"Chrom..."
"Chrom..."
"Honey?" Chrom shot awake as he opened his eyes up to Claude. He was staring down at him. Chrom shook his head and looked at Claude. "You have been asleep for a while."
"W-What?!"
"It's... been a while since you took a nap," Claude replied while showing the window. Chrom looked around his room in confusion. It was the same room in castle Ylisse but something about it felt different... "Don't worry, I'll get you something to drink."
Chrom asked, "Was... Dawn being destroyed... a dream?" He looked around as he got off his bed. Something about the entire situation felt entirely strange. Eerie even, there was no return from where he was. "There's no way I was dreaming... Claude's dead..."
Claude walked in and cheered, "I'm back! I made you your favorite coffee that gets you moving!" Chrom looked down at the coffee and it was a latte. Chrom then froze, Claude didn't know anything about his favorite latte.
"How... How did you know?"
"Aww, I pay attention to everything you do, every... little thing," Chrom giggled nervously and looked down at the coffee. He suddenly felt himself getting sick, more and more sick.
Chrom asked, "What... did you do?"
"I put a little potion spell on you? Why?" Chrom looked at him as his eyes widened from disbelief. His whole world was becoming more and more dizzy. "Hang on honey! I have you-"
Chrom shouted, "GET OFF ME CLAUDE!! AGAHH!!!" Then he noticed Claude's face was slowly deforming more and more. He felt himself spiraling more and more into insanity as he fell onto the ground. He looked at himself and he was covered in blood. From there sat a woman on a bench.
The woman sighed, "You've made a terrible mistake, you have done so many of them." Chrom looked up in confusion as he looked at the woman. She had a pink umbrella and a pink raincoat. "You've done so much it's made me so sad..." Chrom couldn't tell who it was until he saw the woman's hair. It was Emma.
Chrom asked, "Emma? What... Do you mean?"
"You've made your own friends so sad, I can't believe you would do such a thing!"
"What are you talking about-"
"Don't speak a WORD ABOUT THAT TO ME! I thought you were the man I fell in love with but not anymore..." Chrom looked at her in disbelief and stared down at the puddle of blood. He looked at himself and saw himself as some strange deformed figure. "Monster..."
"Emelia-" Then from the corner of his eye he spotted Magnus standing there. Swirls filled his eyes still as he giggled hysterically.
Magnus laughed, "You really thought you could've found a way to win through all of this? Not after killing ten of your allies? Let's be honest Lowell, you're nothing more but pathetic."
"HAHAHAHA! HAHHAHA!" Voice laughed. They kept laughing at Chrom over and over again. Chrom trying to silence out the voices. None of them stopped, they kept pointing and laughing at him, the sounds of children laughing. "CHROM IS A LOSER! CHROM IS A LOSER!!"
Chrom grunted, "NO!! NO!!" He tried to stabilize himself but he couldn't, he was losing more and more control of who he was. Then he noticed Magnus walked up to him. "What... Do you want."
"We can work together, and maybe then you can prove yourself worthy..." Chrom looked directly at Magnus' eyes and began to lose himself even more. Slowly swirls were filling up his own eyes as well. "Look at you, you're falling directly into my precious lies, that's it. Just keep on moving closer and closer..." Chrom looked at Magnus and slapped his hand.
Chrom shouted, "NO!! NO, NO NO!!!!" Then he finally broke himself from the dream. He woke up in a cold sweat on the dirt ground. Each and every night each of his nightmares were getting worse and worse. There was no end to it. He noticed that he was gripping onto the ground and ripped some dirt off.
Chrom took a few deep breaths to calm himself, trying to make sure that everything was going to be okay. Since the nightmare was over, he was able to easily wake himself up and fall asleep back to normal. However, he knew he wasn't okay at all. Magnus could be still alive somewhere. Yet...
He would have no clue, Magnus is unpredictable. There's no telling if he was alive or not. The heroes were certain he was dead but Chrom was paranoid. Magnus had lived so many attacks and stabs to death, there was something off putting about him. Something absurd...
Chrom grunted, "No... I must stay focused..." He closed his eyes and then slowly drifted off to sleep again.
