Grian didn't understand what happened. One moment he was messing with Big B, Zee, and Netty, and the next his mind felt foggy as his body felt like it was lead in water.

Then suddenly...

It was all gone.

The sound of the wind blowing through the trees, Big B and Netty's annoyed but affectionate laughter, Zee's mutters of disbelief...

The noise was gone.

But that wasn't the only thing gone.

The brush of his jacket against his thighs, and the tightness of his shorts. The link hat brushing against his forehead, and the feeling of his bare feet on the grass floor.

It was all gone.

His vision was weird too.

Instead of standing outside Netty's base, all he saw was a weird swirl of black, purple, red, and white. God it was so bright.

Too bright.

He closed his eyes to escape the brightness.

Then he heard it.

Two clear voices talking, but he couldn't make out the words.

Until...

"So, Hermitcraft?" The deeper voice said.

Then static again.

The static was so loud.

"...Grian's..."

Then everything went black.

...

Xisuma checked the player log to make sure everyone had made it to Season 6 that were supposed to be there. They really didn't want another situation like when Biffa had been left behind in season 3 for almost a month.

But his eyes widened when he saw the new name. A new hermit?

He was unaware of a hermit joining, but it wouldn't be the first time. Scar and Mumbo had been a suprise back when they joined.

"X." Cleo said, cutting into Xisuma's thoughts. Xisuma looked up to see her confused but concerned face.

"What's up?" Xisuma asked. He hoped no one had gotten hurt during the server jump.

"...X... Theres a dead being on the server..." Cleo said. "And not like, Zombies or the Drowned. Like Me, dead, but not..."

Xisuma's eyebrows furrowed. This new hermit was dead?

"Do you know where they are?"

Being dead gave some advantages, though Cleo would never express them. She was able to see and sense the undead, along with track them easier.

Cleo nodded and pointed down at teh sea floor. Xisuma stared at the sunken ship in suprise. The new hermit was that close to the shopping district?

"Do you think they would react best to you?" Xisuma asked.

"...No. It's not a zombie of someone, and the aura is much stronger then any other undead player I've met... Almost like yours..." Xisuma understood what Cleo meant. There were two options for someone's aura to be like Xisuma's. They were a Voidwalker or something like it, or an Admin.

If they were an admin and they were dead, god only knows what happened.

So he got ready to look for the new hermit.

...

Grian woke up with a mostly weightless feeling. The current around him wasn't harsh, despite the speed. In fact, it barely effected him.

He looked around and his eyes widened at the undead mob. He covered his face, ready for an attack, but it never came. Only a ticklish feeling.

He looked down and saw the zombie had swam away. Then the feeling spread through his chest.

A fish swam through him...

A FISH SWAM THROUGH HIM.

Grian began panicking and looked around.

He was underwater, but the crushing feeling of need to breath was gone. He sunk to the ground with a little bit more effort then he would like to admit. His feet became ticklish as they rested in the sandy floor of the ocean, but he became more weighted.

Grian looked around once more.

It was the new update, evident by the Drowned's, shipwreck, and the dolphins. It was suprising.

"Did I update jump?" Grian mumbled. "But I know nothing about this update and there wasn't a portal...?"

Grian shook himself from his thoughts when his communicator buzzed. It made some noises and he swam over to it. It landed on the bottom of the sea floor, and seemed like it had been there a while.

Checking it, he was suprised.

Almost 20 players joined.

But none were from Evo.

Some chats filled the communicators screen, before it buzzed and short circuited.

"Hey!" Grian yelled at his comms. "Unfair!"

Grian picked it up and looked around once more.

"...If it was an update jump I wouldn't be directly in the new place... or have water breathing." Grian mumbled.

He swam towards the sunken ship and found that he loved it. It was a little bit cramped, bythe could work with it.

"I should rebuild this in the Empire when I get back." He said.

He smiled as he set up an area to live in.

He sat on the cot and thought to himself.

"Okay, water breathing, new update, sudden update, and the zombie didn't notice me... Am I really that glitched?"

"No, your dead."

Grian jumped and looked at the man. He had turtle armor on, and his helmet was in his hand.

"What? That's impossible. Respawns are weird, but-"

"Just take a look at yourself."

With their instructions, Grian did. Though reluctantly.

His skin was semi transparent, and his clothes had changed.

"Most ghosts melt in water, so I'm suprised you haven't." They muttered.

"...I'm dead...?"

...

Xisuma brought Grian to Joe and Cleo, though Grian was trying to keep himself from panicking the entire way. Xisuma had an inkling that Grian didn't remember how or why he was dead. Once there, the ghost hid behind Xisuma slightly.

"...Uh... Hi. I'm Cleo." Grian heard.

"...Grian."

"I'm... I used to be human, but I'm a Zombie now. Much like you used to be a player and now are a Ghost."

"...Do you know how I died?"

"No... Sorry."
