~

The first death had been an accident.

Scar had fallen into the pit of zombies and wasn't able to get out. Grian had tried to help, but he didn't risk falling into the pit.

The second a mistake.

Scar and Grian should've known the others wouldn't keep TNT out. It was valuable and destructive.

The third, a failure.

Grian didn't know how Wardens worked. He shouldn't of been the one left down there. He failed at creating enough Chaos to satisfy the Watchers to let them out early.

Now, Grian stood in the black staring down at the black abyssal lake, in the shallow shore.

Scar stood near him, more confused then anything.

He honestly hadn't thought of the possibility of this occurring.

That Scar would see him for who he truly was.

A weak wizard whose spells was his downfall.

A Watcher who couldn't Watch.

A Player who couldn't Play.

Burn scars littered his now ashen gray skin, larger ones littering his arms and part of his face, and void black eyes with softly glowing stars in the space. Large black and purple wings spread out from his back, the feathered tips glowing white as they made contact with the watery shore. The ungodly amount of eyes littering his wings and arms were visible in the black mirror of the lake, and he hated it.

"...Grian?" Scar broke the silence.

Grian lowered his head as tears fell down his cheeks. His ears and wings drooped further, more feathers glowing white. With his back to Scar, the scarred man couldn't see the freckles that glowed softly in star patterns. Plenty of constellations littered his skin, faint lines of stars connecting the brighter stars.

"...Grian?" Scar asked. "What's going on?"

Grian laughed softly and shook his head.

"Welcome to The Watched Lake. The place all Fallen Watchers and the Banned Players come too when they experience a Permadeath on a limited life server or any death on infinite life servers." Grian laughed as he spoke. "We just have to wait until we respawn in Hermitcraft."

Scar pressed a hand to Grian's wing, and Grian flinched. His wings fluffed and his head snapped up in fear. Scar backed away and kept his hands in the air as Grian turned around in fear.

"I'm sorry- I just..." Scar looked at the freckles, causing Grian to surround himself in his wings, hiding the freckles. "...why are you hiding them...? They're beautiful."

Grian shivered and lowered his head. "...its... it's not me..."

"It's not you?" Scar asked confused.

"I'm not-" Grian blinked his tears away and his hands held the bottom of his sweater tightly. "I'm not a Watcher. I'm a player, always have been..."

"Alright?"

"I'm not the- I'm not a Watcher."

Scar smiled quietly to him as Grian stared down at himself.

The curve of his waist and hips, the gentle and smallness of his hands, the curve of his chest, and the gentle features of femininity on his face.

"...I'm not the girl they tried to make me..." Grian's voice was weak and quiet, but Scar heard him. The tears fell down his cheeks as his mind began criticizing his features.

Scar frowned at the words. He knew Grian was a man, but the Watchers tried to make him a girl?

Scar walked closer to Grian, and wrapped his arms around the winged man. He pulled Grian closer to him, and let Grian lower his wings before wrapping around them both. He held Grian as he sobbed.

"Hey, its alright. Your a man, not a girl. None of us want you to be a girl. Your a man, and we love you for it." Scar pressed a kiss into Grian's scalp, becoming confused at the hysterical sobbing from Grian. He was certain that it was helping, but Grian was still crying.

"...thank you..." Grian breathed out as his sobs and tears slowed down.

"Its alright. You're a Hermit, and my best friend. I love you for being you." Scar pressed more kisses into Grian's scalp. "The Chaotic Gremlin Man of Hermitcraft. The Pesky Bird who pranks everyone."

"You have no idea how happy this makes me." Grian laughed dryly, but kept his head tucked into the nook of Scar's neck and shoulder.

Scar made a confused hum to Grian. "What? What do you mean?"

Grian pressed his face further into Scar's collarbone, exhausted. He was exhausted emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Emotionally because he had let out all his bottled up emotions, Physically because of dealing with the Warden, Mentally from keeping his secrets and trying to keep himself from breaking down, and Spiritually because keeping his magic mask - that keeps his Watcher form hidden - up for months upon months was far too exhausting. It was exhausting to even keep the mask up for a day, let alone months.

"I'm Trans, Scar. Fem' to male." Grian said, pressing his face into the collarbone further.

Scar pulled Grian closer to him and smiling softly to him. "Thank you for trusting me. I love you, Little Man."

Grian's cheeks and pointed ears glowed a soft light gray as he blushed. Despite being paired with Scar for a month and some weeks, he wasn't used to the words. They seemed wrong, but oh so loved and needed. He loved it, and he would go back to Sam if it meant he could hear those words from Scar forever.

"...love you too..." Grian breathed out before clenching his eyes closed.

Scar's smile and happiness and adoration and love - oh and there was so much love for the winged boy. Enough that Grian knew the entire world would be washed away if he found a way to turn it all into a liquid. And he felt just as much love wanting to break free from his heart to flood the world, but not to destroy, to show how much he loved Scar back. To prove to Scar he was a perfect soulmate for him. To prove to Scar that doubts were not needed, as Scar was the only one for him. - were more then visible to him through the tight hug Scar pulled him into.

He smiled as his mind drifted softly into the black.

He knew he would hurt in the morning if he woke up alone in his bed on Hermitcraft, but he knew that Scar would be there with him the moment Scar woke.

He loved Scar.

Oh by Herobrine did he love Scar.

The Void itself would cower from their love.

He loved Scar.

There was no doubt in his mind that Scar loved him.

And he was finally happy.

He could let his fear of Scar's heart belonging to another die.

He could bury those feelings, because Scar would never.

Scar was loyal.

Scar was kind.

Scar was love itself.

Scar was perfectly imperfect.
