You and Bucky had continued to make love all night long, only taking short naps in between. By the time you woke up, you were deliciously sore, and found yourself snuggling more into Bucky instead of getting up to put on your nightgown.
"You okay?" Bucky whispered, kissing you on the back of your neck. "I know I was a bit rougher last night..." he trailed off.
"I feel amazing, it was long overdue. I love it when you lose control with me" you purred to him.
"You're the only one I lose control with" he spoke softly. "The only one that distracts me" he finished and rubbed his hand up and down your arm. "The only person I've ever loved this deeply" he kissed the back of your shoulder.
"I've never loved anyone the way I love you" you whispered back to him. "I don't see that ever changing"
"Neither do I" he kissed your shoulder again.
"I'd better get up" you whispered after a while. "I need to keep up appearances" you looked over your shoulder and turned so you could kiss Bucky on the lips softly.
"Can't you stay?" he groaned.
"Mission first" you sighed heavily. "Soon we will start night time recons, once we know our neighbors better" you reminded him.
"I'll take an actual shower" he chuckled, and captured your lips again.
"I'll go make the coffee, feel free to join me on the patio" you nipped at his bottom lip and slipped out of bed. You grabbed a pair of light blue panties, and a light blue nightgown and put them on before your mask, your robe, and slippers. You looked over and saw Bucky was watching you with a huge smile on his face. You stopped to look in the mirror and saw more love bites from the nights activities. You gave a small giggle and headed down the stairs.
After you made the coffee for the morning, you brought Daisy outside, still smiling to yourself. You loved Bucky so much, and this mission had only proved how strong it was. You threw the ball for Daisy, and heard Laura make her way over towards the side of the fence. You looked over expectantly.
"Good morning" she smiled at you.
"Good morning" you smiled shyly back.
"Someone looks like she's having a good morning" she teased you.
"It's starting very well. It's a beautiful morning" you flushed and threw the ball for Daisy again.
"Are you looking forward to the bar-b-que?" she raised an eyebrow at you.
"James is, I'm a little nervous. I'm not so good with crowds" you sipped your coffee.
"You'll be fine. You know me, and I'll bring you around to meet the other housewives on the block" she promised.
"Did you want to come over for tea at lunch time on Monday?" you asked quickly. "Its just, we always talk over the fence, and it would be nice to have some company" you flushed again.
"I'd love to. We sometimes have garden parties around here. You'll have to come to one with me" she smiled. "It looks like James is up early with you" she gave you a wink.
"Last night was date night" you felt your cheeks pinken.
"I thought as much" she giggled. "You two can't seem to get enough of one another. I miss those days" she sighed and saw Bucky was coming outside. "I'm going to go see my Dean, and make him breakfast" she started to back up. "Don't forget the bar-b-que starts at two, we are eating at five"
"Good morning" Bucky smiled at her as he came out in a t-shirt and his pajama pants with his coffee. Daisy ran up to him to throw the ball.
"Good morning, I'll see you later" Laura smiled and walked away. Bucky sat down across from you and reached out for your hand and kissed your knuckles.
"Good morning my rose" Bucky spoke softly, but loud enough to be heard.
"Good morning my love" you smiled widely at him. You reached over and touched the mask covering his arm, and frowned a bit. He seemed to read your mind, and took your hand again.
"Did you know you look beautiful this morning?" Bucky asked as Daisy dropped the ball on his lap again. He threw it without looking, and kept his gaze on you.
"Surely not nearly as handsome as you" you giggled.
"I can't get over how lucky I am to have met someone like you" he shook his head, and leaned forward to touch your cheek. You blushed, realizing he wasn't doing mission talk. He was talking directly to you. You couldn't help the smile that came across your face. "I can still see you" he whispered softly, almost shyly.
"I can still see you too" you whispered, leaning towards him. He kissed you softly on the lips. He pulled back after a moment and threw the ball for Daisy again while you continued to sip at your coffee.
"Did the newspaper come yet?" Bucky asked you gently.
"I forgot to check the front door" you stood up and went back inside and saw the newspaper was sticking through the slot on the door. You grabbed it and came back outside and handed it to Bucky. He carefully took out the entertainment section for you that also included the comics, as well as the gardening section from the paper and handed it to you before he started on the front page. You found yourself going directly to the comics and you giggled while going through them, taking small sips of your coffee as you went. When you got to the entertainment section, you saw that Nat and Bruce had made the front page by going on a date in the city together. You could see Nat smiling purposely at the camera, and had to wonder what she was up to. They looked so cute together holding hands, you wanted to coo at the photograph.
"The Avengers made the news" you looked over the top of the paper, smiling at Bucky. "The black widow and the hulk had a date in the city"
"That's interesting, I never would have taken them to be a public pair" he gave you a small grin.
"The black widow looks fantastic. I love her makeup" you showed him the article. "They went on a date to some fancy restaurant"
"Doesn't seem news worthy" Bucky shrugged, knowing the pain of having to hide your personal life.
"They make a cute couple" you smirked and went back to reading. "You ordered the paper for just weekends, right my darling?" you asked him softly.
"I can get it during the week at work" Bucky gave you a small smile. "There's not much going on during the week. If I see something, I will bring it home to you" he reassured you.
You finished your coffee and set your section of the newspaper down. "I'll warm up your coffee before I make breakfast. Did you want bacon and eggs again?" you asked.
"I love whatever you make for me, my rose" he smirked at you, and threw the ball for Daisy. You went in and got the pot of coffee and came out to warm up his cup before going back inside. You put your coffee cup in the sink and started taking the bacon out of the fridge. You opened the window so you could look out at Bucky and Daisy outside.
"Are we still going for groceries tomorrow?" you called out.
"As soon as we are done at the farmers market" Bucky looked over and smiled at you. "I want you to be able to go nuts on fruits and vegetables like you normally do before we go to the grocery store"
"You know me well" you giggled and went back to making breakfast.
Once you were done making breakfast, you brewed another pot of coffee, washing your cup quickly before filling it up again. You plated breakfast and brought it outside so you both could enjoy your breakfast together outside.
"Oh my rose, you don't have to bring it outside" Bucky grinned at you.
"James, its beautiful outside. Please, I just want to enjoy the sun for a little bit longer. Besides, the garden looks beautiful" you set the cutlery down. Bucky put this paper down and started eating as you sat across from him.
"Anything for you, my rose" Bucky winked at you. "You spoil me, I love your breakfasts"
"Anything for you, my love" you cooed to him.
"There's not much in the newspaper that's worth talking about. Stark industries are working on expanding their research on power supply that would be environmentally friendly" he reported to you.
"That would be wonderful. Sounds costly" you took a bite of bacon.
"They want it to be cost efficient so everyone can use it" he smiled at you. "I think it would be good if they can come up with it"
"That Tony Stark is a genius" you admitted. "If he helps, he will make it happen" you shrugged.
"He did make himself a suit of armor in a cave with scraps" Bucky chuckled. "Not just anyone can do that"
"That's true" you nodded slightly as you continued to eat. You quickly finished, and saw Bucky was already done. You picked up the dishes and went and put them in the sink before coming back outside to finish your coffee and your newspaper.
"I can get the dishes" Bucky finished his coffee.
"Don't you dare, I'll get it. Let me finish my paper" you smirked at him. "You do the supper dishes during the week, let me continue doing the breakfast ones"
"You always keep the house so clean, it's the least I can do" he shrugged still getting up. You glared at him and he chuckled again. "I'm just going to warm up our coffee's then" he went inside to get the pot and brought it out and filled up both cups again. When he came back, he silently threw the ball for Daisy and went back to his newspaper, every once in a while looking up seeing you enjoying your paper. He decided then, no matter what, once this mission was over he was going to ask Fury for permission to marry you. Time didn't matter, but your love did. He couldn't imagine a day without you. You made his life complete, and that's all that mattered.
He thought about last night, how you had taken him so off guard with how forward you were with your affections. He loved how you had taken over, and even ordered him to be rougher with you. The fact that you were so trusting every time you made love together, always startled him. You even would kiss his vibranium arm when making love to him, and seemed to revel in when he used it on you. He loved how you both had made a small family here. It was no different at the compound. The only difference here, was there wasn't the team to have all your meals with, or training. You were living a normal life together. He knew you weren't ready for a normal life yet, the Avenger's life is the one that you had chosen for now. But once the Avengers were no longer needed, he could only see you both going into a domesticated life like this. He only hoped it would be one that you wouldn't have to hide anymore with masks.
"You almost done your paper, rose?" he asked you gently, and his heart started beating faster as you looked up at him with a secret smile.
"All done, my love" you whispered. He took your hand and kissed the knuckles again. He just couldn't get enough.
