The Watsons had gotten ready for dinner and walked over to the house next door. Inside the house, (Y/n)'s mum was getting ready for dinner, and his dad was setting the table.

"I think everything is ready!" His mum cheered just as the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" (Y/n) shouted, walking to the door. "Hello. Come inside. Mums just finished making dinner." He greeted the Watsons. Everyone came inside and (Y/n) led them into the kitchen.

"Hello! Glad you could make it!" (Y/n)'s mum exclaimed, shaking hands with the people she hadn't met yet. "Nice to see you again." (Y/n) mumbled to Emma, and she nodded. "Yeah. Nice to see you again as well." She whispered, their hands brushing against each other's. Both of their cheeks turned pink, but luckily nobody noticed.

They all sat down for dinner and Emma sat next to (Y/n). The parents just talked about neighborhood things and Emma and (Y/n) were in their own world.

Their dinner was spent sneaking glances at each other and their hands brushing against each other's under the table. At one point, (Y/n) intertwined their hands when they brushed against each other's. That had both of them blushing like crazy.

"Look at them. They're definitely going to get married one day." Jaqueline commented to (Y/n)'s mum. "I hope they do. Emma is a sweet girl." She responded. "(Y/n) is a very nice boy, I think they would be cute together." Jaqueline reasoned, and the parents nodded.

Once dinner was over, (Y/n)'s mum was cleaning up. "(Y/n)! Why don't you go show Emma your room?" She told him, and he nodded. "Right this way. It's upstairs." (Y/n) led, and the climbed up the stairs and walked down the hallway. "Here it is." He announced, opening the door.

Emma looked around, making herself comfortable on his desk chair. "Oh! You can see my room from here!" She said, pointing to her empty room. "Cool!" He cheered, and the two sat around and talked about anything and everything for hours.

Eventually Emma had to leave and go back home, but their rooms were right across from each other's, so they could easily communicate that way.

"Thank you for dinner!" Emma thanked, walking downstairs. "Goodbye Emma! It was wonderful meeting you!" His mum told her, and she nodded. "It was wonderful meeting you as well." She agreed. Her parents had already left, and (Y/n)'s mum went back into the kitchen, leaving the two of them alone.

"Goodbye (Y/n), I'll talk to you later." She whispered, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. "Goodbye...talk to you later." He mumbled, his eyes wide and his hand touching where her lips had previously been on his cheek. She giggled at him before leaving, smiling to herself.

(Y/n) and Emma's mums were right, they definitely were going to get married one day.
