Cristina, a new hermit, was trying to befriend Grian, Mumbo, Scar, and Ren. Ren was currently human because of an experiment from Doc, and who knew that would be part of the situation.
"So I sat down near this guy, and he started cussing me out without any reason. Hybrids are so rude." Cristina said.
Grian looked up to Cristina, glaring at her.
"Hey, watch it. That could be very offensive to some hermits." Grian said, turning to look at her face to face.
"Really? Hybrids murdered my family, so I feel justified to say the truth."
"Oh, so you wouldn't mind me grouping you up with, oh you know, the blood god?"
"What!? No! The blood god killed an entire empire! Theres no-"
"You both are human, and it's the same thing your doing." Grian explained. "Do you see how offensive it can be?"
"Its not the same!"
Grian was frustrated, and was currently not killing her because of Ren's soft smile to him.
"How is it not the same?" Grian asked, anger lacing his voice. "Hybrids have accepted me more than most humans I meet."
"Hybrids are blood thirsty and monsters from birth! Humans get turned into monsters!" Cristina yelled. "And you probably didn't deserve to be accepted!"
Doc and Tango turned to look at the group confused. Grian's vision turned red, and pulled his axe out of his inventory.
"How about I make you meet your family?" Grian threatened, his axe glowing from all of his enchantments. "Maybe you could also meet the hybrids who died for just being themselves?"
Cristina backed up, but got ready to throw insults at Grian.
"Grian. Let's go for a walk." Doc said.
Cristina glared at them, but Grian followed Doc towards the Nether portal. His axe returned to his inventory, but the rage was still there.
As they walked through the portal, Doc rested his hand on Grian's shoulder. The walked through, and Doc destroyed the portal.
"Afraid I'll actually kill her?" Grian asked, looking at the ground.
"No. I'm afraid you'll do something you'll regret."
"Yeah right. I wouldn't regret any of it."
"Grian. We both know that you would eventually regret it. Let her realize her mistake, by letting X take care of it. Your in the right, yes. But no one wants you to do anything brash." Doc said, leading Grian deeper and deeper into the Nether.
They stopped in a clearing of a Crimson forest.
"Can... Can I ask why you said that human's didn't accept you?" Doc asked, turning to look at Grian.
Grian looked up and tried to smile to Doc.
"The short version, is that I was abused, manipulated, murdered, and then revived. The way I was revived, stopped me from aging. I'm technically still 16. And then I was made a Watcher."
Doc blinked in suprise. Grian was the light of the server, sure he had his issues, but he'd never even thought that Grian went through all of that.
"...Doc...?" Grian asked, nervousness in his voice.
"Why would you not tell anyone?" Doc asked. "Did- Did we do anything to trigger you?"
"No-! No no no no. You guys didn't, and you guys are amazing. If it ever came up, I would've said something." Grian said, smiling reassuringly to Doc.
"But- What if we had?" Doc asked.
"Then I would've explained, and gone somewhere to deal with it. Nothing would've happened to the relationship, other than perhaps some caution." Grian said, walking to Doc.
"...Can-... Can I ask what triggers you...?" Doc asked.
"Bunnies, rabbits, and blood. Sometimes physical touch, but it's not as bad and has gotten a lot better over the years. Just continue not touching me without me knowing."
"I rested my hand on your-" Doc reflected.
"Its fine." Grian said. "It was actually reassuring."
Doc remained quiet, while Grian hugged Doc. Doc hesitantly hugged Grian back.
"Does Mumbo know?"
"...Yes..." Grian said. "Mumbo was told by Taurtis..."
