Since the lockdown had lasted into the summer holidays, Michael had finished his sophomore year online and now was stuck inside the house all summer as well.(Y/n) had gotten an Xbox over the lockdown to keep him and Michael entertained, which was used much more now that Michael was out of school.
Books weren't their thing, no matter how many times Emma had gotten extra copies of her books and made them read with her for her book club, and video games weren't Emma's thing either, she spent most of her time working on her feminist campaign things.
Both (Y/n) and Michael had gotten very competitive with each other when they played FIFA, so much that they would start screaming at each other. They normally were just fine after the game and acted like nothing happened, but when they played they both got competitive.
Today however, Emma had an interview online. "Boys, I need you two to either be quiet when you play, or don't play it at all. I have an important interview and I don't want you two screaming so loud that they can hear it." Emma told them sternly, both boys nodding. "Okay mum. We'll be quiet." Michael assured. "Yep. You won't even know we're here. Have fun at your interview!" (Y/n) told her, and she walked upstairs to her office.
They both decided to play FIFA, but they just had to be quiet. "I call dibs on Madrid team!" Michael told him, (Y/n) rolling his eyes. "Fine, but you're still going to lose." (Y/n) told his son, who shook his head. They were about to start fighting, but Michael had to remind his father that they had to be quiet."Mum will kill us if we're too loud, remember?" (Y/n) nodded and they continued to start their game. Michael had actually been pretty good at this game and managed to score within the first five minutes. "NO! WHY IS THIS GUY SO SLOW! RUN FASTER DAMMIT!" (Y/n) shouted.
Emma was in the middle of answering aquestion about her new campaign when she heard a faint 'run faster dammit!' that sounded like (Y/n). The interviewer didn't seem to notice, so Emma kept going as if she didn't hear anything. As her interview went on, the boys did a pretty good job at keeping quiet. She only heard the occasional shouting coming from (Y/n) and Michael, but the interviewer didn't hear anything.
Once Emma had finished her interview, she went downstairs to see Michael winning. "YOU ARE SO CHEATING!" (Y/n) accused, after Michael had gotten past all of (Y/n)'s players."I AM NOT! YOUR TEAM JUST SUCKS!" Michael shouted, (Y/n) trying to get the ball from Michael's team. Emma sat by the kitchen counter with her tea, watching them play from behind. (Y/n) was losing so badly that he had to stoop so low as to trying to take Michael's controller. "NO! GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY CONTROLLER!" Michael yelled, moving away from his father. (Y/n) managed to score a goal, but that only made the score five-one, Michael still winning.
"Your team is on drugs or something! They can't be that fast!" (Y/n) complained, Michael just smirking."You know they're better than yours. Your just jealous." Michael told him, Emma watching the whole scene unfold, amused at her husband and son. The game ended, six-two, Michael winning. "I win! Nice try dad. I'm just the master of this game. Better luck next time.." Michael smiled and patting his dads shoulder, (Y/n) giving him an unamused look. "You cheated and you know it." (Y/n) muttered. "NoI didn't! Mum! You saw it! Did I cheat?" Michael asked, knowing she would takehis side.
Even if he did cheat she still would've, she had a certain soft spot for him when it came to these things. "(Y/n), he didn't cheat. You just pickedthe wrong team." Emma informed, (Y/n) rolling his eyes. "I'm going to win next time." He hummed, ruffling his son's hair. "Sure you will. Keep telling yourself that."
(I know nothing about this game so my bad if it's wrong)
