The Lies and The Fate of Eternity ~ Chapter 54

Chrom slowly followed Ruby and Jade from behind and watched them walk into an abandoned building. He hid from their view and watched them from afar.

"I don't understand this anymore, why do we have to keep lying to them."

"Erica will be pissed at us! You know better than this!" Ruby put Lotan on the bed and turned on the light. He sat down on the couch and Jade sat with him. "Never believed I'd see the day Lotan starts getting more and more ill each day. I wish we could heal him."

Jade sighed, "Maybe one of the heroes can help?"

"They can't help! They're going to question us!"

"You believing this, is going to make that wish come true!" Jade replied. The two looked at each other and then groaned. Turning their backs against one another. Chrom watched as Lotan was drifting to sleep.

Ruby sighed, "Erica says-"

"I know what Erica says, she is also fully aware of what Magnus is doing and isn't going to try. She wants the heroes to lose that badly, or at least let Chrom die so Time can get out of his hands." Chrom watched in horror as Jade explained that to Ruby. He fell against the wall and looked at his hands.

Chrom whispered, "Erica... She really did hate me. She hated me ever since the day I was born. Traumatizing every single damn moment of my life. She wants me to be as miserable as possible. I won't let some... BASTARD GODDESS take me WHOLE." He took a deep breath and looked back. "I have to go in and confront them." Chrom got up from where he was and went in the front door.

From inside him he knew this was a bad idea, that he wasn't supposed to be intruding on their grounds. But after what he heard, he couldn't help but not stay quiet. There was no reason as to why he needed to. Erica despised him with every fiber of her body. Then... he proceeded to knock. From inside the door was opening.

Ruby replied with a smile, "Mr. Lowell, it's such an honor to see you here-"

"Don't welcome me, I heard what you guys were talking about. You guys are all... LIARS! You knew EXACTLY what was going to happen but you refused to tell everyone else otherwise," Chrom replied with anger in his tone. Jade walked over and pushed Ruby aside.

Jade explained, "We didn't lie to you? What are you talking about that makes you believe this wa-" Chrom ignored her and shoved her out of the way as he walked into the building. He looked around the entire building and noticed there were strange prints on the walls. "Okay now you're being too much, Chrom-"

Chrom mumbled under his breath, "Why did I trust a bunch of Erica protectors thinking they will not lie to us..." From the distance he heard footsteps. The gods watched in anger as they stared at Chrom, but they too also heard the footsteps. Chrom quickly turned around and noticed there was a tall figure in the distance. They were wearing a cloak.

"What the hell are you doing here! GET OUT OF OUR SIGHTS!" Ruby ordered. The person stood there staring at them and saw Chrom from behind. Then they took off their hood. Revealing themselves to be none other than Raiden Shogun. "R-Raiden!?"

Raiden replied, "I know of what you have been doing and have been requested to do something in Erica's name."

"ERICA'S NAME?!" Chrom shouted from behind. Raiden looked over at him and glared. Then she turned back to Ruby and Jade.

"Don't make me repeat myself Alaric and Emera, you have been letting the heroes hear your words from behind. They were eavesdropping yet you had no idea, how shameful it had to come to this," Raiden replied with anger. Jade and Ruby started moving backward. Chrom moved out of the way and went against the door towards the back.

Raiden walked closer and closer to them, slowly pulling out a katana. Chrom watched from behind and witnessed her get ready to do something grim. Raiden took a deep breath and dashed against them. She sliced them with her sword and just like that. Electrocuted them to death. Witnessing them die by her merciless hand. Chrom watched as the two gods... perished from the world. They both collapsed on the ground and transformed back to normal.

Chrom asked, "W... What did you... do?" Raiden put her sword away and stared at Chrom. "TELL ME NOW! WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM!?" Raiden looked at him and walked closer and closer.

"I killed them, and just as Erica asked. I will take your life as well," Raiden replied. Then she sent both of them into some... interdimensional world. Raiden stood there and took out her sword. Chrom tried to comprehend where he was but he couldn't bother. He also took out his sword.
