Storm of The Era ~ Chapter 60

The heroes landed on the top of the airship and noticed the airship was getting higher and higher into the sky. They were going to lose oxygen quickly if they didn't stop it in time.

"Alear, Byleth, you guys stay out here and see if you can slow down the airship. The rest of us are going in," Mario ordered. The two nodded as the heroes broke into the airship.

Shez shouted, "AZURA!" He untied her and ripped the duct tape on her face. Soon the heroes realized they were surrounded by bombs.

"I'll go ahead and shut down the bombs that are on the chairs-"

"DEAL WITH THE ONES IN THE BACK! THEY'RE GOING TO EXPLODE THE WHOLE SHIP IF WE DON'T!" Albedo nodded and dashed into the back of the ship. He looked around and spotted 4 huge bombs at the back of the ships. He proceeded to work on defusing the bombs.

Link sighed, "Shit, what are we able to do!?"

"LET'S HELP THE CITIZENS ALREADY!" Mario ordered. The heroes then started untying the citizens that were stuck in the chairs. From the corner of Marianne's eye she saw the dead co-pilot on the ground.

Marianne muttered, "Magnus killed the pilot and the co-pilot..." Chrom stopped what he was doing and dashed into the pilot's room. A gust of wind blasted through the entire room as Chrom noticed the dead pilot on the controls. Chrom shut the door behind him and tried to stay stabilized.

Walking closer to the control panel he slowly moved the captain onto the ground. The ship had stopped rising as the captain was on the controls. Chrom did everything in his power to now be launched off the ship. As they were as high as 12,000 meters.

Chrom grunted, "I can't... stay here forever... at least I stopped ship from rising..." Then he dashed right out the room and helped again. Meanwhile, Byleth and Alear were doing everything they could to stop the ship. Byleth found an area filled with gears and ripped the cover off.

Alear asked, "What do we do!?" Byleth looked around and noticed the ship suddenly shifting higher into the air. "GAH!!" Just like that Alear stabbed her sword into where the gears were. The ship was slowing down a lot more since the gears were unable to move.

Byleth asked, "What else can we do to lower the ship?" He tried to understand the area more but nothing was working. Alear continued doing her best to keep the sword in the gears. "Keep it up Alear! I promise you're doing fantastic!" Alear nodded and continued.

Byleth dashed across the deck and looked over the edge, all they could see was dark storm clouds. He looked around to see if the blood red sky was anywhere but there was no sign of the sky. Suddenly just like that it started to pour rain. Alear had slipped and her sword flung out of her hands.

"THE WIND AND THE RAIN ARE FAR TOO HEAVY! I CAN'T DO ANYTHING!" Alear shouted as she dashed to pick up her sword. Byleth looked around more and then got an idea.

Byleth shouted, "COME WITH ME QUICKLY!" Alear nodded as the two dashed toward the edge of the ship. Byleth looked at his surroundings and took a deep breath. "JUMP OFF!"

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!"

"JUST JUMP OFF!!" Alear did as Byleth asked and jumped off the ship. Byleth followed after and grabbed Alear's hand as his other hand grabbed the edge of the ship.

Alear questioned, "WHAT ON GOD'S NAME ARE YOU DOING?!" Byleth looked at Alear and back at the ship. They were practically hanging off by a thread.

Byleth ordered, "PULL ME DOWN WITH BOTH OF YOUR ARMS NOW! I WANT TO SEE IF WE CAN WEIGH THE SHIP DOWN!" Alear nodded and moved to grab Byleth's feet. Byleth grabbed onto the sword with both hands and the two proceeded to drag the ship down closer toward the ground.

"What the FUCK ARE THEY DOING!?" Shez asked as he felt the entire ship fall slightly slanted. Eventually the heroes freed all the citizens but there was only 3 minutes left on the bombs.

Mario ordered, "WE NEED TO GET EVERYONE OFF THIS SHIP NOW! HAND OVER THE PARACHUTES!" The heroes opened the door and started handing as many parachutes to the citizens as they could. However, within seconds they were out of them.

Zhongli asked, "WHAT ELSE ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO!?" Chrom looked outside the door and noticed Alear and Byleth were pulling the ship down toward the ground.

"HOW HIGH ARE WE BYLETH!?"

"WE'RE WERE AT 12,000 METERS IN THE SKY BUT WE HAVE MOVED DOWN 2,000 METERS!" Chrom looked at everyone and then back at the group.

Chrom muttered, "We need to help Albedo NOW." The heroes nodded as some of them dashed to help Albedo. Unfortunately he was only done with one bomb.

"THERE'S FAR TOO MANY WIRES I CAN'T DEFUSE ALL OF THEM OFF!"

"AND THERE'S BOMBS ON THE CHAIRS WE WILL NEVER MAKE IT OUT ALIVE!" Hajime shouted. The rest of the heroes tried helping Albedo defuse the bombs.

Chrom ordered, "WE HAVE TO HELP BYLETH AND ALEAR LOWER THE SHIP DOWN TO A SAFER LEVEL!" Just like thunder roared into the air. Lightning struck somewhere nearby which caused the front of the airship to break off.

Marianne shouted, "OH MY GOD!!" Byleth moved himself over toward the door and helped people get on the chain safely. Then he moved back over to the edge and the 9 heroes with him were pulling the edge alongside him. The other 10 were trying to defuse the bombs.

Hajime gasped, "FORGET THE BOMBS WE NEED TO GET AS MANY CITIZENS OUT AS POSSIBLE!" The heroes nodded and dashed out the room. The ship was getting lower and lower. Suddenly lightning struck the ship again. The bombs were mere seconds away from detonating.

Agent 4 whispered, "We can't get them off, we have to let them die!" The heroes looked at one another and then back at the door.

"THE BOMBS ARE 40 SECONDS AWAY FROM DETONATING WE NEED TO GET OFF!" Byleth nodded as he moved his sword to the door. The heroes quickly moved onto the chain. Azura quickly followed after.

"LET GO OF THE SHIP ALREADY!!!" Alear shouted. Byleth moved his sword and grabbed tightly onto a tree. Quickly moving away the heroes from the airship. Seconds... mere seconds were just away before the ship exploded. All the citizens that wouldn't get a chance to live...

Right as the heroes landed onto the ground... the bombs detonated and exploded the entire airship. . The heroes watched in horror as there was nothing more but a ball of smoke in the air. Flames from it. Pieces were falling onto the ground.

Alear asked, "Is everyone here!?" Mario proceeded to count everyone but soon... horror came across his face. "MARIO?!"

"We're missing two members," Mario gasped. The heroes looked at each other and soon their faces were falling pale as snow.

Byleth gasped, "No... Albedo and Shez... NO! NO NO!!" The heroes watched as the ship plummeted to the ground. All of them rushed to the scene. Far... Far too afraid to see what would be of it.

The dead citizens... the airship's disaster. Everything that was in there. But more importantly...

Their dead friends... they were in that wreckage. Nobody would've survived such a thing.
