Today Emma had a big conference to attend, and this would greatly impact her feminism campaigns. However, when she woke up this morning and went to go check on Michael before she left, she had found out he was sick.
"(Y/n)!" Emma called out, soothing Michael at the same time. (Y/n) entered the room to see Michael and Emma, and she was clearly stressed out. "What's going on?" He asked, seeing Emma patting Michael's back and whispering soothing things to the boy. "He's sick. I have my conference, but I can't leave him." Emma explained, and (Y/n) nodded.
"You can't skip that conference. You've worked so hard on it! You can't miss it! This is going to skyrocket your campaign! Everything you've worked so hard on and all of your goals are finally going to happen and become a reality if you go to the conference." He told her, and she scoffed. "I could care less about my career! My career means nothing compared to my family. We have more than enough money, and I could always go take another role instead if we needed money. My baby is sick and I refuse to leave him!" Emma shared, handing Michael to (Y/n) and grabbing her phone before leaving the bedroom.
She decided to call her manager to tell him she couldn't be at the conference. "Hi. Listen I can't go to that conference today." Emma told him. "Emma, you have to go. It's going to ruin your career if you don't. People are expecting to see you there! If you're not there all of this time, money and effort has been put in for nothing." Her manager yelled, and Emma started to get mad.
"You listen to me! My son is sick and miserable! I don't care about my career or this conference compared to my family! My son is much more important to me than my career and he will always be my number one priority. I understand my career is important as well but nothing will be more important than my family! I'm not going to that conference and instead taking care of my sick baby!" She scolded him and hung up the phone, leaving no room for debate.
Emma walked back into Michael's room and took the boy from her husbands arms and shutting off her phone. "Are you not going? To the conference?" (Y/n) asked, watching Emma attempt to soothe Michael. "Nope. I'm staying here with Michael, I'm not leaving him when he's sick." She explained. "Alright then." He shrugged and left the room, leaving Emma and Michael by themselves.
Michael was still a bit out of it and clinging to Emma, while she just held him close and rubbed his back, hoping to calm him down or provide any sort of comfort.
After a few hours Michael had finally gone to sleep and was taking a nap when (Y/n) turned on the Tv, seeing Emma's conference that she wasn't at pop up. "Emma! Your conference is on!" He called out to her. "I just got Michael to go to sleep! Be quiet please!" She whisper yelled, sitting next to him and watching the conference.
"Unfortunately, we have received word that one of our speakers is unable to attend due to a family issue. Emma Watson will not be speaking today, we are very sorry for the inconvenience." The host announced to the viewers, and many people groaned.
However, after her manager released why she wasn't there and repeated what she said about how her family will always be above her career, the fans started to give her some praise for putting her family above her career. The fans had thought Emma being with her son who was sick was much better than being at a conference and stressing out about how Michael was feeling most of the time.
In the end, Emma's career hadn't been ruined but had only suffered a minor setback. Her manager had calmed down after hearing her career was still successful. Michael had recovered quickly was back to his normal self within twenty four hours, and the family celebrated by playing with him all day when he was better.
