Emma was coming back from her press tour tonight, and Michael insisted on staying up until she got back. (Y/n) knew he should probably go to bed, but he was so excited his mother was coming home that he had let him stay up but he had to go to bed right after.
Currently, the two were watching Spider-man on tv, Michael playing with his cars as well. "Is mummy almost here?" He asked, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. If she didn't get here quickly he would probably fall asleep in the next five minutes. "She's in the car driving home." (Y/n) told him, making Michael perk up. He ran out of the room, going over by the door and waiting for her. In reality, he had gone to the wrong door, and he was waiting at the back door instead of the front door.
Around twenty minutes later, Michael heard the door unlock and open. "Mummy!" He shouted, running to the front door. (Y/n) walked to the front door to see Michael hugging his mother, Emma bent down to his level and had her arms wrapped around him.
"Hi baby!" She cooed, picking him up, Michael still keeping his arms wrapped around her. Her and (Y/n) shared a kiss, pulling apart fairly quickly since Michael was still holding onto her. Both of them were more than ready to go to bed, and Michael was close to falling asleep. "I missed you." He mumbled into the crook of her neck, only holding onto her tighter. "I missed you too baby. Now, I think you need to go to bed." She whispered, peppering kisses all over his face. "I'm not tired.." He groaned through a yawn, trying to stay up even later so he could be with his mother. "I think you are, it's very late. How about this, I'll read you a story and you can stay in my bed." She offered, and he nodded.
Michael was already in his favorite Spider-Man pajamas Emma had got for him before she left, and she took him upstairs. She changed into her pajamas quickly while Michael went to go pick out a book. He had chosen his favorite one, which of course was a picture book about Spider-Man. "Are you sure you want to read this one?" She asked, because normally he changed his mind halfway through, but he never changed his mind about reading this one. "This ones Spider-Man. We have to read Spider-Man." He nodded, and so they sat on her bed together, Michael cuddled into her side, and she read him his favorite bedtime story.
Michael fell asleep in a few minutes, and (Y/n) got in bed a couple minutes later. The family spent the night cuddling with each other, Michael practically glued to Emma's side, even in his sleep.
He really did miss her. She had missed him as well, much more than he would ever know. Emma had missed her family, and she didn't want to leave for that long ever again.
The next day, they spent the entire day together. They had a pool day, Michael making both of his parents swim with him, and they all had the best day, and it was even better now that Emma was back.
