Newbie (Bucky x Reader)

Reminicing

For the next few days, it was the same routine. You would wake up and go for a walk with Sam to the garden, where they did indeed have a pond put in by Wednesday morning with little koi fish swimming around and some aquatic plant life in it. You loved the way it looked. When you walked back to the compound, you would make your way up the stairs and sing to Happy and to the rest of the team as they filtered in for breakfast. You would go and work on your reports for the day, only coming out for meals, and in the evenings to sit in the living room with the team to watch movies or tv. You liked just having Bucky to yourself in the bedroom after, where he would spend most of his time playing music on the record player and dancing with you around the room until you got tired, and then he would leave the record player on while he got down on the bed and would talk to the babies, and to you about his plans for your life together. You noticed he was really talking a lot about moving out of the compound, but not too far away so they could have a normal life. Alpine was loving the evenings where he got to lay across your chest and purr loudly, getting plenty of affection. Daisy loved it too, since sometimes if she wasn't nestled in your arm, she was nestled between Bucky's arms as he talked to the babies, resting his face on your stomach. You could tell he was excited about this next step in your lives. You were a little worried about the dress fitting today, and you would be separated from Bucky for the evening while he went for his suit fitting with his side of the wedding party. You weren't even worried, you knew Loki would want everything to be perfect. You knew the seamstress was given your measurements, and the dress had already been started on. You hoped it looked as beautiful as the one that Loki had put onto you. You had just finished supper when you heard your fathers footsteps come up behind you, and you felt the familiar kiss on top of your head.
"Hello pumpkin, are you ready?" Fury asked softly.
"Hey pops, I didn't know you were coming" you looked up at him in surprise.
"I told you I would catch you during the week" he grinned. "I went and got my suit last night"
"Look at you taking time off work" you looked at him impressed.
"It's not every day my little girl is getting married. I got to look almost as good as you do, since I'm giving you away" he gave a soft smile.
"Yeah, still not used to seeing this gentle version of the director" Pietro looked to Peter who nodded in agreement seeming to be a little weirded out by Fury's actions.
"It's still director hardass to you folks" he looked up sharply.
"Daddy" you admonished him.
"I'll mind my manners, pumpkin" he gave you another kiss on top of the head.
"Thank you for taking her, Nick" Bucky looked at him shyly.
"Wait, you got the okay to call him Nick?" Tony looked over in surprise.
"He is going to be my son soon, he might as well get used to it" Fury gave a grin. "I also brought you some more cupcakes, and they are already in your room" he added quickly.
"Thank you pops" you smiled happily. "I ate all the last ones already"
"Bucky texted me and told me that you did" he chuckled. "You really liked the sprinkles he said, so I made sure to add a little extra" he smiled at you.
"I just need to change, pops" you stood up in your leggings and t-shirt. "Do you mind if I take a minute?" you asked hopefully.
"I'll wait here and talk to the team" he nodded his agreement and you swept out of the room quickly.

You went back to your bedroom and dressed quickly in a powder blue maternity shirt, and a pair of jeans with red high top sneakers. You looked at yourself in the mirror and hummed softly to yourself before coming back out of the bedroom to see Bucky and your dad sitting in the small living room in the suite.
"Your dad was just saying he was looking forward to seeing you in your dress. Almost as much as I am" Bucky grinned from his spot on the couch. "I'm just going to get changed since I'm headed out with the guys" he gave a small smile. He stopped as he walked past you to give you a soft kiss on the cheek, and smiled warmly at you.
"My little girl is really all grown up" Fury looked like he had a tear in his eye. "Marrying the man that tried to kill me" he added with a chuckle.
"Under mind control, get over it pops" you giggled and headed over to where the fridge was and grabbed one of his homemade cupcakes and took it out of the container, taking off the wrapper quickly and saw he put fresh strawberries on top of the icing, along with the sprinkles. You danced as you ate your cupcake and hummed happily.
"I was told the dress was already picked out" Fury came closer to you and you smiled up at him as you finished your cupcake.
"Loki helped a lot, but yes. All the pictures were sent to the seamstress, I just have to go for the fitting tonight, and we need to make sure the girls' dresses fit as well" you gave a small smile.
"We are taking my car, it's bulletproof" he put his arm around you and gazed at you lovingly. "I never saw this coming. When I first met you, you were this scared little thing inside of a small cell with these big eyes just studying me like I was there to hurt you just like everyone else. But you chose me of all people to trust to get you out of there" he had a twinkle in his eye. "You changed my life for the better" he sighed, getting emotional.
"You changed my life for the better too pops" you felt tears come to the back of your eyes. "You were my hero"
"You have a new hero now" he smirked.
"I can have two, thank you very much. And Bucky is a hero" you straighten your posture. "He saved me too" you flushed a little bit.
"He's becoming my hero too" Fury whispered to you. "He brought life into my little girl, where there was only a spark"
"Pops, you should tell him that" you blushed a bright red.
"He heard me" Fury grinned as Bucky came back into the room in a pair of dark blue jeans and a white button up.
"That I did, thank you sir" Bucky flushed a bit and Fury gave him a look. "Nick" he corrected himself.
"You know, I better warn you. Pop's fell in love with you too. He won't admit it, but he did" you looked at Bucky with a loving smile. "So if something happens between now and forever, you'll be breaking more hearts than just mine"
"I don't plan on doing anything except spending the rest of my life proving nothing is going to happen" Bucky came over and nodded to Fury as he let go of you and you easily walked towards Bucky and leaned up to kiss him softly on the lips. He gave a soft moan and grinned at you as he pulled back looking at you. "Let me walk you to the car" Bucky took your hand and opened the bedroom door for you, gesturing you to walk out first. You walked out, and were followed quickly by your dad. Bucky barely let go of your hand. He led you outside and you saw the girls were already outside waiting, as were the guys.
"Come on Buck. Time to get your new suit" Steve called to him.
"I'm walking my dame to her car" Bucky gave a soft smile. Pepper, Wanda, Nat, and Maria followed close behind.
"It's going to be a tight squeeze in the back" Fury warned as he unlocked the car as you got close. Maria shrugged and jumped in, and tapped on her lap, looking at Nat expectantly. Nat easily just slipped on her lap. Bucky opened the passenger side door and waited for you to slide in.
"Text me if you need me" you looked at him worriedly.
"It's not our normal type of mission doll, I'll be just fine. Your dad will protect you, so I'm not worried" he leaned into the car and kissed you softly on the lips. "Take pictures for me to see after the wedding" he winked.
"You'll try snooping before the wedding" you giggled.
"You might have caught me" he chuckled. "I love you" he reminded you.
"I love you" you smiled at him and he closed the door. You put on your seat belt and waited for your dad to get in. He got in and got strapped in, and fixed the mirror.
"No one's going to believe me, that I had all these beautiful young ladies in my car" Fury smiled to himself.
"Dad" you giggled.
"I'll root for you" Maria grinned.
"I'm taking pictures" Wanda whipped out her phone and started taking pictures of all of you in the car and you waved back, knowing this was likely going to be some kind of slideshow.
"Should I stop at Starbucks first?" Fury looked back in the car.
"Oh yes please, I'm dying for a coffee" Pepper spoke up.
"I miss coffee" you pouted.
"As soon as those bundles of joy are out and about you can have coffee again" Nat smirked. "I'm dying for a coffee too"
"I should tell you ladies about my little girl's first fight at school, since embarrassing stories are part of the wedding" Fury seemed excited to be bringing this up.
"Dad, no please." you begged.
"Dad, please do!" Nat called up.
"I'm dying to hear this one, what did she do?" Maria seemed excited to hear this one.
"She didn't even start it" Fury chuckled. "This boy was picking on one of the girls at school for being a bit slow. Y/N caught up pretty quickly on her studies from home schooling for the first year after I had her. She was nine, and it was her first day in a real school. This boy had the little girl in tears because she couldn't read as fast as he could. He pushed the little girl and she was crying. Y/N, was never one to like bullies, and already knew she couldn't use her abilities. That was rule number one. She got up and she stalked towards this boy, and right in front of the teacher that was reprimanding him, she pushed him on his ass. He got up pretty quick and tried to punch her, but she was quick. Used the meaty part of her arm to block it just like I taught her, and she gave him a black eye" Furcy chuckled.
"That's my girl" Maria announced.
"They wanted to kick her out of school on her very first day for that" Fury chuckled. "We had to have the discussion about not getting caught if you were fighting back against a bully. And if she did get caught, not to talk back and wait for me to show up."
"What happened to the little girl?" Pepper asked curiously.
"She tried making friends with Y/N, but she was so focused on her studies, and trying to take me down she found out quickly to go to Y/N for protection but not friendship" Fury gave a smirk. "I pulled Y/N out of more detention than I'm willing to admit for standing up to bullies" he mused and stopped at Starbucks, getting you a lemonade.
"You know, when the winter soldier took a shot at Fury and he pretended to be dead, I had to go in deep cover. Y/N had been assigned overseas, but she was calling my ass every day, and sending me files on the winter soldier. Even stuff way above her access. She was a woman on a mission, and she wanted him brought in. It's funny to think back on it now. She's marrying the man now" Maria remarked as Fury continued to drive to the bridal shop.
"Once I knew he was under mind control, I dropped the subject. I knew what Hydra was capable of" you shrugged.
"I almost died" Fury reminded you.
"Even if you did, it was under mind control. I'd still be marrying him" you grinned in spite of yourself.
"That I wouldn't doubt. THe love you two share is undeniable" Wanda perked up. "From the moment he met you"
"There certainly was attraction" you flushed a bit.
"She thought he was cute when he was first hired on as an Avenger and still had that long hair" Maria updated everyone.
"You weren't supposed to know about him when he still had the really long hair" Pepper seemed surprised.
"I can't keep her out of my secure files. Good luck keeping her out of the Avenger ones" Fury chuckled as he parked in front of the bridal shop.
