Grian Oneshots

116 ~ The Vampire's Avian 2/3

Who needs some fluff?
Not me, I live off angst and get excited over heavy angsts that I haven't read before.

Grian's head injuries healed nicely, but he was attached to Mumbo at the hip. Even without memories, he still wanted to be with Mumbo. It made Cleo, Joe, Iskall, and Xisuma laugh, but also extremely happy. Mumbo was happy, and it was very visible.

An unseen cloud of sorrow and dread had been washed away by Grian. It was like the light returned to the world. With Grian's name literally meaning Sun, it made Joe happy that his analogies worked even better.

Grian was happy, even if a lot of things went over his head, he was just happy to be doing something other than what the 'Masters' made him do. He still called them that, but usually changed the subject.

Grian's wings were damaged a few years ago, by estimation by Joe, and he wouldn't be able to fly for years to come. Grian accepted this, though reluctantly.

Xisuma was facing a decision he'd faced many times before, but only gone through with 4 times. Hackers were attempting to break into Hermitcraft, and some were actually getting pretty close before Xisuma banned them.

To protect his dysfunctional family, he decided to go through with it. So he made the announcement, before going to talk with Grian.

Grian was pressing all of the buttons and pushing all of the levers he could, while Mumbo chased him laughing. Xisuma laughed as he saw Grian push a button. Obsidian surrounded the Avian, causing him to squeak in suprise.

Mumbo quickly placed obsidian over his head so he couldn't escape, before Grian joined Mumbo in laughter.

"Hey!" X said, walking to the two.

The two were still laughing but acknowledged that he was there.

"I don't think either of you have seen it yet, but we're moving to Season 6 so that hackers don't get in." Xisuma explained.

Mumbo began to get more and more nervous for what Xisuma was here to talk about. Xisuma smiled to Mumbo before turning to Grian, who was also nervous.

"I wanted to invite you to be apart of Hermitcraft. A new hermit." Xisuma offered.

Grian looked to Mumbo before Mumbo smiled to him.

"Of course! If you'd allow me to that is..." Grian said, smiling to the admin.

"Of course I would." Xisuma said. "The jump between the servers is going to be tomorrow at noon."

Mumbo nodded, before releasing Grian from his obsidian imprisonment. Grian hugged Xisuma before he could leave, and Xisuma hugged back.

Xisuma left the pair to get the server mainframe ready for a server jump. Now that he thought about it, had Grian ever been through a server portal awake?

Eh, he could ask later.

...

Grian stared at the portal, while Mumbo talked with him quietly.

Instead of the normal obsidian 4x6 nether portal, it was 8x10 and lined with quartz. The portal was like looking at the night sky, with pretty swirls of color, while the Nether portal was almost always just weird and purple.

Xisuma stood in front of the Hermits, and in between them and the portal. His helmet was off and he had Joe nearby. Joe was leaned against the portal smiling, while Xisuma was mostly terrified to actually make this speech without his helmet.

"While this season has been amazing, and I'm thankful to be your admin, I can't wait to see your builds, Mumbo's lag machines destroying the server, and our new Hermit getting along!" Xisuma said. "We've done this 4 time now, and I'm always told to make the speech short, so just don't kill anyone and try to have fun. Onward to Season 6!"

Most of the Hermits laughed at it, while Mumbo blushed red from embarrassment at the mention of his lag machines. Grian was trained on the portal behind the admin however.

Xisuma, Mumbo, and Grian were the last ones on the Season 5. Grian wasn't as nervous as he seemed, it's just he was trying to remember something.

"You okay, Grian?" Xisuma asked.

Grian looked over and smiled to him.

"Mumbo... This isn't the first time I've seen a portal like this, is it?"

Mumbo shook his head.

"I think it's time for both of you to know about Evo..."
