Newbie (Bucky x Reader)

Horror movie

You took the balcony steps down with Daisy on her leash and started looking around curiously. The sun was starting to set and you found the jogging trail you assumed everyone used to walk around on. It went around the lake, and you could see how relaxing it would be when you would get around to using it.
"Come on baby" you saw she was busy taking in all the scents around her excitedly. You saw no one was around, so you let her off of her leash while you walked. She couldn't seem to get enough, and started sprinting everywhere, but staying close to you. You giggled a bit at her antics. She was truly adorable. She let out a few excited barks while she ran, and you couldn't help but start to jog with her. She seemed excited about the new game, and new surroundings. You made it all the way around the track and felt a little out of breath, but could keep going. Daisy seemed game for more, but you knew you said you would be quick.
"Come on girl" you put her back on her leash and headed back up the steps and went to your room. You checked your hair to make sure it looked okay and fixed your makeup before changing your shirt since you had worked up a sweat. You put on another white t-shirt, hoping no one would notice. Daisy took a few long drinks of water before following you to the door and heading back to the living room.

When you walked in you saw almost all of the chairs were taken, and took one of the last ones.
"Finally, we thought we would have to send a search party" Nat grinned at you.
"Daisy and I went for a short run" you admitted. "She likes the new space" you looked over and smiled at her, where she was curled up on a love seat with Bruce.
"There will be new dishes here for her tomorrow morning for in the dining room, and a doggy bed" Tony announced. "My wife Pepper told me these were important for her comfort"
"That's very kind of you Tony" you gave a small smile. "What are we watching?" you looked over curiously.
"Saw" Nat grinned and you paled a little thinking Maria wasn't here to cuddle into. Daisy jumped up onto your lap immediately and groaned giving you a few licks on the face. She turned play on the movie and you looked around the room nervously. There was a spot between Bucky and Steve on the big couch, but it was the only other seat that was empty. "You sure you want to sit there?" Nat grinned.
"Psshhh.. I'm fine. Maria overstates things" you pulled Daisy closer.
"Bucky and Steve aren't a fan of horror movies, why don't you move over there so you can be front and center with them in case they need someone close by" Wanda teased.
"She said she's fine" Pietro started when Wanda slapped him.
"Yeah, sure, come over here doll" Bucky tapped the spot between him and Steve. You picked up Daisy with you as you made your way over unsurely.
"Only if it helps" you stopped in front of them.
"Take a seat doll" Steve nodded and you sat between them uncertain of what Wanda was up to. As the movie progressed and got the more gory it got, you would hold Daisy even tighter to you. You felt an arm behind you on the couch and rested your head on it. You knew instinctively it was Bucky's and you peeked at him through your eyelashes and saw him grinning to himself. A jump scare came out of nowhere and you yelped moving closer to his side and you heard Steve chuckle. When it started getting super gory you hid your face in Daisy's fur and peeked up over her for a moment waiting for it to be over. You felt Bucky's arm pull you close to his side and just hung around you. You were thankful the lights were off in the room, otherwise he would see the blush on your cheeks. There was a lot of comfort with him holding you, and you liked the way he smelled like pine and leather. You brought your legs up under you and leaned more into Bucky without any more prompting. You just hoped he wouldn't bring it up after the movie. It was going to be a one-time deal, no matter how much he screamed of sex appeal. You finally put your face into his chest when it got gorier and you wanted to yelp again.
"It's almost over doll" he whispered into the top of your head. You nodded and waited for him to tell you it was over. "Okay, its safe" he whispered after a moment and you looked up again. As the movie ended you pulled away slowly and made it look like you hadn't almost been in his lap. You saw Bucky look at you and smirk, giving you a wink. You bit your bottom lip and his eyes went to looking at your lips again and darkening again.
"Well, that was...terrible. Why did you choose this?" Bruce asked Nat gently.
"Y/N likes horror movies, at least according to Maria" Nat looked over with a grin.
"It wasn't bad" you shrugged, faking you didn't have the chills you still had.
"Alright team, bed time. We have a few recon missions coming up, and Y/N needs to start training with us" Tony announced and you bolted off the couch heading back to your room. You were embarrassed you got so scared. Your hands shook as you opened your door and you closed it behind you quickly and gave a sigh as you set Daisy down on the floor. She stretched and headed for the bed, knowing you would be heading for a shower. Your thoughts were back on the couch with Bucky. He was surprisingly gentle and easy to cuddle into. He smelled really good. This was going to be a rough few months to getting settled in, you decided. Your next-door neighbor was hot as hell and you had to put up a mental barrier on that. You grabbed your pink negligee, panties and white robe before heading to the bathroom. You turned your music back on and jumped in the shower. You blasted your music and just tried to calm your nerves while you washed with your favorite soap. When you were done, you were happily surprised to find thick towels to dry yourself off with. You put away your dirty clothes and just left your robe in the bathroom as you headed towards the bed. Daisy was already passed out and you smiled at her gently. You were just starting to get into the bed when you heard a knock.
"Just a moment" you called out and ran to get your robe and put it on. You realized you forgot the sash but were in a hurry to get to the door. You opened it up and saw Bucky who grinned widely looking you up and down. "Hi" you flushed a bit.
"Hi. Is this what you were wearing yesterday?" his voice was a little deeper than before, and he had a large grin on his face looking at you.
"Yes?" you asked, wondering if that's why he came to the door.
"I um... ahem.. I just wanted to make sure you were okay" he cleared his throat and leaned forward a little.
"Yes, of course. I'm great" you smiled at him. "Thanks for checking in Bucky"
"You like horror movies?" he gave a side smirk.
"In my defense, normally I have Maria there to be my human shield. Next time I'll just use Daisy. I'm sorry about that" you flushed.
"I didn't mind, I liked it" he winked at you.
"Well, it was a one time thing. I doubt they will pick another horror movie again soon" you shrugged.
"Its Wanda's choice next week, I can guarantee it will be another horror movie" he chuckled.
"I have Daisy" you paled at the thought of another movie night like that.
"I'll gladly be your human shield again" he winked at you again, biting his bottom lip.
"Listen handsome, you are a distraction enough as it is" you blushed. "Stop being so cute about it"
"Will you be okay for the night?" he quirked an eyebrow.
"Yes, of course. I have my Daisy and sleeping pills" you nodded.
"Sleeping pills?" he asked gently.
"I don't sleep... nightmares" you admitted.
"I get those too" he nodded. "Leave your door unlocked if you scream. If someone hears you screaming they normally bust in the door and ask questions later" he gave you some good advice.
"Thank you for that, I'll leave the door unlocked then" you nodded.
"Do you need to be restrained when you have your nightmares?" he asked curiously.
"Don't know, no one's helped me with them for years except Daisy. She normally just snuggles in more" you shrugged.
"It's important to know" Bucky gave a small smile.
"Tell you what handsome, if you hear me screaming and it isn't the good kind, you are free to come in and let me know" you gave him a wink and started to close the door. "Good night" you smiled at him.
"Good night doll" he took one last look at you and smirked to himself as he walked to his room. You closed the door the rest of the way and shuddered in a good way, thinking of all the things you'd love to do to that man. You took off your robe and slipped into bed after taking your medications. Daisy moved up in the bed to curl up against your back where you always seemed to get cold. You slowly started to fall asleep.
