Newbie (Bucky x Reader)

Spa day

When you woke up in the morning, Bucky was sitting at the desk and was typing away on his laptop seeming to have progressed pretty far. You saw he had his report notebook with him, and seemed to be typing in his old reports to email back to Tony and Steve and for the rest of the team. You gave a small smile and slipped out of bed.
"Did you sleep?" you yawned.
"I gotta get this straight" he was still focused on the computer.
"Bucky bear, you need to rest a little" you frowned a bit. "We have a big party tonight"
"I know doll, I will take a nap after breakfast" he turned and looked at you from the chair. You could see bags under his eyes.
"Baby..." you walked over to him and wrapped your arms around his shoulders. "I need you to get some sleep" you sighed. "You look awful" you added.
"You look tempting in my shirt" he grinned at you.
"Maybe I was hoping you'd wake me up when you came to bed" you pouted a little.
"I just want to make sure I get this right before we go on the mission. Its important to me that I do this right. Maybe we can do more long term missions together if we do good on this one" he smirked at you with his flirty smile, and you melted a bit on the inside again.
"We don't know how this one will go yet" you shook your head.
"We will be fine, as long as I learn this" he seemed so focused.
"You still have those emails to memorize" you reminded him.
"We have the weekend, I'm not as worried about that" he gave you a kiss on the cheek.
"Alright, I'm going to go get changed and go for my run" you sighed. You could tell his mind was made up, and you loved this about him too. Now you understood what they meant by he wasn't easily distracted. Once Bucky put his mind up to something, he was determined to see it through. You admired it about him. You slipped into the closet and put on black lace panties with a sports bra before putting on a pair of tight running shorts and a tank top since you knew you would have to work in the gym for at least a little bit with Nat and Wanda this morning. You put on your running shoes and called for Daisy before giving Bucky another kiss on the cheek before heading to the balcony door and down the stairs.

"You're distracted this morning" Sam called out to you as you made your third lap around the track with him.
"Huh?" you looked at him, forgetting that he was there for a moment.
"You're distracted. What's going on?" he asked slowing his pace, causing you to slow down too.
"Bucky's really focused on learning the computer and how to type. He didn't even come to bed, he's been typing since yesterday trying to get it right" you pouted a little.
"Once he puts his mind to something, he rarely gives up until he has it right" Sam admitted. "That's why we say he's not easily distracted"

"But not even for cuddles?" you pouted even more.
"I'm sure you'll get your cuddles back" Sam promised. "How about we go in for some coffee?"
"I don't feel like singing this morning" you shook your head.
"Its not just for you. Happy is really going to miss you quite a bit, we all are. Just like you missing your cuddles, the family here is going to be missing you and Bucky. Hell, even I'm going to miss you sexy legs" he stopped running and spoke to you seriously. "Now stop your pouting, he's doing this for you and for both your cover" he reminded you.
"Alright" you sighed heavily and leaned into Sam as he put his arm around you and led you to the balcony stairs. You pulled out your phone and looked at the song list you were going to sing for Happy when you got inside, and Sam pulled you back under his arm as you got inside and led you towards the kitchen. Its not that you were unhappy that Bucky was so focused, you were just used to having more of his attention. With you finding yourself pouting about it, you felt selfish.
"There's my sunshine" Happy exclaimed as Sam pulled you in.
"She's not feeling it this morning. I think she needs us to remind her why we love having her around her so much" Sam explained quickly.
"Come here Sunshine" Happy pulled you from Sam and gave you a hug. "Want to help me with breakfast?" he asked expectantly.
"Sure" you nodded. He held out the spatula and took your phone hitting play on the playlist you had open. You went to start working immediately on the eggs as "Working for you" by Jake Scott started playing. You softly started singing the song, and moving to the music as you cooked. Happy didn't miss a beat and turned the music up louder so you would feel more confident to sing louder.
"Sadder music this morning" Sam spoke softly to Happy who nodded and went to start making your coffee. Happy took the spatula and handed you your coffee and led you over to a stool to sit down beside Sam. You switched to "Hold on" by Chord Overstreet as it came on, and Sam frowned a bit, and Happy looked to him. As you finished you sighed heavily and Happy came over and took your phone.
"I don't like this playlist for today. It's a celebration day" he grinned at you. "You're being announced as an official Avenger" he ruffled your hair.
"You choose for me then" you shrugged. Happy kept going through the list that you had selected and frowned while Sam started to work on the eggs for him.
"You normally have happy music or love songs" Happy sighed and went out of the playlist and baulked a little at the amount of playlists that you had. He finally found one that he recognized and turned on "Treat you Better" by Shawn Mendez and you smiled a bit as you started to sing it. Between Sam and Happy they finished breakfast quickly and got everything on the table while you finished singing.
"Come on Sunshine, its time to eat" Happy refilled your coffee and led the way out to go to the table. When you came around the corner, you saw that Bucky hadn't come to the table. You frowned again, but hoped that he had fallen asleep possibly.
"You need to come with us today" Pepper was on her phone. "I just send out an email saying I'm out of the office. You need to change into something comfortable to go in the public"
"I don't feel like going out" you shook your head.
"You need to get ready for tonight" Pepper gave a smile.
"Yeah, we are going to go get our glam on" Wanda smiled happily.
"What about training?" you asked expectantly.
"Its one day" Nat shrugged. "It's a big day. It's your day"
"I'm too nervous about this" you shook your head.
"There's nothing to be nervous about" Nat smiled at you.
"Yeah, you'll be just fine, pet. Steve and Tony's are just going to give a big speech, you smile for the camera. You don't have to talk to anyone, you just stand beside them and smile nice and pretty. Once the press is gone, there will be some dancing and drinks" Loki gave a grin. "Stop being so melancholy"
"Where is Manchurian Candidate?" Tony suddenly asked.
"I went and checked on him, he was passed out on the computer so I put him in bed" Steve admitted.
"He was at it all night, he didn't come to bed" you spoke gently.
"He gets focused too" Clint shrugged. "Just like you do with memorizing things. Don't worry about it kid"
"He won't miss your big debut tonight" Steve smiled kindly. "We will make sure he's up and ready for when its time"
"Eat your breakfast, and go get dressed. We are getting pampered" Pepper seemed to be taking over.
