Broken Fever?

With the combined body heat from Bucky, and the medication by morning your fever finally broke. You didn't feel as loopy or tired. You snuggled more into Bucky enjoying the body warmth and just the moment alone with him. A nurse came in and took your vitals and temperature and gave you a soft smile. Bucky stirred as she came in, and his breath that was so even previously on the back of your neck slowed for a moment and you felt him move back slightly.
"Fever is finally down" the nurse smiled at you.
"I had the best nights sleep in a while" you admitted with a blush.
"I can see that" she winked. "I'll go let Doctor Cho know" she walked out.
"Good morning doll" Bucky kissed the back of your neck.
"Good morning Bucky bear" you leaned back into him a little. He chuckled and pulled you close.
"Best night's sleep in a while?" he asked teasingly.
"It was the truth" you flushed looking over your shoulder at him. He was grinning ear to ear.
"Maybe you can finally come home now" he leaned up and gave you a kiss on the cheek.
"I'd like to" you admitted. "I miss the team, and I miss Daisy"
"And me of course" he chuckled.
"That goes without saying" you flushed.
"I heard you've been low" he pulled you in close.
"I just keep thinking I could have done things differently on that mission" you admitted. "I killed a lot of people" you spoke softly. "That's been all I can think about"
"You did what you had ta do, it was a set up" he reminded you gently. "You are going ta have to start talking ta someone about these things"
"I just talked to you, Bucky" you nuzzled back into him more.
"You know what I meant doll" he rubbed your hip.
"Alright, time to get up and see you move" Doctor Cho came in. You groaned a little and started to sit up, getting out of Bucky's embrace. You stood up and wobbled a little, but grabbed the chair to help get your bearings. Bucky stood up quickly and came around the bed to give you a hand. You walked across to the window and felt exhausted from it. "We will switch you out to antibiotic pills instead, but you need to rest for a bit. I'll agree to send you back to the compound as long as they keep you monitored"
"Is that safe?" Bucky asked hesitantly.
"As long as she's monitored. If she goes downhill, she needs to come back" she nodded. "But she needs to start getting her strength up, and she won't do that here. Its not helping her mentally. Nice move sneaking in Daisy last night" she winked at Bucky. He flushed a bit and looked away. "I'll get you a change of clothes and a prescription"
"I need to go to my old apartment for a bit" you looked at Bucky as you tried to walk across the room again.
"What for doll?" he looked confused.
"I need a shower" you grimaced. "I don't know how you slept beside me last night"
"Take one when you get home" he shook his head. "I'm going to pack you up" he started grabbing your things and putting them in one spot.
"Don't forget my flowers" you flushed. "The other ones are probably dead" you admitted.
"You'll see for yourself" he chuckled. Doctor Cho came back in and handed you a Shield uniform and undergarments. You went into the bathroom while she gave Bucky a large reusable black bag, and the prescription for you to get filled before you went home. He filled it, and took your flowers out of water while you changed and brushed your teeth in your bathroom. You could still see the blood residue on your skin and it looked like rust on your skin. You came out of the bathroom, after having to rip out the IV so you could change. You brought the pole over and Doctor Cho frowned at you before grabbing a band-aid and putting it over the wound. You sat down in the chair for a moment and hung your head, feeling exhausted from just a little bit of movement. You did more this morning than you had since you arrived.
"I'll bring this out to the car first" Bucky leaned down and gave you a kiss on the cheek and left quickly with the flowers and the bag. When he came back, he didn't miss a beat and picked you up like a princess and backed out of the room. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders and leaned against him wondering how badly you must smell but he didn't seem to mind.
He set you down long enough to open the passenger side, and picked you up to slide you in. He went so far as to buckle you in.
"Buck... you don't have to keep doing all this" you blushed.
"Let me take care of my dame" he leaned in and kissed you softly on the lips. "We are going to the pharmacy first"
"I don't have my purse with me" you shook your head.
"Its on the family account, don't worry about it" he put the car into gear and started driving out of the parking lot. You closed your eyes and rested your head against the window falling asleep before long.
