Demon's Outcries On Those In Need ~ Chapter 71

"Oh great, where did Chrom go now!?" Eula asked as they got to the top of the hill but within their eyes they saw Claude's corpse on the ground. They all froze as Alear felt herself shaking from the sight.

Alear gasped, "I-Is that?! Cla-CLAUDE?!"

"What happened when we were trying to get here?!" Kirby asked in worry. The heroes dashed over to the scene and tried to understand what was going on. But nothing was coming to them.

Zhongli muttered, "Chrom is going to be infuriated when he sees this."

"Infuriated isn't a strong enough word to describe how he will feel! He's going to be... outraged, LIVID, VEXED, FUMING! Agh there's not a good enough word that can describe what he's going to feel!" Alear replied in frustration. The heroes looked down at Claude's corpse as in the distance they spotted a strange octopus figure. "GAHHH!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!"

Byleth asked, "Is that?.." Then the figure was revealed to be none other than Demon. "There's Chrom- wait a second..."

Link sighed, "Thank goodness you're unharmed Chrom... what's with the demon form?" Demon walked closer to them as he felt his anger building up more and more. The heroes all stood there in worry as Demon raised his tentacles into the air. The heroes started moving back as he stood there glaring at them.

"You guys don't understand anything... nothing at all..."

"Demon?! As in... Apollyon's descendant?!" Alear questioned. The heroes nodded and then looked back at Chrom. Demon looked at the heroes with disgust as he kept being reminded of what had happened. Claude was dead, and it was all Magnus. But he was so livid he couldn't contain that anger building deep within him.

Demon groaned, "Claude was killed by Magnus' greedy little hands... so I decided to kill a few innocent souls to make up for it."

"CHROM- I MEAN, DEMON WHAT THE HELL?!" Byleth shouted. Demon stared at him and glared. "You have no good reason to treat the citizens in that manner! You know so much more than this!"

Demon shouted, "SHUT IT BYLETH! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT FEELS TO LOSE YOUR LOVED ONES TWICE! I'M DONE BEING QUIET! I'M DONE HIDING AWAY! THEY'RE GOING TO PAY FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO HIM!!!"

"Don't you think targeting innocent people is too much!?" Niko asked in concern. Demon glared down at them and smirked. Raising his tentacles higher as he started walking closer and closer to them. The heroes started backing away as Demon got ready to stab his tentacles through them.

He stabbed one through the ground as the heroes were able to successfully dodge the attack. He slowly backed off from the heroes as he walked backward for a moment. "There is never enough, you can never take enough blood away..." Demon then slowly took out falchion. "Perhaps if you guys let me do this, we wouldn't have to be in this situation."

Alear asked, "DEMON WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!? WE'RE YOUR ALLIES?!" Demon looked down at himself as he shot out another tentacle at Alear. She dodged the attack as she stood there staring at Demon.

"Allies or not, that doesn't matter, YOU'RE IN MY WAY!!" Demon tried attacking the heroes but they got out of the way. He continued swinging his tentacles toward the heroes while they continued to dodge the attacks with ease. Demon was becoming more and more infuriated with the heroes as they took a moment to reflect on what to do.

Byleth muttered, "We have to fight him, just make sure we don't go too far and kill him in the process."

"How do we harm him!?"

"I suggest that we attack him from the sides with our fits and legs only,"

"WHAT?!" The heroes looked at one another as they saw the outraged look on Demon's face. "OKAY FINE!" The heroes put away their weapons and proceeded to prepare themselves by fighting with their fists and legs. Demon launched his claws at the heroes and they dodged.

They dashed at him and kicked him across the face. Then they punched him from behind. He fell onto the ground and tasted the dirt. He wiped himself off as he threw another tentacle at them. The heroes were able to dodge them with ease as Byleth dashed in for a bunch. Demon fell backward and glared the heroes down.

"YOU..." The heroes got themselves prepared again as they blocked the attacks of Demon. They then counterattacked each of his attacks. Demon fell backward and felt the pain in his stomach. There were bruises appearing on his face.

Byleth sighed, "We just need to make him get back into his senses..." Then the heroes dashed in for more kicks and punches. However this time around Demon dodged them all. Soon slapping the heroes away from him as he took a moment to breathe.

Demon asked, "Do you all wish to kill me?! BE MY GUESS!" Then Alear kicked Demon directly in the face. He slammed into the ground and felt himself losing control of Chrom's body. He stood up one more time but Aleareddashed in and punched him right in the face again. Causing him to switch back to normal and fall onto the ground.

"Did... Did I hit him too hard?!" Alear asked. The heroes looked down at him and looked at one another. Byleth checked his pulse and sighed.

"He's fine, just weakened down from the rampage he had," Byleth replied.
