Michael was having one of his tennis matches, and (Y/n) and Emma were going to watch. (Y/n) was one of those people who coached from the sidelines, and Emma already knew he was going to make Michael nervous.
His match started, and he had been doing alright, until (Y/n) butt in. "Use the middle of your racket and not the top half!" He advised, and Emma just rolled her eyes. "You are going to make him nervous." She whispered.
After another missed serve, (Y/n) decided to put in another word of advice, being stopped by Emma. "Don't you dare say another word. You are making him nervous. He knows what he is doing, and he doesn't need your advice." Emma whispered harshly, making (Y/n) shut up.
"Hi Michael! You're doing great sweetheart!" Emma cheered, seeing Michael glancing at them curiously, him seeing the whole interaction that happened previously. He smiled at his mother and went back to his game, but he still didn't improve.
The first set had just ended, and he had lost. He had another chance to win this next one and tie it, but he didn't think he could. "Michael!" Emma exclaimed, motioning for him to come over. He walked over to his parents and Emma gave him a hug.
"You can do this. You know what you're doing, all you need it to just shake off your nerves. We're both here cheering you on, and even if you lose we will still be proud of you. I know you can do this, so go out there and win it!" She told him, giving him a side hug and pressing a kiss on the top of his head. "Alright. Cool." He nodded, and went back to his spot on the court.
When he got back on the court, he had improved. He was much more focused and was able to tie the game. After most of a tiebreaker set, the score was 9-7 in Michael's favor. He only needed one more point to win. He took the serve, and it had just went in, but the opponent hadn't ran fast enough and missed the ball, Michael winning the point.
The game had ended, Michael winning. (Y/n) still wanted to give Michael advice for the future matches, but Emma refused to let him give Michael any sort of advice about sports. After packing up his stuff, Michael made his way to his parents.
"You were amazing! I told you that you could do it! I'm so proud of you!" Emma cheered, connecting him in a tight hug. He hugged her back and (Y/n) joined in as well. They shared a family group hug before leaving the park and going to get celebratory ice cream and pizza.
