Opening Omen To Cries ~ Chapter 101

There were people playing left and right. Singing and dancing. A beautiful sight to behold as the heroes walked over to the group. They were all happy with one another.

"THE HEROES DID IT!!!" The citizens cheered as they laughed and played. The heroes looked at one another in confusion but the citizens were all so happy with one another.

Chrom asked, "What are they so excited for?" He walked over to get a better look but one by one the citizens disappeared. All there was leftover was the party decorations and a mess.

"Huh, what is this?" Alear questioned as she looked around in worry. The heroes gathered around each other as they noticed a figure with white hair standing in the distance.

Magnus laughed, "You're all too late..." Alear woke up in a cold sweat breathing heavily. Her entire body felt weak as she looked down. There were rats biting her as she shoved them away. She looked around and then noticed there were shadows everywhere.

Alear asked, "Guys?" There was no response. She took out her communicator and turned on the flashlight. The heroes were all on the ground and passed out. However, as she searched the area she came across the horror that was Zhongli and Marianne. "AHHH!!" She looked at their dead bodies in horror as the rats continued eating them.

She couldn't take her eyes off the sight but she had to press forward. She tried shaking the heroes awake but there was no response from any of them. Then she kicked the rats away as all of them left to their hole. However, many stayed near the corpses to continue eating them.

"Come on..." Alear grunted as she tried getting Chrom awake. Then she finally saw some movement. Chrom was slowly opening his eyes and got up. Alear smiled and gave Chrom a great big hug. Chrom hugged her back as he noticed the entire area was pitch black.

Chrom asked, "What happened?"

"I'm not sure what happened, but Marianne and Zhongli are confirmed to be dead. The rats are eating them... either way we need to see if everyone else is alive..." Alear explained. Chrom looked over to Marianne and Zhongli and nearly gagged at the sight of them. He nodded as they continued waking them up. The rest of the heroes were able to wake up.

Kirby asked, "How long have we been passed out?"

"Long enough for the rats to attempt to eat us alive, which they already successfully did with two of our allies," Byleth explained as he kicked the rats away. Alear checked the calendar on her communicator as her expression quickly changed to horror.

Alear whispered, "It's 2072... early in the year. It's barely even Vila..." The heroes nodded in agreement as they looked around the entire room. Empty, filled with darkness, no telling of what was happening outside. The heroes got up and dusted themselves off.

"Let's find the exit," Chrom suggested. The heroes nodded as they turned on their flashlights. They looked around the area and then that's when Chrom saw a gate that led to the stairs. Chrom walked over to it and kicked the gate. Kicking it a few times caused it to fall down and break.

Alear sighed, "Marianne and Zhongli... eaten alive. What horror." Chrom nodded as he went up the stairs. The rest of the heroes followed. Then they went to the ledge, witnessing the snow fall yet... it was all dark and eerie.

"Where... are we?" Chrom asked. Byleth checked his communicator as he noticed the location of where they were. They were in Dawn City. All there was left of it was a burnt wasteland.

Byleth explained, "Our communicators state... this is Dawn City..." The group watched in horror as the entire city was nothing. Nothing... just flames and more flames. "What the hell did Magnus even do..."

Sonic grunted, "Damn it! A place we called home four years ago... is nothing anymore..." The group got down from the tower and then landed in the middle of the streets. Looking around the entire empty city. Flames were everywhere. It looked like hell...

Kirby cried, "Everything is so... ungodly! What has Magnus done to our homes!?" Mario tried comforting Kirby as Chrom walked ahead of the road. He felt like he was just one person amongst everything that flooded them.

The scenery, everything about the entire city was horrifying. There was no telling what was coming next, four long years. They were going to end at some point. There was no way someone was going to last anymore longer in this hellspring.

"Can't you believe this is our future?" Chrom whispered as he stared down at the ground. Then Time appeared alongside him watching the hellfire that was around them.

Time whispered, "Oh... my goodness..." She was so horrified by the flames that were filling the entire city. Chrom didn't know how to feel about everything. He felt like a whole outsider to a place that was home. Dawn was a home to all the heroes, now it doesn't even look like Dawn anymore.

"This was a place we called home, right here on this very place four years ago... this was a huge city, the people were happy, everything was okay... but today... now it's a shadow of its former self..." Chrom explained as he spun around. There was no telling if this was once the same Dawn. The long road that struck ahead. No telling of what was next.

Elfilin cried, "NO!! I REFUSE TO CALL THIS MY HOME!!" Kirby comforted him as the two began crying with one another. Chrom took a deep breath and stabbed his sword in the ground. He felt a rush of energy flowing through his body. Then he looked up, and there was a vision of the past Dawn city in front of him.

"Dawn... this place... was ruined under HIS DAMN HAND!!!!! I WILL NEVER LET HIM TAKE ANOTHER SOUL AGAIN!!! NEVER EVER EVER!! I'M GOING TO KILL MAGNUS THE NEXT TIME I EVEN COME FACE TO FACE TO HIM!!!"
