Chapter 4: Billy

Will's pov

We got to school. I wanted talk to lucas. I was so mad at him. I knew lucas yelled at her because max likes girls and not a guy. As a guy who likes guys I can understand her pain. I had always been scared to tell my friends my sexuality. The boys were waiting for us in the entrance. Max wasn't there yet. She's probably ashamed or scared. "hey" Mike and Dustin said smiling. "hey" we replied. "Did you hear that max likes a guy and betrayed lucas" Mike said. I was surprised lucas told them it was a guy, I was kind of relieved but he still treated max like garbage. "really?" I asked playing dumb. I mean lucas didn't know el talked to max after he left. "yeah, she says she likes another guy so she's been playing with my feelings all this time-" lucas angrily said. Mike scoffed. "what a bitch" Mike said. "don't call her that" el said glaring at Mike. "why not? She's been playing with his feelings this whole time! Would you like me having feelings for another girl while I'm with you? I don't think so" Mike said. Without a second thought I sharply grabbed luca's arm. "what the hell Will-" lucas said. "what-" Mike and Dustin said. I'm always like calm and gentle so I could see their shocked expressions before walking away. "stay here el" I told el. "what? Why-" she said but I didn't even respond, I walked away with lucas,still grabbing his arm. We walked to the side where no one was. "what the hell will?" he said. "Listen, I know what you did to max" I said. "what?" he said. "last night, el found max in the park alone, at 2 am crying and shaking sitting on the bench, does that ring a bell?" I asked angrily. "Well yeah? Because she has feelings for another guy? And didn't even bother to tell me? But no! She decided to play with my feelings, making me believe that she likes me and you're saying it's my fault? And why do you care will?" he said. "Because max is my friend and you shouldn't have yelled at her! I know the real reason you two broke up is because you know max likes girls so don't play with me! I appreciate that you told the others that max likes a guy and not a girl but you could have at least understand her and just say you broke up" I said. Lucas was speechless. He didn't know what to say. "exactly! Even worse, she likes girls and just played with me! She played with my feelings!!" he loudly said. I shushed him. "She didn't play with you! She was confused! She wasn't sure if she liked girls! So you can't blame her for something she can't control, she can't control her feelings" I said leaning closer to him. "what? Did she tell you that?" he asked. "No, max just told el and I that she likes a guy and that you yelled at her! She didn't tell us the truth because she was scared!" I said. "scared of what? Because she's a dyke?" he said. "This! Scared of this! She didn't tell you because she knew how you would react! If you truly love her you would understand how she feels, she just figured something out and it's not her fault" I said. Lucas just stared at me. "she could have just break up with me, not continue being with me when she likes el" he said. I sighed. "what is it that you don't understand lucas! Maybe she didn't know how she felt plus she might have been scared to hurt your feelings" I said.

El's pov

Will grabbed luca's arm and left with him to talk. I assumed he wanted to talk to lucas about max. I was worried about max. I've never seen her like this. She was so upset last night, she was even shaking. Max still wasn't here, I was getting worried. "el? you good?" Mike suddenly asked snapping me out of my thoughts. "yeah" I said under my breath. "are you sure? You look nervous" Mike said. "just worried about max, where is she, why isn't she here yet" I said. I finally looked over at Mike and Dustin because they were suspiciously quiet after what I said. "what?" I asked. Mike rolled his eyes. "are you seriously worried about max? When she's the one who hurt lucas?" he said. "Lucas yelled at her Mike, I found her shaking and a crying mess last night" I said angrily. "oh you went there too" he said. "why did you go there" Mike asked. "max's brother called because max wasn't home on time like she claimed and got worried so did I and I went to look for her, it was after luca's fight with her, she wasn't okay Mike!" I said. He didn't say anything after. I heard a familiar sound. It was Billy's car. My face light up with worry but happiness to see her at the same time. I immediately ran there leaving the two boys alone. I saw max getting out of the car. I ran and hugged her. "hi" I said. "hey" she replied hugging back. I felt butterflies for some reason. "are you okay?" I asked my hand resting on her cheek, she nodded looking at me smiling. She wasn't okay.

Max's pov

"hi el" I heard Billy saying. "hey" el replied. "what's up" he said. "good, how about you?" el said. "good" he said. I don't know what Billy was doing. Suddenly he got out of the car. I was so confused. "what are you doing?" I asked. "hey el, where's Sinclair ?" Billy asked el. Oh no. "Billy you should go-" I tried. "Nope I don't have to go anywhere, I just wanna talk to him, it won't take long" Billy said looking around. "uhh-he's talking with Will-" el tried but I covered her mouth. Well too late. Billy immediately walked past us as soon as he saw the boys. Lucas and will weren't there for some reason. El and I followed Billy since we couldn't stop him. "hey boys, where's sinclair?" Billy said smiling but I could tell he was mad. It was just Mike and Dustin. The two boys looked at each other. "why?" Mike asked. "Billy get out of here" I told Billy. "no, I'm not leaving, I just wanna talk to him, is that bad?" he said. I didn't say anything. "he's talking with Will on the side" Dustin said. "why?" I asked. He shrugged. "I don't know, Will sharply grabbed luca's arm to talk to him, he seemed mad" Dustin said. Why was will mad at lucas? "of course he was mad-alright thanks" Billy said walking away to find them. I covered my face with my hands in annoyance and followed him. I didn't have a choice, Billy wouldn't change his mind. El followed me as well. We found them. They were arguing. "hey, sinclair!" Billy said. They both turned and looked at us. Lucas was confused. He knew Billy well. Billy is kinda scary when he's mad. With a split second billy slapped lucas across the face. Lucas covered his cheek in shock, pain and surprise. "Don't you ever, ever dare to talk to my sister like that again! Do you hear me sinclair?" Billy said. "you're such an asshole! Max had been crying all night last night because of you!!" Billy angrily said. I saw el looking at me. I looked back at her. She had a sad look on her face. She then grabbed my hand for support and squeezed it. "Okay okay, I'm sorry but she shouldn't have played with my feelings-" lucas said but Billy slapped him again. "bullshit! Shut up" Billy said. "Billy stop" I said trying to push billy away and drop this. "if you ever talk to her like that again, I'll do worse, worse than a slap, do you hear me?" Billy said face to face with lucas. Lucas nodded low-key scared. "good" Billy whispered and walked away. No one said anything. "jeez, you're unbelievable Will, I can't believe you're on her side" lucas said looking at will in disbelief and disgust. Will's face was red. They must have been arguing earlier before we came. "there's no sides lucas, it's what's fair and right!" will said. "yeah yeah soo fair" lucas sarcastically said. "leave" will said. "or what?" lucas said. El let go of my hand and went to grab Will's arm. "will, come on what are you doing?" el asked. Will just looked at her. "oh el..how nice to see you" lucas said. El was confused but is smart enough to now it was sarcastic.
