Newbie (Bucky x Reader)

Second date

By the time you were done doing your makeup, you barely had time to make it to supper. You had lost track of time trying to make sure every detail was as perfect as you could get it. You really liked Bucky, and he woke up feelings inside of you that you had previously thought were dead. You took one last look in the mirror and called Daisy to follow you to the dining room.
"Wow" Bucky stood up as you came in, he was in a dark blue Henley and a pair of black jeans. He was already ready to go. "You look great doll" he smiled looking you over.
"You look wonderful" Nat chimed in. "I can't wait for us to go shopping now. I like your taste"
"Happy ordered in butter chicken, rice and samosas" Tony let you know as you sat down. You gave a smile and sat down in front of your take out box.
"Thank you Happy" you gave a smile.
"It went on the corporate account, I was just craving something different" he shrugged.
"That's true, if you ever feel like ordering in ask Friday so it goes on the corporate account" Pepper gave you a soft smile.
"I'll keep that in mind" you started digging in, and moaned in spite of yourself. It was delicious. "This is really good"
"So tonight is your second date, are you excited?" Scott chirped up from his end of the table and you flushed.
"Yes" you nodded, and Bucky grinned looking at you. "Although I normally stop at two dates as a rule" you admitted, and Bucky looked worried. "I might make an exception" you gave him a smile, and he seemed to visibly relax.
"Is that because sex is expected at the third date?" Loki asked bluntly.
"That, and there's no connection" you shrugged.
"I don't expect sex on the third date" Bucky whispered to you.
"That's because you're a gentleman" you winked at him. "Thank you"
"He's going to hope for it" Sam teased and you flushed.
"Bird man, one of these days I'm going to take you to school in the ring" your face was bright red.
"Promises, promises. I bet your legs are still hurting from this morning" he grinned.
"Wouldn't stop me from kicking your ass" you chuckled. "And for your information, I'm pretty sure your legs are hurting more than mine"
"I barely feel them" he lied.
"Mind if I watch Daisy tonight?" Steve asked, trying to stop the banter between you and Sam.
"If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it" you gave an appreciative smile. "Miss Daisy still needs to go for her walk though"
"Pretty sure we can handle that" Pietro grinned. "I like that she runs as much as I do"
"Your father made a request for you tonight" Tony spoke up. "He said he needs help with a mission with a cartel down in Mexico. It's a week long mission"
"I don't work for Shield anymore" you were careful to keep your face blank. You remembered the last time you were on a mission for him with the cartel, you barely made it out with your life. They were preparing to skin you alive before you had to resort to using your full powers. The jet was about to leave when you made it out.
"That's what I told him. He asked as a personal favor to have you brought in. I wanted to know your thoughts on it" Tony leaned forward.
"The last time didn't end very well that he got me to go" you bit your lip. "But he must be desperate"
"Its your choice, he wants you to leave on Saturday with a new partner. He has Maria with him already. Its apparently some guy you've dealt with before named Anthony" Tony watched you closely and saw your face drop a little. Bucky looked at you worriedly.
"That's the imp I see" Loki mused. "Its not a good idea, he's a useless agent"
"I need to think about it" you finally sighed. "I might as well be going by myself. What's the mission?"
"Recon mission, you just need to get in and get the info then get out and come home. They think it will take a week based on their security" Tony explained.
"They almost left her to die last time Tony" Wanda was in your head again.
"I can handle it, I just want to think about it" you bit your bottom lip.
"What if I go with her?" Bucky asked. "We can bring Nat or Steve too"
"Too many of us show up, they will clam up. I already suggested sending the team. He just wants the one" Tony shook his head.
"I'll go" you decided.
"You don't want to" Loki pointed out.
"No, I really don't. But he asked as a favor, he must be desperate. Besides, its just a recon, and those are my jam" you gave a false smile. You didn't want to be partnered with Anthony under any circumstance.
"I want the tracker put in you before you go, just in case" Bruce spoke up. "Its standard with the Avengers"
"You could have put it in me last night" you smiled easily at him.
"I wasn't worried last night" Bruce admitted.
"Don't worry about me. I've got this" you continued to eat your food. "Stevie, can you watch Daisy?"
"If its not him, one of us will watch her. Not to worry, you are with the team now" Pietro gave a smile. "We will treat her as the princess she is"
"Thank you" you let out a breath of relief. You mused that this was one of the first times you could really relax around a group of people. You looked at Bucky and gave him a smile before returning to your food.
