Newbie (Bucky x Reader)

Mission completed

"You find me distracting?" he grinned even more.
"Listen tall, dark, and handsome... I need you to focus on the mission" you sighed watching the download.
"You think I'm handsome?" he repeated back to you.
"Shush" you listened for footsteps outside the door. "I hear two people coming" you saw him listening carefully. The door handle moved slightly and when it opened you saw two hydra agents raise their guns but Bucky took his knives out and eliminated them both, dragging them into the room and closing the door again.
"Back to the handsome thing" he started to tease you.
"Of course, you're handsome, have you looked in a mirror? Now focus. I'd rather not go home with any more bullet holes" you looked over the side of the table to look at him. You saw him give you a flirty smile, and you couldn't help the smile that came across your face. You tried to turn it into a glare but were very unsuccessful as you turned back to the data uplink. You watched the percentage move slowly and wanted to grind your teeth at how slow it was being. You still had to download the virus onto the computer once you were done, and that could take a few more minutes. You heard footsteps again, and Bucky got ready with his knives, his gun still ready to go. A man burst through the door and you automatically flicked your wrist freezing him completely with your whip to the spot. You had could see a flash on the muzzle of his gun and it was pointed right at you. Bucky didn't miss a beat, and hit the man with his vibranium arm. The ice and the man inside of it shattered and fell to the ground.
"We don't have a door anymore, this is getting dangerous. We need to move" Bucky looked out the door keeping watch.
"Trust me handsome" you grinned at him. "Meet me at the front door"
"What are you going to do?" he quirked an eyebrow, giving a smirk at the nickname.
"Nothing reckless" you made a symbol to cross your heart. "I'm finishing the upload, and leaving them a little present on their servers" you had a malicious glint in your eye.
"I'll stay until your done" he stood at the wall, looking out and keeping an ear out for anyone. You looked at him and got caught looking into his beautiful blue eyes again. You bit your bottom lip, and saw his gaze flicker down to your lips. "That's distracting doll, I'm supposed to keep you safe"
"I'm not trying to distract you" you flushed, and turned back to the computer.
"Agree to disagree" he mumbled.
You waited until the upload was at 100%, then started pulling a virus from online that you had kept for emergencies. AKA every time you raided a base. You went to your website co-ordinates and hit the download function and waited for it to complete. It was slow, and you heard more people coming. You kept your back to the door, trusting Bucky had your back. You heard a fight break out behind you and turned in time to see a knife flying directly towards you and you threw up your arm to block it from hitting you. It went flying to the side, but not before leaving a nasty cut on your arm. You yelped at the feeling, and heard Bucky growl before his gun started going off. He seemed precise with the weapon, taking out several people that were coming to the room within moments of each other. You were secretly glad that he had come with you. You didn't think this little base would have so many people in it. Once the virus was done being downloaded, you linked the computer to all servers in the base and activated it with a final flourish on the keys and a very satisfied smile.
"You're bleeding" Bucky looked at you as you stood up.
"A knife got past you" you looked him over. "You're bleeding too there Sargent Barnes. We could almost be twins" you gave a wink.
"We gotta take care of that" he took long strides towards you and you shook your head.
"I'll take care of it at the jet" you gave a small smile. "You need more medical attention than me" you looked around the room and saw a first aid kit. You went over and grabbed it, but he shook his head.
"I'll wait for the jet too" he decided for you. "I don't want anything Hydra on me" he admitted. You could see his reasoning and nodded to yourself putting it back.
"Come on handsome, we still have to get past the next set of guards" you started to walk out with a little more sway in your hips. You could feel his eyes on you, and looked over your shoulder at him and gave him another wink. You saw him lick his lips and his eyes were on your butt as he bit his bottom lip. "That's distracting handsome" you giggled and continued your way back to the front doors.
"You're distracting" he quipped.

When you opened the door to get outside, you were surprised to see all the guards were already on the ground looking worse for wear, if not dead. You looked up to see Maria and Steve waiting patiently for you both nearby. You couldn't help the smile that went across your face as you ran towards them with a giggle.
"We got the data! Thank you, babe, thank you Mister helpful" you gave Maria a loud kiss on the cheek. "We both need to get to the jet. Handsome here got a few wounds that need looking after" you grinned as Maria gave a wide smile.
"Handsome?" she repeated. "What did you do that was reckless?"
"His new nickname" you shrugged. "Absolutely nothing. Bucky took care of me the whole time, such a gentleman"
"You still got hurt" Steve motioned to your arm.
"He was taking down five men at once, I only deflected a knife coming at me. It's the only thing that got through" you smiled and almost skipped back to the jet feeling fulfilled on the mission. "Plus we are running early, so I have some free time before I have to start moving"
"I'm still going to come visit you at the compound" Maria warned you.
"I wouldn't expect any different" you smiled as you got to the jet and entered the key to open up the back. You all walked in before you went to the front and closed up the back. Steve went to Bucky with the first aid kit and started working on him quickly. Maria started up the jet and you all put your seatbelts on. Steve just strapped in beside Bucky and didn't miss a beat in working on the different wounds that he could see. Once auto-pilot was on, you unstrapped and turned around to see Bucky pull off his jacket and shirt and you wanted to purr with satisfaction. He was a beautiful man, even with all the scars. The metal arm intrigued you. You bit your bottom lip and his glance went to you and he gave a flirty smirk and wink. You flushed getting caught checking him out, and turned around again pulling off your jacket while Maria grabbed the other first aid kit and started putting butterfly stitches on your arm. The wound was longer than you thought. She cleaned up what she could of the blood and disinfected it first.
"Maybe get Cho to put in real stitches this time" she whispered to you and you nodded before putting your jacket back on. "How about Charles in the science division?" she suddenly asked a little more loudly and you groaned.
"No Maria" you shook your head.
"Why not, he's your type" she argued.
"You don't even know my type" you shook your head.
"Tall, da..." she started and you put your hand over her mouth.
"I will dick punch you" you warned. "Besides, guys our age don't know how to treat a lady anymore. I don't want anymore pity dates. I want a real one, and when I meet the right guy, and it works out in my favor, I'll let you know. Until then, no more blind dates, no more pity dates, no more meet ups where you don't show up some guy does, no more of your schemes. I have everything I need. Here's an idea, find a date for yourself"
"I'm too busy looking for you" she shook her head, and you heard a chuckle from behind you. You looked over and saw Steve and Bucky grinning and whispering to each other.
"Stop looking for me, when I meet the right guy, I'll know. Find one for you, stay out of my love life" you added, giving her a small slap.
"Men are too complicated" she whined.
"Then look for a woman that's less complicated" you rolled your eyes.
"Oh honey, if I swung that way I would have already swept you off of your feet" she grinned at you and you both broke out into giggles.
"I'm not that easy" you grinned. "How was it Bucky put it earlier? There's a dance to these things"
"Girl I know everything about you, and I know exactly how to sweep you off your feet" Maria grinned moving closer to you.
"I'd like to see you try" you licked your lips in anticipation.
"Alright, tonight after we leave Doc's office and finish our reports. I'm taking you on a date" she decided.
"Can't we just stay in and drink wine and listen to music?" you pouted.
"I never turn down a dare" she grinned.
"I also said no more dates" you reminded her.
"Babe, trust me" she smiled broadly.
"You just used my own saying against me!" you mock gasped.
"Make yourself pretty for me" she winked.
