Slumber Within The Hallows ~ Chapter 33

They kept on walking through the empty and cold forest. The heroes haven't slept in near days. The forest felt endless, all of them were tired, exhausted. It was just getting darker and darker now, nighttime was approaching ever so quietly.

"We need to take a moment to rest..." Kazuha yawned. Then several of the heroes collapsed on the ground. Byleth looked at his communicator but he was barely able to comprehend what he was looking at.

Byleth groaned, "Yeah... maybe we do need to rest..." Just as he said that some of the heroes had already passed out from exhaustion. Soon the rest of them fell asleep. The only one not asleep was Kirby. Kirby looked down at himself and at the campfire. The heroes were all long asleep by now, Kirby just was sitting there with his thoughts filling his head.

Kirby sighed, "I can't believe how much we missed from being in limbo! Unbelievable!" He looked around the area and heard something, a small giggle. "H-Huh?! Who's there!?" Kirby looked around the area and slowly took out the sword copy ability. Still frightened, he tried his best to stand tall as none of the heroes were awake at the moment...

"Kirby..."

"Who's there!?" He pointed his sword around the area. The forest was so dark it was impossible to see if it was day or night at the given moment. "SHOW YOURSELF!" Then all of a sudden he was grabbed by some tentacle.

"Kirby! It's so fantastic to finally meet you!" Kirby panicked and looked over. Only to see some... strange demon creature. They had sharp teeth and were covered by goo. Long icky tentacles wrapped around kirby. White gleaming eyes, those terrified Kirby. But he had to stand tall, otherwise his friends would never be able to make it in the end...

Kirby replied, "I have no idea who you are, what you want... but you are not going to hurt my friends..." The creature stared at them and spat on Kirby. Dropping goo on him. "AGH!! WHAT THE HELL!!" Soon the creature tried spitting at the heroes but Kirby managed to block the attack from hitting some of the heroes.

But unfortunately the goo still hit Byleth, Chrom and Zhongli. Which they shot awake in the brink of it all. Kirby kept on trying to attack the creature but they would not let go of him. The group looked over and saw Kirby in a tight situation. Getting up and jumping into action to help Kirby.

Byleth ordered, "Leave him ALONE!" Then Byleth attempted to whip the creature. However, the creature didn't back down and blocked the attack. Byleth looked at the others and they tried attacking it. But their weapons got stuck within the goo.

Kirby shouted, "AGHH!!" The heroes tried taking their weapons out of the creature but that's when Time appeared next to Chrom. Chrom looked at her in confusion as Time seemed to be stressed out.

Chrom questioned, "Time?"

"CHROM! You have to tell Kirby to embrace his ability of super strength! He's incredibly strong and this ability will enhance his strength!" Time ordered. Chrom nodded and ripped the sword out. The goo creature dropped Kirby and Chrom dashed to pick him up.

Chrom explained, "You have really incredible strength, right?"

"Yeah!? Why ask?"

"USE IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE! NOW GO!" Chrom pushed Kirby into the fight and Kirby took a deep breath. He took out his hammer ability and slammed his hammer onto the creature. It was so incredibly strong it caused the creature to explode. Byleth, Zhongli, and Chrom were splattered by the goo but that didn't matter. The creature was dead.

Zhongli asked, "What... in the world?!" Some of them cleaned the goo off as Kirby looked at where the creature once stood in disbelief. He turned to the heroes before looking back down at the creature again. "W-What was that for?! How did you-"

"I don't know what happened! One moment Chrom is telling me to use my strength and all of a sudden I have godlike strength!?" Kirby questioned. Chrom stared at him and took a deep breath. "I didn't know I had this ability!"

Byleth sighed, "This could be very useful for extremely tight situations. I'm very impressed." Chrom and Zhongli nodded in agreement as Kirby jumped for joy.

Zhongli sighed, "Well... we're covered in goo for some absurd reason. Doesn't really matter, I'm just glad that's dealt with already. Just leaving me stressed for no reason..." The others nodded and then they got themselves together.

"Maybe tomorrow you guys can quickly clean your clothes?"

"That would be a good idea but the problem is none of us have spare clothing, we're going to have to deal with it until we find some shelter..." Chrom replied. Kirby slowly nodded and then the rest fell asleep as Kirby watched the night sky.

Kirby muttered, "What... really did happen? What is Chrom hiding away from us that we don't know?" Kirby just sat there in silence as he took a deep breath. Slowly feeling himself getting more and more sleepier by the second. "Whatever is the case... I just... wish to know what it is...

Is it a good thing? Or is it a bad thing? Maybe in the end, I might never know..." Kirby then felt himself dozing off very quickly. He seemed exhausted after everything. The heroes were exhausted from everything as well. All they could hear... was the sounds of the crickets and the calm forest sounds...
