TW: Blood; Betrayal;
Tell me if I miss anything.
~
Grian stood in the chaotic battle zone, fighting his winged foe. The watcher had already injured Grian's side and arm, so Grian was mostly dodging now. His obsidian blades were used to aid in his evasion of the magic. It wouldn't be long before he couldn't dodge.
His side was bleeding profusely, with his left arm covered in his own blood. Now had Grian of been a normal person, he would've died from blood loss a while ago. Being a former admin made it so blood loss wouldn't really do anything.
The distinct sound of flapping wings caused Grian to look up and get ready to dodge again. The new Watcher landed directly in front of him, while the other left to fight someone else.
Grian stepped back and held his swords up. This watcher was uninjured, signifying him standing on the side bbn lines the entire fight.
"I didn't think you'd recognize me." The Watcher said, chuckling . It caused Grian to freeze. The voice was way too similar to his old friend's.
"Taurtis?" Grian asked, his swords lowering. His voice was hesitant and weak.
Taurtis took of the bandanna and smiled warmly to Grian. Grian's swords fell from his weak grasp, and he stepped backward again. Taurtis shifted his gaze to Grian's wounds.
Taurtis reached his hand towards Grian's stomach wound, causing Grian to step backward again. He frowned to Grian, but allowed the magic to activate. The side wound healed quickly, as if months of time had passed within those five seconds. Then he did the same with the arm wound.
Grian rubbed his arm as he glared at Taurtis. So many questions ran through his mind, with little time to ask or receive an answer.
"Why?" Was the question Grian settles on. Taurtis crouched down and grabbed Grian's blades before standing up again. Grian took his blades back quickly, stepling away from Taurtis.
"Why?" Taurtis asked, before sighing. "Because I had to distract you."
A sword was stabbed through Grian's upper abdomen, and he fell to his knees. He glared up at Taurtis as his vision blurred.
"With you out of the picture, the realm will pose no threat." Taurtis said, kneeling down near Grian. "I missed you, I truly did."
Grian tried standing up, but was barely able to get into a sitting position. He desperately wanted to punch Taurtis in the face for this. How could Taurtis do this? To him?
"I trusted you." Grian said, feeling his anger and the adrenaline mix together.
"And that is your fatal flaw. You. Have. Always. Been. Too. Trusting." The words were spat out of Taurtis's mouth.
Grian slightly laughed at Taurtis's decision of his fatal flaw. It wasn't that, far from it actually. He knew because only four people in the world had gotten close enough to Grian to really know him.
"No. It's that I'm too loyal." Grian said, a smirk making it's way across his face. His eyes filled with madness as the black consumed everything in his vision.
He felt like he was floating in the void. The black sight all around him wasn't suffocating, but rather exhilarating. He felt free for the first time in a long time. He looked down at himself before smiling softly. His outfit had changed to his red sweater and jeans. His sleeves were rolled up, exposing the cuffs on his forearms. The chains on the cuffs were cut off, symbolizing his new found freedom.
He closed his eyes as he found the air around him begin to stir. Some breezes flowed through the void, bring the smell of rain. It slightly confused him.
Then the gravity returned to him. It dragged him downwards, causing mild panic as he opened his eyes. Questions clouded his head as he tried to figure out what was happening.
Where was he falling to? Was he coming back to consciousness?
He landed somewhat softly on the ground, and he widened his eyes. Sand? Why was there sand underfoot?
He looked up and began walking around. His hands grazed over a rock with a two letters and a number engraved on it.
"HC6?" Grian muttered. He looked at his hands to see the cuffs and chains gone. "How in the world...?"
After a moment of confusion, an echo of an intense wind made him look over. The portal swirled the vision of the night sky, even though it was day. A man in green highlighted armor walked through the portal, quickly followed by a man with glasses and short brown hair. They were chatting and hadn't noticed Grian yet.
More people stepped through the portal, only the sixth person noticing Grian however. He was tall, but it wasn't that hard to be tall compared Grian, who was 5'3. He was a creeper Hybrid, with cyborg parts covering his arm, half of his chest, and part of his face. He had a lab coat that was frayed and covered in soot at the bottom, with blue frayed shorts.
"Uh, X. Theres a new Hermit." He pointed out, turning to the man who had came through the portal first.
'X' looked to the man slightly confused before looking at Grian. Grian waved hesitantly, and he could tell he looked like a fish out of water. The man walked over to Grian before reaching his hand out in a handshake way. Grian accepted and shook the outstretched hand, more confused then anything.
"I'm Xisuma Void, sorry for not realizing you were here." He said, an apologetic glint in his eyes being the only thing visible through the purple visor. "I'm the admin here. Welcome to Hermitcraft Season 6."
"Grian." Grian said, smiling to Xisuma. "Is there any details I should know about the server?"
Xisuma seemed taken aback, from the frozen stance.
"Is something wrong?" Grian asked, slightly giggling at the admins suprise.
"Oh- No. It's just that it usually takes players a while for them to understand what's going on." Xisuma said, his light chuckle barely audible. "I can send you a copy of all the details, but theres theme areas where you build something in that theme, and there is the shopping district."
Grian nodded, and opened his communicator. Xisuma's eyes widened as he saw it.
"How long have you been server hopping?" Xisuma asked, before explaining. "The Hologram communicators are only really used by frequent server hoppers."
"The last server I was on was extremely glitchy, so we had to use these as the world updated forwards or backwards a lot." Grian said, shrugging. "It caused less issues to get the communicators that didn't have to be updated every time the server malfunctioned."
Xisuma nodded and the smile was visible in his eyes, though he couldn't see it with the man's helmet.
He could start over here.
