Grian and Mumbo were some of the richest students at the college.

Sure they didn't flash it around everyone, and were pretty generous to some of their friends, but people knew they were next in line for large multimillion dollar companies.

Grian rested his head on the table as he tried to get sleep.

His insomnia was horrid right now.

"You okay?" Xisuma asked setting his lunch bag on the table.

"Yeah. Just hate myself right now."

"Don't you always hate yourself?" Impulse asked eating his peanutbutter and elderberry jam sandwich. (Elderberry jam is the best in my opinion.)

"I will break your hand." Grian said, flipping off Impulse.

"Oh-" The pair said.

"Are you gonna go get melatonin?" Impulse asked.

"Yeah. After my next class." Grian said, raising his head. "I really hope it works this time."

"Yeah, me too. Having to deal with you with horrid insomnia, is basically you at the crack of dawn without any coffee in 2,000 miles." Mumbo said, sitting down next to him.

"Wait, Grian's not a morning person?" Xisuma asked. "Damn, I learn something new every day."

"Grian is far from a morning person. I'm suprised he hasn't stabbed me yet." Mumbo said.

"Don't tempt me." Grian said glaring at Mumbo.

The group talked about random things, and Grian's phone went off.

He looked confused as he saw his father's work number.

Answering it, he got up and walked away from his friends for a bit.

"Yeah dad?" Grian asked.

"Your coming to a corporate party on the 26th."

"Okay? And?"

"You have to bring someone from your school, and not that Jumbo boy."

"Okay-"

His father hung up on him before he could finish.

He rolled his eyes before walking back to his friends.

"Hey, Mumbo. Most likely your dad's gonna call you to say your going to a corporate party on the 26th. God I hate corporate parties." Grian said, sitting down at the table.

"A corporate party? But you two aren't in the companies?" Impulse asked.

"We're expected to go for publicity as possible CEOs of the companies." Mumbo explained.

The realization sparked in their eyes.

"Atleast we'll get to see Scar and Iskall again." Grian said. "I can't wait to mess with Iskall."

"I get that you don't want to harm Scar and all, but what the fuck? You literally mess with everyone, but Scar." Mumbo said.

"Oh no, I do. Just not as bad." Grian said.

"You two might be the new CEOs of your father's companies." Impulse said.

They nodded slightly confused.

"Why are you guys in a random college hours away from your company's headquarters?" Xisuma asked.

"Oh. I'm here because this is where my mom came from. She has family here still, and I wanted to kill two birds with one stone." Grian said smiling to them.

"And I'm here because my uncle lives here with my cousins. Basically the same reasons." Mumbo said, shrugging.

The two nodded.

...

Grian took Impulse as his invitee and Mumbo had taken Xisuma. It was pretty funny considering both had never been to a corporate event ever. Then came them meeting Scar and Iskall.

Scar was in a normal suit, much to his visible dismay, along with his hat being replaced by its tiny tiny version. Iskall wore a simple suit, though it had a green tie instead of the normal red.

"Hello Mr. Time and Mr. Anderson, how are you both?" Grian greeted.

"Ah, Mr. Watson, welcome to the party. I'm doing fine." Mr. Time greeted. "How about you, Mr. Anderson?"

"I'm great." Mr. Anderson greeted.

"...Grian? Who are these...?" Impulse asked, quietly.

That caused the three to laugh.

"I'm Scar," Mr. Time said, "and this is Iskall."

Iskall smiled to Impulse, before adding onto the information.

"Grian is our childhood friend from whatever private school we went to. I don't entirely remember." Iskall said, shrugging.

Grian left Impulse with them, because his father called for him. He walked with his father to his office.

"May I-" Grian asked.

"You weren't asked a question, so don't speak." His father snapped. "Your coming back and going to train to take over the company."

"Father-"

"Shut the fuck up. You will also be marrying Mr. Stevens daughter to fulfill the business agreement."

"But-" Grian was cut off by a slap.

"God, I never should've allowed you to go away! You just never listen and have forgotten that you aren't allowed to talk unless your allowed to!" His father yelled. "You will do this! Or so help me god, your gone. You will cut off contact with everyone you know, and will stay with us or you will be cut off and thrown out."

Grian was terrified.

He loved his mother, and knew that he would never be able to see her ir her family again if he didn't. Mumbo's family would do nothing as they were only business partners with Grian's family, they didn't care. Mumbo would, but there was nothing he could do. Along with Xisuma and Impulse. Scar and Iskall couldn't do anything, as their parents businesses would be thrown away if they even attempted anything.

Grian swallowed the lump in his throat and nodded to his father.

...

Grian stood at the corporate party with a blank look on his face. He stood near his father, with Grian's face and neck being a very pale shade.

Mumbo walked up to him, and tried to speak to Grian, only for Grian to look at his father and ignore Mumbo. Mumbo saw the glare from Grian's father, and the way Grian posture straightened because of it. That was one of the many things that made Mumbo's stomach drop.

And there was nothing he could do.

Everytime he saw Grian, Grian was just getting worse and worse. His skin was almost always pale, and he kept getting skinnier and skinnier.

Up until the news of his wife's pregnancy came out to everyone. Grian waited until his child was born before he left. He exposed the family for abuse, and the company's ties with the mafia and fraud.

...

Grian knocked on the door hesitantly as he held the baby girl. Her name was Luna, and he loved her. The door opened and he smiled weakly to his uncle. Sam Eclipse Xeqlua. He had his mother's maiden name.

"Come in." He said, and Grian nodded while walking into the house. His uncle, who was his mom's brother, was the father figure to him during his childhood, and he didn't know who else to go to.

His uncle said nothing but led him to a bedroom. He got some blankets out, and placed them on the bed before hugging Grian. Grian felt the tears swell up in his eyes, and smiled to his uncle when he pulled away.

"Your welcome here. You can stay however long you want. I can get supplies for the little one." Sam said, smiling to him. Grian nodded and looked down to Luna. "You should get some rest."
