Stronger Suspicions ~ Chapter 142

"Zehira, my suspicions on the Exalt grow stronger each day. He's hiding something that we don't know about," Magnus muttered. He looked at his document that had all the information of Chrom and then slammed his hand on the paper. "WHAT IS THAT MAN HIDING AWAY?!"

Zehira groaned, "I would love to tell you but not even I know what he is hiding away..." Magnus glared at him as he then moved away for a moment. He didn't know how to feel; still he wanted to learn more. The Exalt was hiding something sinister he knew...

"That monster has done too much damage to my reputation and he is trying to ruin our family name... why is he so desperate to kill me? Why is he so willing to take my life away but never does..." Magnus questioned. Zehira slithered over and looked at the paper.

Zehira asked, "What's with the strange question mark that is on Chrom's relations? Don't you know all the people he's related to?" Magnus looked down at the paper again as he took a long deep breath.

"I know most of them; however, there's a relationship he has with someone that I do not know of..." Magnus replied as he looked at the fireplace. "I burned all the papers I had of him too... damn it."

Zehira laughed, "Don't worry about a thing child, you don't need those papers because they repeated the same information on them anyways. The problem is... I also have this strange feeling that the Exalt has relationships with someone very important to the world..." Magnus' eyes widened in shock as he looked over toward Zehira.

"Does he have a relationship with Michael!? Erica?!"

"No... I don't believe he does, otherwise we would've seen the signs. Haven't you noticed one moment he was ready to die but the next moment he hurt you before he got hurt?" Zehira replied. Magnus' eyes widened in shock and stared at Zehira.

Magnus muttered, "I never paid too much attention to his attacks because I could heal myself in the end but..." Magnus looked at the document and then picked it up. He looked at the blood that roamed inside of Chrom but there wasn't anything new.

Zehira explained, "You won't find the information in his blood types. We know well he has the blood of the Exalt and the blood of the Demon. However, that doesn't explain his quick instincts."

"Perhaps it was one of the gifts the heroes received when they were fighting me. They must've gotten it from the World Tree,"

Zehira shook his head and explained, "If all of them got their power from the World Tree how in the world did Shez and Albedo get the absurd abilities when they died before the encounter at the World Tree?"

Magnus muttered, "You make a strong point. Have you been watching the heroes?" Zehira looked at Magnus and snickered. Magnus looked at him in confusion as he was reviewing Chrom's documents. "Well? Have you been watching them!?"

"Watching the heroes?! Ahaha! I live in one of the heroes..." Zehira laughed. Magnus stood there staring at Zehira and fell backward in disbelief. "Sometimes I decide to haunt their dreams because of how much of a traitor they are to me. They hurt my feelings..."

Magnus muttered, "Father Zehira..." Zehira looked at Magnus and smiled. Magnus just stood there in silence, he just had a blank expression on his face before Zehira walked over and patted him on the shoulder. Magnus looked at him with confusion as Zehira chuckled.

"Don't worry about it kiddo, I want to make a deal with you..."

"A deal?!" He stood there in shock as Zehira's trial started to rattle for a bit. He hissed at Magnus before wrapping his tail around Magnus. "What are you talking about? A deal?!"

"Yes... there's something different about you, something I relate with... not because you and I are no different... but you remind me of someone," Zehira replied. Magnus stood there staring at Zehira and then smiled.

Magnus asked, "Remind you of someone? Well... can't say I'm too shocked. I remind others of many things." Zehira laughed as he continued to wrap his tail around Magnus. Magnus thought about the endless possibilities of what Zehira wanted to do. Zehira was reminded of how similar he looked but had no idea what he meant. Then Zehira let go of Magnus and put his hands together.

"Would you like... if I granted you some of my strength? That way we can finally kill the Exalt together with those... special playing cards of yours," Zehira laughed. Magnus looked at his desk and saw a deck of cards on there. He thought about the deck of cards and how they were used to kill the Prince of Altea back then.

Magnus gasped, "Those are the deck of cards Upton used all those years ago to kill Marth. He loved these cards because the ace of spades would instantly kill the hero! YES! THIS IS PERFECT!" Magnus felt himself getting really excited about everything that was going to happen.

"The playing cards are a very neat addition but what about being granted my strength?"

Magnus asked, "Being granted... your strength?"

"Yes... you will become an unstoppable force of nature. You will finally kill the Exalt by your hands. You will be unstoppable..."

"I..."

"What do you say kiddo? What do you say..." Magnus stared at Zehira's snake eyes and didn't know what to say.
