Foot Traveling To Find A New Home ~ Chapter 81

The group walked for ages on end. All of them were exhausted but Chrom was determined to find somewhere to stay. Carrying all the children in a wagon that Chase built within seconds. He seemed worried and tense as he led the group ahead. Chase walked beside him while pulling the wagon as Chrom kept looking around.

"You've seen so much haven't you Chrom?" Chrom looked toward Chase and slowly nodded. You could see the eye bags under his eyes. He was exhausted to the core. "Chrom, I suggest that all of us take some time to rest."

Chrom replied, "We can't... not at this rate... we need to find some shelter first..." He felt himself slowing down and wanting to pass out. But he couldn't afford to rest, not with the situation getting worse and worse for everyone.

"Well, there's a small cabin up ahead, do you think we can go there?" Chrom looked up and noticed the cabin Alear was pointing towards. He nodded and walked to it with the rest of the group. They went inside it and noticed the sad look to it.

Sumia sighed, "We honestly just need a place for our children, let's just let it happen..." Chrom nodded as they closed the door behind them and nodded. There were just barely enough beds for them all. Chrom fell onto the bed and was already dazing off. The others noticed him immediately falling asleep, he was just so exhausted he couldn't wait to go to sleep anymore longer.

"Chrom does so much for us, it's understandable why he is in this state... I just pray this doesn't get worse for him. I'd hate to lose him..." Alear replied. The others nodded as they all got ready for bed. However, Lucina and Morgan moved onto the bed Chrom was sleeping in.

His hair was messed up, he was exhausted from everything that was happening. Lucina and Morgan looked at each other and then back down at Chrom. They decided to cuddle into his arms and helped him rest easier. They got by his side and Lucina and Morgan looked at each other.

Lucina whispered, "Daddy is so tired from everything... I hope this is over."

"Yeah... daddy barely has any time for us..."

"He's hard working okay! He's doing his best to protect us!" The two noticed Chrom was moving slightly as he moved the children closer in. Smiling in the process as the children smiled back at him, hugging him tightly.

Chrom whispered, "Thank you for being here at my side... no words can describe how much I love you..." The children smiled up at Chrom as they all cuddled in together. Chrom slowly closed his eyes as he drifted off to sleep. The children followed slowly after.

"Chrom..." Chrom opened his eyes up to some strange dimensional world. No idea what was going on. He noticed there was a figure in the distance. "Chrom..."

Chrom questioned, "Who's there?!" Then he noticed the figure wasn't normal. They walked closer... only to be revealed to be some snake-like creature. "W-What the hell?!"

The snake creature replied, "Don't you remember me Chrom? Tis I... the snake demigod known as Zehira... Your knowledge on the gods is quite impressive which is why you have no reason to not remember me..." The snake hissed at Chrom as he sat there in shock. He tried moving back but his body didn't seem to want to do so.

"I don't... know who you are?! What the hell do you want from me?!" He started backing away as he felt himself beginning to panic more and more. The creature felt familiar but he couldn't figure out why it was so familiar to him.

"Aww... you're afraid aren't you? Well let me tell you one thing, I'm very disappointed you don't remember me, but that doesn't matter..." Chrom stared at Zehira as they grabbed out Claude. Chrom stared in horror as it was his dead corpse they grabbed.

Chrom ordered, "STAY BACK!!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM MY HUSBAND!!!" He couldn't take his eyes off Claude but at the same time, he wanted to know answers. Who was this demigod speaking to him? What exactly was going on?

"Aww... you want to protect your husband? I won't be giving him back because handing him back is for losers..." The snake mocked. Chrom looked at them in horror, unable to think through how to feel about the situation.

Chrom asked, "Am... Am I in a dream?" Zehira walked over to Chrom and dropped Claude's dead corpse on the ground.

"One way to find out... go ahead and touch that body," Zehira snickered as he looked down at Chrom. Chrom sat there staring at the body as he felt his body shaking. Still, he slowly got down to touch Claude's body as suddenly there was a strange aura rushing through his veins.

Chrom asked, "W-W... WHAT IS GOING ON!!!?!" He felt his entire body failing as the energy from him was being consumed by Zehira. Everything he had was being taken away. "NOO!!! I... I..."

"NOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Chrom screamed. Everyone woke up in shock in fear as Chrom was shaking terribly.

Lucina asked, "Daddy?! What's going on!?"

"I don't know... I don't know what happened but... who is Zehira?! What do they want from me?!" Chrom asked as he stared down at himself. The others looked at one another and back at Chrom in concern.

Lucina whispered, "Daddy... it's going to be okay..."

"How do I know?! How do I know... it is?.."
