Newbie (Bucky x Reader)

A continuation

As soon as you were done eating, you both shared the tiramisu. Bucky had a huge grin on his face, but wasn't letting on what was going on.
"Is this a breaking up with me date?" you finally asked what was causing you the most anxiety.
"God no" Bucky lost his smile and shook his head. "It's a date for just the two of us, where we can be ourselves"
"What's with the notecards?" you raised an eyebrow.
"It's a surprise. You love puzzles" he chuckled and leaned over to kiss you softly. "Stop worrying, just enjoy the night" he whispered to you.
"You're being secretive, with missions without me now?" you crossed your arms.
"You'll understand and know everything by the end of the night, I promise" he sighed. "Please dance with me" he stood up and nodded to Pietro who was over in the corner again. You heard Louis Armstrong's deep baritone voice singing "What a wonderful world" as Bucky pulled you in for another dance. He moved slowly around the table, keeping you close to his body and humming to the music as he went. You tried to push down your anxiety and leaned more into him as he danced you around the room. The song changed, but you weren't paying attention to what was playing anymore. You were focused on the melody and the way he was holding you as if he would never let go. You sighed against his chest and he kissed the top of your head. You wondered again what he was up to. You thought of the cards, and they were pointing out what the places each meant, but they also had You and Me written on the back. You wondered what kind of puzzle it was. You also wondered why he was being so secretive all of the sudden. You liked knowing where he was, and to not know that he had actually taken a day off work was a little alarming that he never told you about it. You finally decided to just go with the flow, and try to stop overthinking everything.
"Seven months, and we are going to be parents" Bucky whispered to you.
"I can hardly wait. I've never thought of being a parent until I met you" you sighed softly.
"Come on, we still have some places to go" he leaned down and claimed your lips again. You sighed happily, and leaned into him more, holding onto him as tightly as you could. You were worried the fact that children were suddenly in the picture that Bucky was second guessing things. He wasn't really giving you that impression, he was being loving as he always was. Somewhat even more so today, than usual. It made you suspicious, but at the same time the logical part of your mind reminded you that Bucky would never do anything to hurt you. He loves you, and you love him.
"Doll?" Bucky pulled back and looked down at you with questions in his eyes.
"Where to now?" you bit your bottom lip.
"You'll see" he chuckled. "Thank you boys" he called to Peter and Pietro.

When you got outside Happy opened the back of the limo again, and you slipped in while Bucky followed you quickly. Bucky took your hand and kissed your knuckles as Happy started driving. You looked out the window and watched the scenery change curiously.
"What are you thinking about doll?" Bucky whispered.
"This, I'm curious as to what you are up to. We should be on the mission still" you reminded him.
"Tony is watching the camera's and keeping me updated. Ron went in and put a camera in the living room. He still hasn't gone upstairs, which is good. I'm going to conveniently find the camera and the bugs when we get home tonight and put them into evidence bags for later. I'll start putting all the evidence we find into the basement, and set up down there going forward" he gave you a smile.
"I'm curious as to what's in his basement that he's been working on" you bit your bottom lip. "I want to go and take a look"
"You can't yet, we still need to blend in" Bucky shook his head.
"I've been blending" you shrugged. "I've been doing a lot of blending"
"You've been doing great doll" he leaned over and kissed your cheek. "Laura seems really fond of you"
"We talk every morning, and sometimes in the afternoon" you gave a smile. "I need to start getting to know Stephanie a bit more. I invited her over for tea"
"That's a great idea. That gets us one step closer to knowing their schedule a bit better" Bucky smiled at you. You snuggled into Bucky as the car continued to drive, and he offered you a bottle of water while Happy kept the screen up between you. You noticed that you were getting into the outskirts of the city and Happy stopped the limo and came over to open the doors for you both.
"I'll wait here" he smirked at you both while Bucky waited for you to get out. He took your hand, and you realized that you were at the place you went for your second date. You tried to walk on your tip toes more as you both went through the trees and got to the clearing where you saw Loki standing with Steve and Thor.
"Hey Newbie" Steve grinned at you.
"Darling, I trust you are doing well" Loki grinned.
"Its so good to see you again lady Y/N" Thor boomed. You ran to the three of them, and Steve picked you up quickly for a hug.
"This is for you" Steve handed you a white card, and you looked at it. On the back had the word "Will", and the front said "The place I fell in love with you". You quickly put it in your purse, and felt Loki grab you for a moment and you pulled him into a hug while he put his hand on your stomach.
"Let me have my turn brother" Thor boomed and you turned to him once Loki let you go, and he gave you a wink. Thor held you close for a moment and smiled.
"You look like you are doing really well" Steve grinned.
"It seems that James is taking good care of our Newbie" Loki smiled at Bucky, and you knew that was one of the nicest things he's likely ever said to him. "She's simply glowing" he grinned and you saw Bucky flush. You looked over and saw one of the SUV's parked to the side.
"How are you boys?" you asked them curiously. "I've missed you"
"We all miss you, we keep updated with your daily updates. We also watch you on the video camera's" Steve grinned. "You dance a lot when you are cleaning, its too bad we didn't put in audio. Happy misses hearing you sing"
"We all do" Thor spoke gently. "It is a morning ritual we all miss"
"I'll be back soon enough" you grinned.
"Thank you James for letting us be apart of your date, but I do believe you are going to be late" Loki looked at his watch pointedly.
"Come on doll" Bucky picked you up so you wouldn't have to dirty your heels anymore than you already have.
"But, I barely got to see them" you giggled. "I love the card, so this is where you realized you loved me?" you bit your bottom lip as he jogged back to the limo and Happy automatically opened the door. Bucky let you on your feet so you could slide in.
"Second date I was already falling hard" he grinned at you as he slid in beside you. You automatically slipped over the seat as Happy closed the door and you slid onto his lap. He grinned and leaned up to capture your lips, and you opened for him to deepen the kiss automatically. "It took me a long time to realize what I was feeling was real" he pulled back from the kiss.
"Barnes, shut up and kiss me already" you put a hand on each of his cheeks and leaned back in.
"Yes mam" he chuckled and started kissing you again. You earlier anxiety was leaving you, and you were just enjoying the moment that you had with him. Whatever it was that he had planned out, you would find out soon enough. You concentrated on the way his body felt against yours, and how good it felt to kiss him without the mesh of the mask in the way for the moment. You normally had to wait for bedtime to enjoy that. Right now it was still daytime, and you could be yourself for a few minutes. You thought back to the few dates you had been to this same place, as Happy drove away, and you thought of the night where you both wished on a thousand falling stars. You had secretly wished for so many things, but the moments you were having with Bucky you cherished. And now you also cherished the little lives that were inside of you. You were terrified, but at the same time excited that you were taking this step with Bucky. You couldn't imagine it with anyone else.

Happy was driving for about half an hour, and you had spent a majority of that time on Buckys lap kissing him or nuzzling into him when you both needed a small break. It wasn't like you could take it any further in the back of the limo with Happy driving. You looked out the window and saw you were at the compound. Happy opened the door, and you jumped out automatically wanting to see the rest of the family.
"Hold on doll" Bucky called to you. "We have one stop to make first" he warned you.
"But, everyone else should be here, and I haven't seen them in forever" you trailed off looking at him.
"Trust in me" he smiled softly and took your hand. He brought you to the front door and kissed you softly on the lips before opening the door and leading you inside. You noticed the hallways were dark, and lit only by small tealight candles. Bucky led you to a door, and opened it for you to walk in. You blinked at the sudden lights as you went in, and saw you were in a living room of dark blues and moss green. The floors were all a dark wood, and there was a small carpet by the door. You walked in and looked around curiously. You saw a small kitchenette down by the windows at the end of the room, and a door to the right of you. Bucky led you to the door and you saw it was your old bedroom, but looked much larger. The dents you had both made in the walls were gone, but your photos were still there. Your book cases had been moved to the living room outside your bedroom door. You saw the closet had both your uniforms in it standing out clearly.
"Its our new home when we are done our mission" he whispered softly to you and you saw the tealights were on the floor leading to the balcony. He led you towards the balcony and you saw a notecard on the swing. The sun was starting to set as you got there and you picked up the notecard. The front said "The place I wished I could spend the rest of my life with you". You gasped and looked at Bucky flipping it over as he knelt down in front of you, and you saw the word "Marry" on the back.
"I'm not asking because of the miracles that you are carrying. I'm asking because I can't see my life without you. You Y/N, have been my own miracle. Never did I expect meeting you, the day I talked Tony into letting me come ask you to join the team. But I'm so glad it happened. You are everything to me. Will you marry me?" he asked you softly and you smiled at him, taking in the moment.
