Emma was reading on the couch when Michael came into the living room. He saw his mother reading her book and ran back upstairs before coming back down a second later with a book of his own.
He sat down next to her and opened his book, but it was upside down. Emma noticed him trying to read his book upside down and helped him by flipping it over and smiling at him.
The two read their different books on the couch, and (Y/n) took a picture of them and captioned it 'Just some mother and son bonding time' before posting in on Instagram. After Michael read his book, he put it down and waited for Emma to finish.
Once Emma finished her book, she put hers down. "What was your book about?" Michael asked her. She had to think about what to say for a minute because her book wasn't the most child friendly, meaning he wouldn't necessarily understand it.
"It was about women who go on a run with wolves." She explained. In reality the book she was reading was called the women who run with the wolves so technically she was giving her four year old son the description based on the title of the book. "What did you read?" Emma asked, and he held up the cover of his book.
While he was holding up the book and smiling, Emma smiled for the camera with her book and took a quick selfie of them with their books and posted it to her private Facebook with the caption 'Reading books with Michael! He really loves to read with his mummy!'
"It's if you give a mouse a cookie! A boy gives a mouse a cookie and then he asks for milk!" Michael told her, making a shocked face. "Really? Why would he need milk?" Emma asked him, also making a shocked face. She had already read this book to Michael many times since it was one of his bedtime stories, but she went along with it and pretended she never heard about it.
"He needs milk to drink silly! Mummy you have to listen." Michael told her and giggled, making Emma giggle as well. "And then what happens?" Emma questioned, letting him talk about the book. "Then the mouse asks for scissors to cut his hair! And then he asks for a broom to clean up his hair, and then he asks to take a nap because he's very tired! He's a very silly mouse." Michael continued, and Emma nodded along and hummed to show she was listening. "He is very silly isnt he?" Emma responded, and Michael nodded. "Yeah! And after that he wants to read a story! And draw a picture and put it on the fridge! And then he gets thirsty so the mouse needs more milk and then asks for a cookie again!" Michael finished his explanation, his summary way more in depth than Emma's.
"Was it a fun story?" She asked, and he nodded. "Yeah! But now I have to go play! So we can meet again tomorrow!" He instructed and ran off to his room, leaving Emma behind who was chuckling at her sons exit. She saw Michael's head poke out from the hallway, expecting her to follow after him. Emma let out another chuckle and followed Michael upstairs to his room.
Once they got there Michael started to play with his Spider-Man toys, handing Emma one to play with. (Y/n) came in the room soon after and they all started to play together, Michael ending up asleep on (Y/n)'s lap, who was sitting on the rocking chair and both of them ended up taking an afternoon nap.
Emma took a picture of the two of them asleep and posted it on her Facebook with the caption 'Book club really tired him out. Afternoon naps with dad are the perfect way to spend the day!' Before turning off the lights and leaving the room, letting the two boys sleep in peace.
