Loki's confession

By the time Bucky got home, you had the laundry done and you had taken the time to work in the garden before making chicken parmesan with spaghetti and vegetables for supper. You were getting tired quickly, but you knew that likely had to do with anxiety of all the news you had gotten today. You thought back, and remembered that early in the pregnancy, now that you knew about it, you had also been drinking. You had gotten drunk the first time you tried to tell Bucky you loved him. You were ashamed that you hadn't caught on back then. You were disappointed in yourself in not realizing that something was wrong where you hadn't had your period yet. You thought back to all the times that Loki had laid on your lap as a cat and really had to consider if he would even know that early. If you were to call him, it would be letting the cat out of the bag. But you also needed answers.
When you heard Bucky pull in the driveway you ran out to meet him and jumped in his arms to give him a kiss as soon as he got out of the car. He easily kissed you back before picking you up and carrying you back in the house. He looked over towards Ron's house and gave a nod before he brought you in.
"How was my rose today?" he asked gently.
"Still anxious" you admitted.
"You have nothing to be worried about" he reassured you. "I just saw Ron, he's walking with a mean limp today. I hope he's okay"
"I'm sure he's fine" you smiled over at Daisy as he set you on your feet. "I made supper, and the laundry is done and already put away" you gave him an update.
"You spoil me" Bucky leaned down and brushed his lips against yours again. You led him to the dining room where you had even lit some candles for supper and had his beer ready for him by his plate. He grinned happily and pulled out your chair for you to sit down. Once you were in your seat, he sat down as well. "You still up for that drive tonight?" he looked at you before he started digging into his food.
"Just for a few minutes" you nodded. "It was nice getting out today, and I just want to run into the store for a moment" you lied, and Bucky knew as much since you knew there was bugs in the room.
"This is perfect" Bucky smiled at you as he took his first bite of chicken. "How did I get so lucky to have a wife that can cook this good?" he hummed happily.
"I have the extra time since you're at work all day" you grinned. "I'm glad you like it my love"
"I'm a lucky man" he sighed and took a drink of his beer.
"I think I'm a lucky woman" you winked at him.
"How about we are both lucky" he leaned over in his chair and gave you a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Tell me about work today" you smiled at him, changing the subject.
"The boys are pretty excited for us. I told them we had just started trying, so it was a surprise you were already there. We did a few oil changes, and brake changes. I have some tire changes scheduled for tomorrow" he smirked at you. "Its all pretty easy jobs, nothing extravagant yet" he grinned at you. "There wasn't much for news in the paper, I had time to check that" he added.
"That's good, I mean, at least there's no bad news" you smiled, and continued eating. Bucky started telling you about some of the cars that he had seen come in. There were a lot of classics he was pretty excited about. He liked working on them the best. You told him about your tea with Laura, and how the couple next door met. You told him you were excited to have tea with her again, since she seemed like a very nice person. You both finished eating, and you put the dishes in the kitchen. Bucky started washing the dishes right away, and you ran upstairs to grab the burner phone to put in your purse. You were nervous about calling Loki, but you needed to know. You decided to take a moment to use the facilities before you went back downstairs, and Bucky was just finishing up.

Bucky drove you to what his colleagues told him was the make out point for the locals. It was off a dirt road a bit, and had a spectacular view of the small town. You smiled happily, and unbuckled your seatbelt seeing that it was just the two of you here. You leaned across the center console and put your head on Bucky's shoulder for a moment and he kissed you on top of your head.
"You sure you are ready for this?" he asked gently. "He might not know"
"I have a feeling he knows" you bit your bottom lip and pulled out the burner phone. You put it on speaker and hit speed dial on the name Mischief. It rang a few times before you heard the phone pick up.
"Darling, how are you doing?" you heard Loki's voice on the phone, and then heard a few grunts followed by some screams.
"I'm good, what are you doing?" you paused before asking.
"Oh you know, just stabbing a few people. I'm on a mission with Thor and Lady Natasha. We were getting some intel, however we were discovered so we are just doing a little clean up" you heard him grunt again as you heard another scream.
"Am I on speaker?" you asked quickly.
"Of course not, I can wield a dagger and a phone at the same time. One moment" you heard another few screams, and what you could swear was the sound of his hair flipping before he came back to the phone. "How are you feeling, Lady Y/N? How is your mission going?"
"Well..." you started.
"We miss the team, but we had some news today and wanted to ask about a few things" Bucky stepped in when you hesitated.
"Ah, so you've finally figured it out" Loki paused for a moment. "Congratulations"
"So, you did know!" you exclaimed.
"Of course, I knew. What do you take me for? Some kind of lower level mage? I am a prince darling, and a God" Loki sounded amused.
"Did you put a spell on me?" you asked softly.
"I have been, yes. You've had missions, and after all the recovery you went through, I didn't think you'd appreciate the morning sickness. That spell is going to wear off in a weeks time. The last time I could cast it was just before you left" he lowered his voice.
"Why didn't you tell me? If Bucky hadn't pointed out that I hadn't had two periods..." you started.
"Midgardian woman are so sensitive about being asked, and shouldn't you both have realized it sooner?" he asked casually.
"Loki, I drank alcohol and coffee" you whined.
"It wasn't my place. One moment" you heard him stab a few more people through the phone, and he sounded a little out of breath. "You would think the fiends would have understood that I am a force to be reckoned with by now" he growled. "Now darling, did you want me to come visit to do the spell again? I'm sure I can make an excuse to disappear for a few days" Loki offered.
"As much as we miss you, we are close to finding the gun seller I think. The next door neighbor bugged the house on the main floor. I don't mind the morning sickness. I should have been dealing with this a while ago" you decided.
"Winter soldier, you miss me?" Loki asked, sounding amused.
"Don't push your luck pal. She misses you" Bucky chuckled a little.
"At most you only have a few weeks of morning sickness to deal with before that part's over" Loki sighed. "Have you two been enjoying married life?" he asked, and you heard another scream of pain.
"We love it" you both said at the same time.
"How is the sex without an audience?" Loki chuckled and you immediately blushed at the same time as Bucky.
"Our next door neighbors could hear us, so we had to close the window's. But its been wonderful not to hold back" you admitted.
"I'm enjoying that too" Bucky grinned.
"Are we keeping your secret a secret still?" Loki hesitated before asking.
"Yes please, I need to inform my father first after the mission is over" you sighed. "I appreciate what you did for me, but the next time, if there is a next time, please let me know"
"You have my word" Loki promised. "Be careful on that mission. I would hate to have to kill someone because either of you got hurt"
"So you do care about Bucky" you cooed into the phone.
"He's important to you, therefore, I need to care a little bit" Loki chuckled. "I do need to get back to that oaf of a brother of mine. He seems to be causing structural damage and Lady Natasha is still inside the building"
"Okay, thank you Loki. We love you" you called into the phone.
"Bye Loki" Bucky said a little louder.
"Be safe, both of you" Loki paused before he hung up.
You and Bucky both looked at each other and sighed. You bit your bottom lip and leaned sideways to put your head on his shoulder. He kissed the top of your head, and you nuzzled in.
"It's going to be okay" Bucky whispered.
"I got drunk since I've been pregnant because I didn't know" you looked up at him.
"The night you first tried to tell me you love me" he remembered.
"Next time Loki will let you know" Bucky gave a small smile. "We will have them do tests to make sure the babies are okay" he reassured you.
"Bucky, I'm worried I hurt them" you felt tears welling up in your eyes.
"We will deal with it when the time comes. Right now we can only hope that they are healthy and look like you" he gave a grin.
"I wanted them to look like you" you countered quickly.
"Come on, lets go home doll. We can curl up on the couch and cuddle a bit before we go to bed" he promised you.
"Can we work on a few puzzles?" you asked hopefully.
"I promise" he nodded and started the car back up to drive home.
