Chapter 71: Nancy (hangout Part 1, With The Older Teens)

Max's pov

We got into Nancy's car. El and I held hands during the car ride. "Are you guys okay?" Nancy randomly asked. Will fell asleep. He likes sleeping in the car for some reason.

"Yeah we're fine" el and I said at the same time. "Are you sure? It's so quiet, no one is talking. Did anything happen at the mall?" Nancy asked. El and I looked at each other. El nodded. "oh um, it's just a guy in my class" I said.

Nancy frowned. I could tell by the car mirror. "what happened? Did he hurt you-" Nancy asked worriedly. "No, he just has feelings for me and keeps talking to me. He kissed me twice and its pissing me off" I said.

El squeezed my hand. "What?!" Nancy said angrily. "Alright if he touches you one more time-" Nancy said. "Nancy it's fine, we'll handle it" I said. "What happened after? Didn't you kill him or something" Nancy joked

"almost" el said. "Oh" Nancy said. "Will punched him and then el did as well because he kept saying some really stupid stuff" I said. "As you should!!" Nancy said. "what did he tell you?" Nancy asked.

We started telling her everything. I knew we could trust Nancy. It looks like Robin hadn't told her anything. Robin always keeps my secrets fortunately. The nick situation wasn't a secret exactly but yeah.

*at Mike's house (sleepover)*

Robin and Steve told us that they would arrive in about half an hour. "Nancy wanna join us-" Dustin suggested we got in the house. Nancy didn't know Robin and Steve would come over. "Shut up Dustin" Mike said nudging Dustin's arm.

"Why don't you want your sister to join us?" Dustin asked. "Cause" Mike said with a weird tune. "Join you where exactly?" Nancy asked confused. "Robin and Steve are coming over, we're gonna hang out" Dustin said.

Nancy looked at me for some reason once Dustin mentioned Robin. "Uhh sure" Nancy said. El and I looked at each other and smiled. I love how we could talk and thin of the same thing only by eye contact.

We all went to the basement. Nancy went to her room. "I'll be back" Nancy announced. "Are you seriously gonna hang out with my friends and I" Mike asked annoyed.

"What's your problem Mike? If you don't want me there I won't come jeez plus I will probably be with Robin most of the time" Nancy said. Nancy and Mike always argue so it was normal. Mike just rolled his eyes. "Fine whatever, join us I guess" Mike said.

El and I sat on the couch. The boys were setting up monopy on the table again., "Are to dumb? We won't all fit on this small table here" Dustin said. "Yeah dude" lucas agreed. "Let's go upstairs to play on the dinner table then" mike said.

"Did you eat my chips lucas?" Dustin asked going through his bag. "No!" lucas said. They then argued a little as usual for fun. I heard el giggling next to me. "it's so funny when they argue" el said. I laughed. "yeah they are" I said.

My smile faded as soon as I remembered what happened. I've been trying to forget all of those things about nick and stuff all day but they wouldn't go away. "Max.. Stop thinking about it" el said softly. I turned and looked at her.

"yeah you're right, I'm trying" I said. She smiled sadly. "Are you okay?" I asked. She looked down. "Yeah, I'm just.. Mostly mad now than upset, if that makes sense" el said. "it does make sense" I replied.

"You know what, just screw him max, we won't let him ruin our sleepover and relationship, it's not worth it. I can't really stop thinking about him kissing you but I'm working on it. If we keep talking about what happened the past few days nothing will change" el said.

I gasped dramatically. "did el Jane hopper just curse?!" I joked. She giggled. "Maybe, it's not my fault I've got max mayfield as my girlfriend" el said giggling. I laughed and blushed. Girlfriend. What a beautiful word. I still get butterflies from it and I love this feeling. I don't ever want it to go away.

"I'm a bad influence huh?" I joked smirking. "a very bad one" she joked whispering making me laugh. "And you're right love, screw him" I said. She giggled. I smiled and stared at her lips. So did she.

Slowly without even realising it,we both leaned it. "Eww not here" I hear Dustin's annoying voice interrupting us. I glared at him annoyed. "Dustin! You just ruined their moment" Nancy said. I didn't notice Nancy came downstairs by our conversation.

"I don't care, I don't want them kissing in front of me" Dustin said. "is it because we're gay?" I asked raising an eyebrow. He frowned. "no, I don't want to see anyone of you kissing" Dustin said. They're always so dramatic. "Alright chill we were only gonna kiss not make out in front of you" I said. "plus it wouldn't be right" I said. "alright then" Dustin said.
