Trails of Dust Tears ~ Chapter 61

The heroes dashed to the destroyed airship. It was still in flames; however within a flash they were gone. Most likely due to the rain that was pouring upon them.

"Where are they?! WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY!?" Chrom shouted in tears. The heroes proceeded to look through the entire wreckage to see if they could recover their dead friends. But the more they looked, the more they saw the corpses on the ground. Burnt bodies, decapitated heads, a nightmare at sight.

Eula asked, "WHERE ARE THEY IN THIS WRECKAGE?! ALL THERE IS... Is... dead... people..."

"They could be one of the burnt bodies, jesus..." Alear whispered as she pulled pieces off from each other. Kirby looked around and then came across something in the distance. He slowly walked toward it and picked up the item. It was a ring.

Kirby whispered, "This is one of the rings Jade and Ruby gave to us when we were fighting that vortex..." Kirby looked down in horror and pulled the pieces off from each other.

"Kirby?!" Chrom asked as he dashed. Soon Kirby's eyes lit up with fear. There he saw... the dead body of Shez. Blood was all over him with half of his face burnt. Chrom looked down in horror and saw as his world was flashing back and forth from black.

Alear shouted, "CHROM!" She grabbed Chrom right before he passed out from the sight. Kirby couldn't move his eyes off the dead body. Nearly tearing up at the sight of it.

"SHEEEZ!!! WHY DIDN'T YOU GET OFF THE SHIP?!! TELL ME!!! WHY???" Kirby cried. Chrom slowly regained consciousness again and looked around the area. Tears were forming in his eyes. Soon the rest of the heroes followed after.

Byleth asked, "YOU... YOU IDIOT WHY!?" He fell onto the rubble and cried into his hands. However, the other heroes were trying to find Albedo among the wreck. Nothing but rubble. Each of the heroes were playing a part. Some were dealing with the corpses, some of them were cleaning wreckage, some of them were dealing with finding Albedo.

"I wonder... why they didn't jump out of the airship. We kept shouting and shouting but there was no luck..." Alear muttered as she stared down at Shez's body. Tears flooded her eyes within a flash as she began to cry again. "WHY?!? WHY DID THEY DO THIS?!" Chrom was facing away from the wreckage and staring down at the ground. He didn't know what to do or say.

"Time... I failed them all, I don't know what went wrong, I... I failed them all..." Chrom whispered as he cried into his hands. "I'm not worthy of this title! I don't know why! WHY!!"

Time whispered, "Chrom it's okay... they did what they did and that's heroic. Don't you worry about it, you're doing perfectly alright."

"NO AMOUNT OF COMFORT WILL BRING THEM BACK!" Chrom cried into his hands. "MAGNUS WILL JUST WIN!! I CAN'T! I-" Time grabbed Chrom's body and tried calming him down. Anger was running through his entire body, it was like an unstoppable force.

Time sighed, "Magnus will never win, he has no chance against us. I know how you feel Chrom you're extremely pissed off about how you feel. Please... don't let this take control of you..."

"AHHHH!!!!" Chrom lifted his head up as Marianne fell backward into Zhongli's hands. The others dashed over and right before their eyes, Albedo's dead body laid on the ground. "I was just cleaning out the wreckage and... Albedo's body was there."

Kirby sighed, "He's in the same conditions as Shez... This time it appears his hand was decapitated. Most likely because of the explosion..." Chrom looked down at Albedo's dead body as the heroes covered it with tarp.

"Magnus... he's going to PAY FOR THIS!!!" Chrom screamed. The heroes looked over as Chrom filled himself up with fury and rage.

Hajime shouted, "Chrom calm yourself! We don't want to lose anymore people!" Chrom looked at Hajime and the other heroes and took a deep breath.

"I'm going to head back to Vivin City, perhaps it's going to be better for my mental health," Chrom sighed.

Mario said, "No, all of us are going to Vivin City together so we can tell about the news." The heroes covered both of their dead allies as Chrom dashed back into the bus. He sat down at the backseat and cried into his hands. Alear and Byleth walked in and sat with Chrom.

Alear sighed, "I know how angry you are about everything. You can't let that anger take control of you... I know you're pissed as hell but don't you dare lose yourself. I don't want to lose anymore people who are close to me." Chrom looked at her and nodded. Then the rest of the heroes walked in as they put the dead bodies upstairs in the bedrooms.

Byleth sighed, "Shez... Albedo... they sacrificed themselves so the citizens wouldn't be afraid..."
