Emma carefully got up and put the Spider-Man blanket over her son and putting the stuffed toy next to him before going downstairs to see (Y/n) on the couch watching Tv. "You've been crying, I can tell. Why?" He asked after taking one look at her and seeing the dry tear streaks. "Social media, hate comments, the usual." She responded before sitting down next to him and grabbing her book. "I told you, you need a break. Just get off social media for a few months." He advised her, and she nodded. "I might." She agreed.

"Where's Michael? It's too quiet." (Y/n) asked, making Emma giggle. "He's asleep. He found me crying and gave me his kitty cat, then told me all about his day before he fell asleep." Emma shared, and the two adults spent the rest of Michael's nap time cuddling and watching Tv.

The next week, Emma officially took a break from social media, announcing her account as dormant. Everyone had started rumors that she was quitting acting, and she was considering it. In the end she decided not to because she still wanted to be an actress, just not now since she wanted to spend time with Michael and (Y/n) before their son started preschool next year. Maybe once he was in school she could get back into it, but she wasn't quite sure yet. For now she had her manager shut those rumors down for her and didn't take one look at social media.

(Y/n) was still very active on social media and posted on Instagram regularly, but he never posted photos of Emma once she announced her break. He continued to post about random things he did and occasionally a picture of him and Michael, his sons face not visible in the photo due to Emma's rules about Michael on social media.

The rule was that Michael's face wasn't allowed on social media since she wanted him to have a private life, and so he wasn't subjected to the hate comments that would be shared.

Emma's mental health had gotten significantly better over time without social media, and decided to have her manager run it for her if she ever did decide to go back. Her social media break was very good for her, and she was glad she decided to get off of it.
