Morning of the big mission

Waking up was a flurry of excitement. You had taken the time to kiss each other good morning, and then realized the time. Bucky insisted you jump in the shower first, but while you were in there he had to brush his teeth, and brought in both your cat suit and his tactical suit in while you tried to hurry in the shower. It seemed almost natural that he was in and out of the bathroom while you were taking your shower. You hurried as much as you could, and when you jumped out he wrapped you in a towel before he jumped in himself. While he took his shower, you brushed your teeth and hair. Put your hair into a braid going over your shoulder and did some light makeup before looking at the undergarments that Bucky chose out for you. It was the dark blue lace and you smiled that he chose a matching set. You put it on quickly while he got out of the shower and he let out a small groan and bit his knuckles.
"No, we don't have time" you knew that look.
"I can be quick" he grinned starting to dry off.
"I'd be heavily disappointed" you giggled.
"I haven't disappointed you yet" he winked. "I still have tricks up my sleeve for you"
"Come on Sarge, its mission day" you laughed and started putting on your catsuit. You slipped your boots on and looked over at Bucky while he put on his boxers and his tactical suit and you wanted to purr in satisfaction. He was like a work of art. He turned to look at you, and broke out in a smile.
"I can still see the lace" he grinned. "I can't wait to get home"
"We don't know how long this is going to take" you giggled.
"As quick as possible" he promised with a wink and leaned in to give you a kiss. You gladly accepted it, and touched his cheek as he deepened the kiss. When you pulled back, you wiped the lip gloss off of the side of his lips, and went ahead and fixed it on your lips. You walked out and grabbed your phone and headset putting it in your pocket while Bucky went to the door and waited for you to join him.
"Where's your phone?" you asked worriedly.
"In my pocket" he smirked. "Why?"
"In case we get separated and comms don't work" you bit your bottom lip.
"Stop worrying" he kissed your cheek. "Its going to be fine"

When you got to breakfast everyone was already geared up and ready to go. Bucky quickly pulled out your chair and you sat down, since you were the last ones to arrive.
"Mission ready?" Tony seemed to pause before asking.
"Born ready" you grinned. "Its basically a recon, just with the whole team"
"Good" he nodded. "Bruce will be giving quick demonstration in the artillery room on the new equipment before you all gear up. Remember to bring extra data sticks ladies, you need to download everything twice. Relay on comms once your done, Y/N likes to leave a virus and wipe out the data once she's done" Tony gave a bit of a proud smile.
"Can't recover it if it's gone, must be so frustrating" you giggled and felt Bucky put his hand on your thigh momentarily before he started filling your plate with food. You realized you were starved this morning, and once he was done you quickly dug in with a smile after giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Just in case its more than a day mission, I made some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for everyone, and put it on the jet already" Happy announced. "Someone once said they didn't think they could ever eat another protein bar"
"Thank you Happy" you grinned at him, and he shrugged.
"You owe me two songs in the morning" he warned you.
"Understood, I do have a tab going" you giggled.
"I might just make you do a karaoke night instead at this point" he teased you.
"Its too soon" you shook your head. "I enjoyed my wine that night a little too much" you giggled.
"This time would be at the compound, the whole team could take part" Tony gave a mischievous grin.
"You would find a way to get everyone off their butts drunk" Sam spoke up. "Besides, we need Maria for a karaoke night. She's good at singing"
"Says the man who is courting her" Thor gave a sly smile.
"She is a beautiful woman" Sam grinned. "I'm lucky she agreed on the first date. I'm looking forward to the second one" he admitted. "After the mission of course"
"Is she going to be with Shield?" you asked softly.
"She is, along with your father. They are supposed to stay back until we are done with the base" Steve nodded.
"Good, I don't want them getting in the cross fire" you nibbled at your bottom lip.
"Stop worrying, its going to be alright. We are prepared for the base" Bucky reassured you.
"I just have a gut feeling something's off again" you admitted.
"I hate that gut feeling of yours" Sam groaned.
"We will be extra safe" Bucky kissed your cheek. "Don't worry so much doll. I'll bring extra guns and ammo, okay?"
You gave a soft smile and a nod before turning back to your food, making sure to finish it all.

Bruce's demonstration was fairly quick. The chemical rope would be cut by a laser that was on the side of it, so you could keep using as much rope as you needed. Shield had been provided with lasers to cut it off the prisoners when it came time for processing. You put on one your hip for just in case. The inhibitors went around the room, and all it needed was a drop of blood to be activated for the person they were putting it on. You weren't supposed to be going in for prisoners so you weren't given any inhibitors to use. The net that Bruce created would be activated as soon as it was thrown, and would work for five minutes of high voltage going through the victim giving ample time to get away, or to take a moment to take them prisoner. You started gearing up with as much as you could, trying not to think about the last time you geared up like this. You still remembered being left behind, but knew the team wouldn't leave you behind at all. You knew you could depend on them. You filled all your holsters and Daisy came running into the room and you dropped to your knees to give her a kiss.
"Be a good girl for mommy" you smiled at her.
"I'll take good care of her, she's going to have treats for days" Happy promised.
"Don't forget plenty of exercise, and that she needs her toys or nap times. She likes to make a nest with Alpine. You can't let them be separated. They make a cute pair" you started going over your list. "Did you get my email for emergency vet's and everything?"
"Twice already, and the extra one you made for Alpine" Happy chuckled. "Stop worrying, Pepper will be here to help take care of them"
"Only use the doggy day care if no one can help, and they do take cats" you felt Bucky pulling you up and away from Happy.
"Come on doll, they've got this. You already sent the lists for both of them. Stop worrying so much" Bucky gave a small chuckle and kissed you on the cheek.
"All their toys are in our room" you called over your shoulder and Happy waved you off.
"They'll be okay doll" Bucky held you close to him as you both walked towards the jet the rest of the team was already boarding. It was the largest jet at the compound. You both walked in and saw they were all strapping in, but Steve left two spots at the end for the pair of you to sit.
"You forgot to take your necklace off" Steve told you as you went to sit at the end so Bucky would be beside him.
"Shit" you looked down, and bit your lip for a moment before pulling it and putting it into your catsuit. "Problem solved"
"Are you sure that's a good idea doll?" Bucky asked gently.
"I'm not taking it off, there's too many places for it to get lost" you shook your head. "Its precious to me"
"Here" Nat got up from the co-pilot seat and grabbed a small lockbox from her locker. She opened it up and saw she had a few things in there already. Bucky reached behind you and unclasped the necklace and put it into the box for you. "I'll make sure you get it back as soon as we are back on the jet" she promised.
"Thank you Nat" you flushed a bit. "I just don't want to lose it, Bucky bought it for me"
"No one will get in this box except me" she winked and put it back in her locker. You sighed a bit and finished strapping in, looking over to see Bucky was already done and looked like he was getting his game face on.
"No jumping out of the jet without a parachute punk" Bucky looked at Steve who chuckled a bit. Bucky then leaned back and put his arm around you, pulling you in. "Just remember, its just like recon, but it's a live base. The whole team is with you this time. Keep an eye out for danger, but you should be in one of the safest places possible" he whispered to you.
"Just remember that I love you" you whispered to him.
"I love you too" he smirked, and kissed you on the side of the head. "If all goes well, we will be home for bedtime"
"Of course its going to go well, we planned everything to a T, and we have a hulk on standby" Tony grinned.
"Code green only if needed Tony" Nat glared over her shoulder. You looked to Bruce who was listening to his music. You pulled your phone out and turned on your music, putting one earbud in your ear, and one in Bucky's so you could both enjoy it together. Bucky only leaned over in response and kissed you on the cheek again.
