Daisy

When you got back to your room you heard a gentle knock at the door. You were just about to read for a few minutes before getting ready for your date. You had already decided on a nice red blouse that was a little revealing, and your leather jacket and a pair of knee high boots since you would be taking the motorcycle. You were admittedly excited for the date, for a change. You liked Bucky so far. He was a gentleman, and treated you like a lady. He had a way of making you feel desirable by just looking at you. You saw Daisy was already passed out in her nest on your no longer made bed and gave a small smile to yourself.
"Come in" you called, and saw Bucky open the door with a wide grin.
"Hey doll" he came in and closed the door behind him.
"Hey handsome, how are you doing?" you smiled at him.
"I was more worried about you, Fury seemed to give you a hard time at breakfast" he had a look of concern on his face.
"He has a theory to trust no one, and play your cards close to your chest. We butt heads over that. I've never been a fan of it" you shrugged. "We butt heads over a few things" you admitted.
"Like what?" he took a seat on your couch staring at you as you sat beside him.
"Stupid things really, I just tell him to get over it" you shrugged.
"I heard you tell him you like someone" he gave a flirty grin.
"I do" you flushed. "I thought that was obvious"
"I'm pretty obvious about the dame I like too" he winked at you.
"I am excited for our date" you whispered a little. "This isn't going to be one of those times where I get ready and you have other plans, right?"
"I made sure that everyone knows that I'm unavailable for the afternoon" he grinned. "Want to watch that show again for a bit?" he quirked an eyebrow.
"Sure" you got up and got your laptop. You came back and put it on the coffee table, turning Brooklyn Nine Nine again. You resumed at the episode that Bucky left it at, and set it so he could see it a bit better.
"Come here" he put his arm around your shoulders and pulling you close. You leaned into him after pulling the computer to be more in front of him and snuggled in. You peered up at him through your eyelashes and couldn't help the smile that went across your face. He was smiling to himself, and looked at you biting his lip slightly before licking them and giving another flirty smirk.
"Stop being so cute" you giggled.
"You're the one that's adorable and sexy as hell" he grumbled.
"Agree to disagree" you shook your head, turning your head back to the show.
"I like this show, I'm glad you introduced me to it" he chuckled as he watched.
"Its one of my favorites to relax to" you nodded, leaning more into him. He pulled you under his arm more so you were square against his chest and had a grin on his face. You heard a knock at the door, and rolled your eyes. You pulled away slightly to look over. "Come in"
Steve walked in and couldn't hide the grin on his face seeing the two of you together. "Hey, I just wanted that list for Daisy" he came over standing like he felt awkward.
"Grab a seat punk" Bucky grinned at him. "This show is great" You just tapped the seat beside you and he sat down and started watching it with the two of you. You got up after a few minutes and grabbed your phone from the charger.
"What's your number?" you asked Steve as you sat back down between them. He listed it off, and you sent him a long text with all the emergency phone numbers etc that he might need.
"The treats are in the closet, on top of the dresser, she can have as many as she wants" you gave a smile. "She likes her people food at meals, if you have some to share" you added.
"We noticed" Steve chuckled at the show. "What is this?"
"Brooklyn nine nine" Bucky answered for you. "She introduced me to it the other night" he pulled you back in to snuggle into him.
"So the big date is today?" Steve asked and you looked at him with a flush on your cheeks.
"I tell him everything" Bucky admitted.
"After lunch, but I'll have to get ready in an hour" you shrugged. "I want to make myself presentable"
"You already look perfect" Bucky grinned at you.
"Stop being cute" you giggled.
"Yeah, I'm not worried anymore" Steve shook his head. "Good choice jerk"
"Aren't you enjoying the show Helpful?" you looked at Steve with a grin.
"It's funny, I like it" he nodded approvingly.
"Can you watch Daisy while we are out after lunch?" you bit your bottom lip, and he nodded.
"We need to get our test run for tomorrow" Steve nodded, and you heard Daisy yawn loudly from the bed. "She seriously makes a nest?" he chuckled.
"All the time" you smiled looking over at her, loving how all you could see were her two big ears sticking out. "I was thinking of buying her, her own blanket to see if she would leave my blankets alone at one point. I never have gotten around to it" you admitted.
"How old is she?" Bucky asked gently.
"Three, she's been the love of my life for three wonderful years" you smiled. "Pop's says I love her too much, but I don't see how that's possible. When you love someone, it brings you peace"
"What made you decide to get a dog?" Bucky asked gently.
"I'd been alone most of my life, and I couldn't sleep anymore even with the pills. I thought I would get a cat to keep me company, but I was walking past this kid on the street selling these puppies that were barely old enough to be away from their mother. She fit in the palm of my hand, had these tiny floppy ears and I thought why not. I didn't think she would grow to be a medium size dog when I started carrying her around when I got anxious. But I started sleeping again, and she wakes me up when the nightmares are starting to get bad. Its her ears that always make me giggle, they are the size of her head now and stand up straight" you admitted, biting your bottom lip again. "She makes everything seem bearable"
"What kind of dog is she?" Steve chuckled seeing the ears twitch in her sleep.
"A mutt, but she looks like a German shepherd mixed with a corgi. She has the butt, and the short little legs, long body... and the shepherd coloring, tail and ears" you smiled. "I didn't really ask what the parents were, I just fell in love with that little face"
"Does she ever not wake you up from your nightmares?" Bucky seemed curious.
"If I'm in too deep of a sleep, she tries but I sometimes still wake up screaming. Its not as often as it used to be" you admitted and felt Bucky pull you closer. "Alpine helps you too, doesn't he?"
"Yeah, he's there when I wake up and just purrs really loud and won't leave me alone until I relax" he chuckled. "He likes to stand on my shoulder all the time and watch what I'm doing. I have to fight him to stay out of the gym, I don't want him getting hurt"
"Since the ban is off animals, I've been wanting to get a dog for company" Steve admitted after a brief silence.
"Do it" you looked at him with a huge smile. "Please do it!"
"Tony might have a heart attack. You should totally do it" Bucky grinned.
"Maybe" Steve shrugged.
"You two watch the show, I have something to do" you got up.
"Where are you going?" Bucky smiled at you.
"Putting my make up on, and getting changed. I have a real date today" you winked at him and went into the closet briefly before going into the bathroom and closing the door. Daisy woke up with a snort and let out a grumble before getting out of bed and jumping up between them and laying on her back asking for belly rubs. It didn't take long for them to comply with her doggy demands.

"What are you thinking about jerk?" Steve spoke gently to Bucky.
"That I don't want to screw this up punk" Bucky whispered back.
"Just be yourself" Steve shook his head.
"I'm trying to be, stop making me nervous" he sat back on the couch a bit.
"Did you get the flowers yet?" Steve grinned.
"Of course, I got them, they're in my room. I got her roses" he grinned with pride.
"What are your plans for where to go?" Steve whispered.
"Walk through central park, grab ice cream, maybe go for coffee after?" Bucky whispered.
"Don't be late for supper, you know how Tony gets" Steve warned him.
"I've got it all planned out, we won't be late" Bucky shook his head. "We will even have time to take Daisy for a walk after supper before game night"
"About game night, just a warning, Loki and Thor brought their Asgaurdian mead. Tony is already ordering a lot of alcohol for the night" Steve warned him.
"Shit, he's going all out again?" Bucky flinched.
"He wants to see how the newbie stands apparently" Steve dodged a slap from Bucky. "That was his wording"
