When you woke up in the morning, you nuzzled more into Bucky knowing that it was the day of the tea party and just wanted another few minutes laying with your soon to be real husband. He moaned softly in his sleep as you held onto him a little closer and gave a soft kiss on his chest. You felt his arms tighten around you, letting you know he was awake. You pulled down the blanket, and felt the crisp morning air hit your naked skin and gave a slight shiver and you sat up slightly so you could look at him better.
"Good morning" Bucky smiled at you adoringly, and you knew you would never get tired of him looking you that way.
"Good morning my love" you smiled right back, wanting nothing more than to initiate the previous nights activities but you had a mission you had to follow through with. Instead you leaned down and brushed your lips softly against his at first. His hands roamed over your back before he tugged at you to come closer and he automatically deepened the kiss as you laid more on top of him. He hummed happily into the kiss while you gave a soft moan and touched the side of his face. When you pulled back for air you were going to sit up completely, but he tugged at you again and you got the message that he wasn't done with you yet. He continued to ravish your mouth, making you wish that you had woken up earlier just so you could enjoy this longer.
"Now that's a good way to wake up" Bucky grinned at you proudly when you pulled back from the kiss and you flushed a bit.
"We normally wake up with a kiss" you giggled.
"That doesn't mean I ever get tired of it. It just keeps getting better" he leaned up and gave you a chaste kiss on the lips. "You want to stay in bed a little longer?" his eyes were darkened with lust and you knew in your heart of hearts you wanted to stay.
"I have to go make some tea and coffee and start on breakfast" you gave a soft smile, and touched the side of his cheek wishing that this moment would never end. That this love would always continue throughout the rest of your days.
"Mission" he whispered and pouted.
"That's right, and that comes first darling" you purred to him and slipped out of bed. You saw in the full length mirror you had love bites all over your neck, collarbone, and breasts. You looked over your shoulder at Bucky who grinned at you proudly as he studied the marks as well. You had a few finger print bruises on your hips as well and ran your fingers over it unconsciously.
"Did I hurt you?" he asked worriedly, sitting up in bed and looking at you softly.
"Pleased me, but never hurt me. I like it when you lose control for a little bit" you grinned at him, and he held out a hand to you to pull you close. You went to him and he pulled you in to him. He looked up at you and kissed the bruises softly, holding your gaze. He then moved to your lower stomach and left a few soft kisses there. You could feel his beard burn graze against your flesh and shivered slightly.
"How about I get up with you, I'll make my own coffee" he offered.
"Take your shower, I'll be okay" you leaned down and brushed your lips softly against his with a smile. "I'm going to get started on the puzzle in the paper"
"You should wait for me, I love working on those with you" he chuckled.
"Alright, I'll do some light reading while I wait for you" you pulled away reluctantly and went to put on a pair of panties and a soft green negligee before putting your robe and slippers on. You took a moment to go over and get your mask and put it on before giving Bucky one more soft kiss on the cheek. His eyes watched you closely until you were out of the bedroom and out of sight before he got up to go take his shower.

By the time you were done making tea and coffee, grabbing the newspaper etc, you could hear Bucky was done in the shower. You thought about making breakfast, but Daisy had to go out to use the bathroom first. It was part of your morning ritual and that needed to be followed. You called Daisy and went outside with your tea and the newspaper and took a seat at your little table.
"Good morning!" Laura peeked over the fence.
"Good morning" you beamed at her. You genuinely liked her, and honestly hoped that if you were wrong about Ron she had nothing to do with the gun trafficking. "How was date night?" she asked quickly as you threw the ball for Daisy.
"My uncle had us fly out to go see him, but it was wonderful. We got home a lot later than we anticipated" you frowned a little.
"I was asleep before you got home, that's for sure. So what all did you do at your uncles?" she asked quickly.
"Oh we went to a few places, but went back to his place and just did the family thing. He seems excited for the babies as well" you sighed happily.
"Did you read your paper yet?" she arched an eyebrow.
"Not yet, Daisy had most of my focus" you admitted.
"Well, you'll see it but that new Avenger and Bucky are rumored to be getting married, and that's why they haven't been in the public eye. I know, I'm a bit of a geek, but I love following them. The new one, Newbie, she seems interesting. The fact that she caught Bucky's eye must say something about her. I also like that her enemies call her ice demon, I think its cute" Laura went on a tangent but you felt like your heart had stopped and could only hear your eardrums beating. Your mouth was hanging open, and you knew that must look so rude, but you couldn't breathe. Your mouth was dry and you wanted to have a full blown panic attack. You wondered what else the article said, and wanted to know how the news got out so quickly. You wondered if there were pictures to go along with this news article.
"Melody?" Laura asked you gently.
"I'm just in shock. They've only been dating less than a year" you recovered quickly and gave a weak smile.
"Oh you can tell in the pictures they are head over heels for one another. I hope its true, and they get photos of the wedding" she sighed happily.
"Are there pictures of them in the paper today?" you asked before looking.
"A few, but they look a little blurred like they were taken in a hurry. They were definitely celebrating something" she sang softly and looked over and saw Bucky coming out with his morning coffee. He was wearing his pajama's and a white t-shirt and smiled gently and waved to Laura.
"I'll leave you two love birds to it. I'll see you at the tea party for noon" she reminded you and you gave a soft nod. Bucky stopped and studied your face closely and could already tell something had upset you. You waited until Laura was gone and opened up the paper and started ripping through the pages as quickly as possible looking for the news article. Once you were satisfied it wasn't in the regular news section, you grabbed the entertainment section and opened it up and saw a photo of you yesterday as you were walking on the tarmac in your dress holding Bucky's hand with big smiles on both of your faces. You could tell that it was from when you first arrived at Shield headquarters.
"What's wrong my rose?" Bucky finally asked as you held the paper up in front of your face, trying to keep your heart beating in your chest.
"Did you know Newbie and Bucky from the Avengers are engaged?" you asked lightly. You saw his face darken slightly, before he made it go neutral. Someone had leaked it, but the only ones to know were people that you both trusted.
"You mean the little ice demon?" he tried to make you chuckle, but your heart was in your throat. You read through the article quickly and saw where you and Bucky were on the balcony kissing and the photo's did look blurred like someone didn't want getting caught taking the pictures. You knew it wasn't Pietro, his photos were much better than that. He knew how to stand long enough to get a good one.
"Its all speculation" you sighed with relief. "They were celebrating, but no one knows for sure what they were celebrating, and only think its an engagement" you finally finished reading the article. Bucky, you had noticed, had remained incredibly calm and collected while you read through the article, and remained quiet. You knew when he went that quiet it could be dangerous. You handed him the paper and he started going over and you saw him studying it carefully. He pulled out his phone and you saw him send an email to Tony about cars, and knew he was asking if your cover had been blown or if someone at the compound had leaked the engagement. The way Laura was acting, your cover still seemed fine for now.
"You know what I think?" Bucky looked at you with a grin. "I think we should have apple pie for breakfast"
"But that's what we are having for lunch" you giggled, and looked at him lovingly.
"We can do both. You make the best pie, it tastes just like my ma's" he reached over and kissed the back of your hand. He got an incoming email and nodded as he looked at it. You saw he visibly relaxed, and you did so as well. "I'm going to go get that pie rose, we can eat it out here and enjoy our morning together before the tea party" he winked at you and stood up.
"I love you James" you told him gently. He paused for a moment and looked at you with a huge smile on his face.
"I love you my rose, always and forever" he turned and kissed you softly on the cheek before going into the house to get the apple pie and came out a short few minutes later, along with a can of whipped cream and two forks. You let out a small giggle as he sat down, and you both started to dig in.

Once you were both done your breakfast, you went to refill your tea while Bucky set about the yard work, including picking up Daisy's little messes. You studied him from where you were still reading the paper, and marveled at how at ease he was just doing small things. Your favorite assassin just taking his time to pull some weeds out of your garden beds, and getting out the lawn mower to do the back and front lawn for the week. You finished your tea and saw the beads of sweat starting to go down his face, and staining his white shirt as he was bent over. You walked inside and grabbed him a glass of lemonade and brought it out to him.
"Thank you my rose" he came over and smirked at you.
"You look like you're a bit warm" you gave him a tender kiss on the cheek. He looked at you lovingly and gave you a chaste kiss on the lips.
"I was, but this helps. Thank you" he grinned and headed back to doing the yard work.
"Come on Daisy" you called her, knowing he was going to start mowing the lawn soon, and you didn't want her to get hurt. You brought in all the dishes from breakfast, and set about washing them before going upstairs to make the bed and have a shower.
When you got in the bedroom, you had to giggle a little bit seeing all the rose petals everywhere, and the state of the bedroom. You knew you would have to clean it all up and put it away, but at the same time, you were enjoying it. You had both crossed into a different path last night, and you had enjoyed it immensely. You went about picking up all the rose petals and put them into a glass vase, hoping perhaps that you both could use them again later. You made the bed neatly, the way you knew Bucky liked it and put your mask on the charger while you picked up all the discarded clothes from last night and put them in the hamper. Once you were done, you went about getting undressed and headed into the bathroom thinking about wearing the soft pastel green dress to go to the tea party. You didn't have a chance to wear it yet, and it looked cute when you had tried it on. It tucks in at the waist, and has a small dip in the front where your chest is. You studied the love bites in the mirror with a smile on your face and gave a soft sigh before turning on the shower, wishing it was tonight already. You also wanted to get rid of the bugs in the house, and confirm your suspicions about Ron. You knew you would have to talk to Bucky about it, but you thought tomorrow he should go to the farmers market, and you would go and search the basement next door.
