By the time Bucky was done with the lawn's, he had to run inside to change while you washed your tea cup and tea pot. You took the fruit salad out of the fridge and sighed softly to yourself. You forgot to text your dad again, but knew you needed to take the time to do it soon, or else he would likely just show up. You wondered if he was at the compound and watching you and Bucky living the domesticated life. You thought about what Maria would be doing right now, wondering if she was enjoying her time with Sam. You were happy that you got to see Nat and Bruce in the paper. You missed the team dearly, but selfishly were willing to admit to yourself that you were enjoying a life of domestication. You normally went stir crazy, but you still had your own kind of missions while working on a real mission. You liked the fact that you had Bucky to yourself now, and silently hoped the mission would take some time.
"You about ready, my rose?" Bucky hit the bottom of the stairs wearing one of his light pink dress shirts, and a pair of light blue jeans.
"Born ready" you gave a smile. "Did you match me on purpose?" you giggled.
"Maybe" he winked and took the fruit salad from you. "We are a couple" he grinned.
"Who chose the pink" you went over and whispered to him.
"Clint said his wife likes it when he matches her, sometimes a man needs to wear pink" he whispered in your ear.
"You look cute" you giggled. He smiled proudly, and leaned over to kiss you on the cheek.
"Let's meet the neighborhood" he announced and led you out the front door.

When you got to Laura and Dean's front door, Bucky knocked quickly with a huge smile on his face. You leaned into him as the door opened and they welcomed you both in with open arms.
"Come in, come in!" Laura pulled on your hand, while Dean took the fruit salad from Bucky.
"Thank you for having us" you spoke meekly.
"The girls are looking forward to meeting you, I told them all about you Melody" Laura led you through the house to the back yard where you saw several people already standing there.
"Oh, she's so cute!" a woman with blond hair, and bright red lipstick came over. "You must be Melody! I'm Penelope" she came over excitedly.
"Hi" you blushed and gave a small smile.
"She's so shy" another woman came over. "I'm Stephanie, we live on the other side of you. You and your husband are so cute. You're even matching"
"My husband Morgan, he's over there with Dean and your husband, he loves your dog. She's so cute" Penelope spoke up. "He's the sheriff in town" she added proudly.
"Do you live far?" you asked politely, blushing a deep red at all the attention.
"Just on the other side of the park" Penelope smiled.
"Penelope is in IT, she's the oddball with this group" Stephanie grinned.
"There's nothing wrong with working, I would too, but Bucky likes having me at home" you blushed. "I like it too" you have a small shrug.
"We were so excited when you two finally moved in, its such a beautiful house" Penelope smiled at you.
"James bought the house as a surprise for me. I can't believe how many roses there are" you cooed.
"He calls her his rose" Laura grinned and you flushed.
"I've always loved roses. He's bought me roses for all of our dates until we moved here. But I think the house makes up for years worth of roses" you giggled slightly.
"You two still do dates too?" Stephanie asked excitedly.
"They are like newly weds" Laura nodded.
"How long have you been married?" Penelope asked quickly.
"Three years, it was a whirlwind romance for about a year" you smiled, remembering the mission details.
"We've been married ten years, I still feel like it was only yesterday" Stephanie sighed happily.
"Did you want a glass of wine?" Laura asked you and you nodded with a smile. You were trying to look a little overwhelmed.
"Please" you finally squeaked out. She hurried into the house, and came back a few moments later with a glass of wine. You took a grateful sip while the ladies started talking to each other. More people came, and you tried to blend in more. You studied each person, taking in their profile. You knew that Penelope and her husband wouldn't be in gun sales. Laura and Dean didn't seem like the type, they were too friendly. You were expecting someone who kept more to themselves.
