Emma was away on her press tour for Beauty and the Beast, while (Y/n) was taking care of Michael at home. It had been pretty easy and everything had been going well until one night.

Tonight (Y/n) was trying to put Michael to bed, but he didn't want to go to sleep. "Come on Michael, you have to go to sleep." (Y/n) tried, and Michael shook his head. "No sleep." He shook his head, and (Y/n) groaned. "Why not? I'll read you a story, how about that?" He offered, and Michael still shook his head. "No sleep. Stay up." He mumbled. "You can't stay up, you need your rest." (Y/n) told him, and Michael just shook his head again.

(Y/n) spent the next few minutes with the lights off pacing back and forth with Michael in his arms, trying to lull him into slumber. That didn't work, and he was still wide awake. "Blankie." Michael mumbled, reaching for the blanket with different animals all over it that Emma had gave him before she left inside of the crib.

"You want the blanket?" (Y/n) asked, and Michael nodded. (Y/n) got the blanket for him, and Michael held it tightly, wanting anything that reminded him of his mother. Michael glanced around the room, his eyes landing on a photo of him and his mother, and that's when it clicked.

"You want your mummy don't you?" (Y/n) realized, finally putting everything together. Michael nodded. "Want mama." Michael mumbled. "If I get mummy will you go to sleep?" He asked, and Michael nodded. So, (Y/n) got out his phone and dialed Emma's number. "Hi (Y/n)!" Emma greeted once she answered the phone.

"Hi! Michael wants to talk to you, he refuses to go to sleep without you." He shared, and Emma smiled even though (Y/n) didn't see it. "Im in an interview right now, just give me one second." She told him, and (Y/n) heard her excuse herself from her interview.

"Alright. I'm going to facetime you guys. I'll call you back in a second." She shared and hung up the phone, a FaceTime call popping up seconds after.

"Michael, you wanna talk to mummy?" (Y/n) asked, and the boy nodded. "Hi Michael!" Emma waved through the camera, Michael's face lighting up once he saw his mother. "Mama!" He exclaimed sleepily, seeing her on the phone. "Are you having trouble falling asleep?" She asked, and he nodded.

"Well you have to go to sleep Michael, and if you don't go to sleep you won't be able to play with all your toys tomorrow." She told him, and he shook his head. "No sleep." He objected. "Why not?" She asked. "Mama not here." He responded, and she realized what was going on. He wanted her to come back home and put him to sleep. "Mama's right here, and I wont hang up until you fall asleep, okay?" She offered, and he nodded.

(Y/n) put Michael inside the crib and put the blanket over him, the boy still holding onto the phone but also grabbing his stuffed animal as well. "Story." He mumbled, the sleep catching up to him. "Okay, let me tell you a fun story from mama's interview." She started, and (Y/n) turned on the nightlight while Emma told Michael all about her interviews, the boy soon falling asleep.

"He's asleep." (Y/n) whispered, picking the phone up. "Goodnight Michael! I love you!" She whispered, before (Y/n) left the room. "Okay, I'll let you go back to your interview. Call me after?" He asked, and she nodded. "Of course. Love you!" She waved goodbye. "Love you!" He repeated and hung up the phone.

Emma walked back into her interview, sitting back down in her chair. "Is everything alright?" Dan Stevens asked, noticing she had been gone for a little bit.

"Everything's fine. Michael didn't want to go to sleep and wanted me, so I stayed on the phone and told him different stories from interviews until he fell asleep." Emma explained, making everyone aww.

"That's so cute!" The interviewer gushed, making Emma smile. "He's a cutie, also a total mummy's boy but I don't mind that. I'm surprised he's lasted this long without me, normally he hates being away from me." She shared, smiling at the thought. "Your bond is so adorable!" The interviewer continued, and she nodded.

"We're the cutest mother son duo! He's lucky I come back home tomorrow." She agreed. They went back to talking about the movie quickly, and everything was fine for the night.
