(I'm sorry in advance but be prepared for your heart to be broken cause the person who requested this wanted it as sad as possible.)

Emma had gone out for the night with her friends while (Y/n) had gone out to dinner with his family.

Emma had drank a bit too much and was completely drunk, and someone was kind enough to take her home. "You know you kinda look like my boyfriend (Y/n)! He's so nice, and he's funny, and really hot..." She slurred to the guy, who only nodded. "Good thing that's me then." The guy told her, and he certainly wasn't (Y/n).

Once she got inside the house, the man kissed her. She kissed back, but it didn't feel right. He looked like (Y/n), and he said he was (Y/n)? She didn't think he was, but she kept going anyway because he did tell her that he was her boyfriend. The spark she usually felt when she kissed (Y/n) wasn't there so she knew it wasn't him, but she kept going because it still felt good, even if it wasn't her boyfriend.

"You're not (Y/n)..." she mumbled, and the guy nodded before she kissed him again. She let herself keep kissing the man who was not her boyfriend, getting lost in the feeling.

"What the hell?" (Y/n) shouted, seeing Emma and the guy making out on their couch. Emma looked up to see him staring at her in shock, which only made her more confused and a bit scared.

"(Y/n)?" She asked, unsure if it was him. "Yeah, it's me. Your boyfriend last time I checked." He stated, no emotion in his voice. His eyes described his emotions, a mix of angry and hurt. "Who are you?" The guy asked, looking up at (Y/n).

"Who are you! That's my girlfriend! Well not anymore but she was!" (Y/n) shouted, his heart breaking at the very sentence. "No, you don't mean that." Emma whispered. "I very much do mean that! Whoever you are, get out of my house!" He yelled, the last part directed to the man, and he left.

"I thought he was you...I swear!" Emma pleaded, (Y/n) rolling his eyes. "He looks nothing like me! How could you mistake him for me?" He asked, and she stuttered. "See? You don't even know! You threw away three years just like that, for him?!" He kept going, Emma growing more and more guilty with each sentence (Y/n) spoke. "I don't want any of these excuses you have planned, so just get out." He finished. "What?" Emma asked, not thinking straight after his long rant.

"You heard me, leave. Get out. I want nothing to do with you anymore. I don't get it, what was that for? Why did you ruin everything we had for that? You ruined it all, just for some random guy? What did I do wrong? Why wasn't I enough for you?" He told her, his voice breaking halfway through.

"You are enough for me! I love you! I thought he was you. He brought me home and said he was you. I love you and only you, and I don't know why I believed him, but I knew he wasn't you after he kissed me." Emma told him, realizing even though it was true for the first few minutes, it didn't sound believable. (Y/n) was right, the man looked nothing like him. She didn't know why she kept going if she knew it wasn't him, but it was too late now. "And you kept going until you got caught huh? Just go, please." (Y/n) sighed.

So, she left the house with no other word. She drove to her friends house and spent the night there, wallowing in self pity and regret while (Y/n) did the same, but only regretting how he wasn't enough for Emma and she had to have someone she didn't know make her feel better.

They both spent their night in sadness, but they both had to move on eventually. They couldn't focus on the past, because they were over now and they would never get back together. Instead they could only focus on their future, one where the other person wasn't in it and never would be.
