Of the many people on the server, Grian was behind most of the shenanigans, and yet no one knew anything about him. They never even knew where his base was.
...
Grian gathered the diamonds to place in the barrel hidden under the enderchest. He wasn't seen that much at the barge, so Doc didn't know if it was Grian's shop. So he decided to ask.
"Hey Grian-" Doc asked, scaring Grian.
Grian jumped and looked at Doc scared. He rubbed his face as he calmed down.
"Hey Doc." Grian said waving to Doc.
"You okay?" Doc asked.
"Yeah. Wasn't expecting anyone to be here." Grian explained, placing the diamonds into the barrel. "Do you need something? I can stock more things if you'd like."
"So the barge is yours." Doc said.
Grian nodded, though waiting.
"I just was confused." Doc said, before walking away.
He stopped at the door.
"Hey, can I see your base? I don't think anyone knows what it is or where it is." Doc asked, turning to look at him.
Grian seemed confused, and weighed the options. If he didn't, he wouldn't have to look at the back of his base still. But he risked never telling people about his base. He sighed but smiled to Doc.
"Sure." Grian said, happily.
Doc was suprised, but happily followed Grian to his base.
They travelled through the nether for about 30 minutes, chatting about shenanigans they'd pulled. Eventually they reached Grian's portal.
It was well decorated, which Doc wasn't too suprised because of the decor Grian put into his buildings. Then they walked through the portal, and Doc saw why Grian was almost never seen.
There was a giant mansion with houses and villages littering the foreground. Doc was amazed and Grian wondered why Doc was looking at the village.
Grian shrugged and walked down the path through the main part of the village. Doc looked around in amazement, while Grian just continued walking. Grian showed Doc the mansion, and smiled proudly as Doc jokingly mentioned the concrete that came from the button. Grian smiled, but walked into the base.
"Usually I fly." Grian said, gesturing to the open area within his base.
"Actually, how good are you at flying?" Doc asked. "Your an amazing builder, and I've never really seen you fly."
Grian felt pride swell up in him as he thought about his flying.
"For someone who literally had no clue how to fly in season 6? I'm one of the best fliers I know." Grian said, happily.
They talked for a while, before Doc asked a specific question.
"Has anyone been to your base besides me?" Doc asked.
"Oh... you know... When Zedaph and I swapped bases... And Mumbo, but Mumbo doesn't really count."
Why does Mumbo not count?
...
"Hey Zedaph, what did you think of Grian's base?" Doc asked.
Doc, Tango, Zedaph, Mumbo, and Impulse were at an unofficial Redstoner meeting.
"Oh, it was cool. Kinda weird having to get to and from his base though." Zedaph said, shrugging. "Have you seen it? Its amazing."
"I have, he kept falling in lava and had to ask me to save him throughout the beginning of the server." Mumbo complained. "Though it was really cool to help him through feedback."
"You guys have been to Grian's base?" Tango asked. "What's it like?"
"Mix of a mansion and a city scape?" Mumbo said.
"Oh I really want to visit it now!" Impulse said.
"I mean, you can. But no secret bases, I dont even know how you tricked me into thinking you were there." Grian said, falling from one of the tree branches.
"I was wondering when you'd stop spying on us." Mumbo said, leaving the other suprised hermits blankly staring.
"Sorry, sorry. Old habits die hard." Grian said.
"What???" Impulse asked.
"Inside joke." Grian said.
"How can there be an inside joke, if no one on Hermitcraft knew... you..." Impulse started.
"That's why you didn't count Mumbo." Doc said, on the same page as Impulse.
"How could either of you not say you were friends before Grian joined hermitcraft!?" Impulse asked.
"I thought everyone knew? I literally stea- stole from his base the most, and I was campaigning for Mumbo to be mayor."
"Yeah, without my knowledge too." Mumbo said. "Like the campaign, you stealing from my Redstone farms isn't as well hidden as you'd like."
Grian allowed people to visit his base, just as long as they didn't touch any Redstone. Mumbo and Scar demonstrated why. Scar pressed a button, and the machine malfunctioned. Kaboom goes Scar.
