Immortal Grian.

~

Grian is, for the lack of a better word, weird. He's either super childish and pranks everyone, or super serious and focuses on things that need to get done. Sure the first side is out more around people, and the second is when he's building, gathering materials, or things like that, but it's still unnerving.

Grian waved to Mumbo as he passed him at the shopping district. He had a half eaten golden apple in his mouth, and from the soot, smoldering clothing, and shulker boxes, you could tell he had fallen into lava while gathering materials again.

"You okay?" Mumbo asked.

Grian nodded, and continued walking towards his barge. Grian was slightly frustrated, but thankful, that he'd restocked the barg 5 times in the week already, and it was only wednesday. He was supposed to be leaving tomorrow, and not returning for a week so people were buying in 'bulk'.

Grian placed the shulker boxes down at the center of his barge, before eating the rest of his apple. He quickly restocked the barge, and moved onto collecting the diamonds from the boxes. He placed them into the barrel under the lamp, before taking a look at his store.

This was somewhat easy, mostly because Grian had a hard time not working and being overly proactive. That's why his friends suggested, more liked forced, him to take the trip, but he didn't really know what to do if not work.

Grian thought for a moment about what he'd do. There was many things he'd put off, but most contained work and his friends would most likely kill him if he did work.

Maybe he could visit Evo or Rosan? Due to him not being allowed to be a workaholic, Evo was out of the question. He'd come back before a day there and just suppress emotions as he worked, so yeah no. Rosan was hidden away, and he'd wanted to go back for a while now.

Rosan, he decided.

...

He hesitated at the giant castle door. It was made out of pure stone, but it had many engravings along the large tree root engravings. The door was 75 feet tall,

Rosan was a civilization built upon magic and study into many different subjects, magic included of course. He had grown up here, so he knew it better than anyone else alive. Rosan was hidden inside a giant cliffside, with most of the Kingdom being inside the cliff behind this castle door.

He gathered his courage, before placing his hand against the door. Liquid gold slid down from the top of the door, filling the engravings with bright gold light and liquid metal. It was always a beautiful site.

He stepped back, as the gold reached his fingertips. The gold was enchanted to only stay in the engravings, and to not hurt anyone or anything.

Once the gold reached the bottom of the door, the gold started draining down into holes at the bottom of the doorway. A single layer of gold stayed in the engraving, and the rest disappeared into the drains.

The doors began to open, and Grian smiled as he began to walk through the large doorway. A bridge curved over a calmish river, with many different colored fish and coral. Large buildings of stone and deep slate spanned his sight, blue lanterns and mushrooms kept the large cavern eliminated.

Grian walked through the mostly destroyed cobblestone path, looking at the cracked buildings around him.

They were old. Really old. 3,000 years old to be exact.

The building to his right was a blacksmith's, and the left had a bakery. Both were abandoned, but still looked like what they were back then.

Fifteen minutes of walking, and he arrived to a gazebo with benches, and a simple engraving in the large tree with blue flowers. Though it was in a very old and forgotten language, it wasn't difficult for him to know what it meant. "Those who have fallen, will never fall in the minds who loved them."

Grian smiled softly as he read it. He walked towards one of the lower branches, and picked a small flower off the tree. He walked back over to the engraving, and knelt down. He placed the flower on one of the stone bricks, and looked to the old candles.

The candles were in glass-like material with engravings on them. One had a Pheonix and flames, one had a dragon, one had vines and flowers, and the last had a mountain scenery with suns and clouds. Grian closed his eyes for a moment.

Laughter erupted from the square, and people talked with eachother loudly from the square. Grian looked over to his left, to see a fruit stand and a little blonde haired girl bounding towards him. He smiled as the little girl tackle hugged him.

"Morning Grian." A taller brunette said looking down at the man.

"Good morning, Eli." Grian said, hugging the little girl. "Good morning Jasmine."

Jasmine looked up at him, before booping his nose and running away, laughing. Eli smiled, and waved to Grian, before chasing after his little sister.

Grian teared up as he opened his eyes and stood up. Those memories were far from his normal view. Those days were so calm and peaceful, not like the days that followed.

Grian turned and walked around the base of the tree to one of the archway of the gazebo, and exited it. Vines and flowers covered the gazebo walls, and flowers hung down from the archway, and Grian smiled as he walked down the path towards the abandoned main square.

Many run down booths laid in the square, most booths were back to back, and 12 feet between the front of each booths. Booths ran along the outside of the square.

Grian wandered to the empty part of the square and looked around.

For just a moment he saw groups of children piled around the candy booth, and most of the parents were talking with eachother or booth owners. He laughed as Rachel noticed Jason at the candy booth, and she literally had to chase him away from the candy booth.

"Jason!" He heard Rachel yell.

Grian smiled and turned to walk through the rest of the city. Before he could reach the edge of the plaza, he heard someone trip and fall. They grumbled and got back up. Grian turned around and looked at his friends. He sighed and smiled to himself.

"Yeah, the ground really isn't the best for walking on. Hasn't been for years." Grian said, placing his right hand on his waist.

"So... Your not mad?" Scar asked, brushing the dust off his clothing.

"No, I'm not mad. You guys could've just asked to come though." Grian said, smiling warmly to them. Impulse, Mumbo, and Scar stood in the plaza mostly confused.

"What is this place anyway?" Impulse asked. "It seems like it's been abandoned for over a thousand years."

"Actually almost three times that. This used to be one of the greatest kingdoms on earth, Rosan Empire. I lived here for a long time."

"Wow, you must have had a weird childhood if you grew up in a place this destroyed." Impulse said.

"Oh no. I was alive before it was destroyed. I am immortal after all." Grian said.

"I'm sorry, what!?" Scar and Impulse asked.

"Grian, you never mention your age let alone your immortal." Mumbo advised.

"Oh right-" Grian said, laughing.

"Grian's immortal? You didn't grow up together!?" Impulse said.

Once Grian stopped laughing and walked closer to them, he began explaining.

"I was born and turned 16 before 'the end of the world'. I survived because of a god who favored me and they turned me immortal. Because I was best friends with Mumbo, the god turned him immortal as well, though two years later as I was unsure if he had survived." Grian explained, smiling to them. "That was maybe millions and millions of years ago. And we got seperated maybe thirty thousand years ago. I lived in Rosan for almost its entire life and was well known as an immortal."

"How could you not mention this to us!?" Impulse asked.

"No one asked."
