I headed down the stairs with my final packed bag,it is the middle of the night and I am leaving my home and the love of my life. Why you ask would I leave if my life is happy,my family is falling apart back where I grew up and I'm heading home to help out. My dad has just died,my mum has become withdrawn from the world and my sister is to busy with her waste of space boyfriend.

I headed down into the crisp night air,got into the waiting taxi and left my life far behind.

Edward's P.O.V

I awoke the next morning to find my girlfriend not beside me. I searched the house from top to bottom,but couldn't fine her anywhere. All her things have gone,my Y/n had left me and gave no explanation. Am I the cause of this,is there another person,i just can't understand why she left.

Time skip five years. Y/n P.O.V

Five years have passed since that night I left my Edward behind, I haven't seen him since and probably never will again. It is Christmas time and the holidays used to be my favorite time of the year,now it just serves as a reminder to what I used to have. I walk around the shops watching the families together and the happy couples thinking 'that could have been me'.

I decided to head home without buying anything, its not like I had anyone to shop for. My mum died of a broken heart not long after my dad died and my sister was killed in a car by her boyfriend who at the time was drunk.

I walk along the streets as the snow came down from the grey sky above,the few people around hurried past me to get to there destination faster. I however didn't bother there's no point. Going home to a place that is cold and empty, I'm so deep in my thoughts that I bump into someone
"Sorry" I says as I carry on walking
"Y/n" I turn back to the man"Is it really you?"I move closer to him and see that its my former boyfriend Edward Rattchet.

"Edward" I say shocked "I didn't realize it was you"
"How have you been?" Edward asks
"I've been better,what about you?" I ask in return
"Well I got up one morning five years ago and found that my girlfriend had left me,and not said why" Edward says,I look down feeling guilty
"I'm sorry Edward, I should have told you" I say quietly.

"I'm not angry anymore Y/n" Edward says "I was for a long time,but no longer"
"This is all my fault,I ruined our relationship" I say
"Why don't you come home and we can talk about this?" Edward asks.

I follow Edward back to our home,well Edward's home. I take off my coat and sit down on the sofa once inside,as Edward makes us both warm drinks. The room isn't decorated for Christmas
"I guess I owe you an explanation" I tell him
"I would like one yes" Edward says,so I tell him my story.

How my father died and I went home to help my mother and my sister went off the rails
"Mum died not long after Dad, I stayed to help (sisters name) but she died when he boyfriend drove there car drunk" I explained
"At least you had a good reason to leave" Edward says.

"Did you think I left you for another person?" I ask him
"It had crossed my mind" Edward admits
"I love you to much for that" I say
"Then why didn't you tell me about your family, I could have helped" Edward asks,I couldn't answer that. If I love him like I say,I should have told him.

"I didn't mean to hurt you Edward, I..." I begin
"Forget about why you left,just stay with me please" Edward asks taking my hands into his
"Why would you want me back?"I ask him
"Well neither of us said it was over,so you're still my girlfriend" Edward says.

"That is true" I admit "Do you still love me?" I ask looking into Edward's eyes
"I never stopped loving you Y/n,you're my soulmate" Edward tells me
"I never stopped loving you either"
"Then stay with me forever?" Edward asks
"I'll stay" I lean forward and give Edward a gentle kiss on the lips, looks like Christmas will be my favorite time of year again.
