"Wait let me get that for you," i said to my wife as I reached for our daughter, who was sleeping peacefully in her car seat.
"Thank you," she smiled tiredly at me.
I held the car seat in my hand as we moved towards my brother's house, "if you get too tired promise me you'll tell me, and we'll leave right away."
Y/n smiled softly at me, "it's okay Drew, you worry too much," she chuckled, "I'm fine, it's normal to be tired, i gave birth four days ago, you don't need to worry," she reassured me, "plus I'm happy to see Ben, Laura and the kids, as well as Richard, I miss them."
I smiled down at her and kissed the top of her head gently, before reaching my arm out and ringing the doorbell to my brother's house.
After a few seconds Laura, my sister in law, came out and smiled at us, "hi," she whispered, "how are you feeling, honey?" She questioned softly to my wife, bringing her arms around her figure.
Y/n smiled softly at her, "tired," she chuckled, "but also as happy as possible."
Laura gently pulled back and reached on her tippy toes to kiss my cheek, "hey Andy," she grinned, "mind if I take a look?" She asked us.
"Not at all," I shook my head, bringing the baby car seat with our sleeping Lynn inside closer to her aunt.
"Oh my goodness," she whispered, "she's perfect."
We smiled at her, "thank you."
Laura straightened up and opened the door wider for us to get in, "come on in, the twins are upstairs playing, but Ben and Richard are in the living room."
We stepped in the house as my dad turned his head around to look at us, "hey dad," I smiled at him, "wanna meet your first granddaughter?"
My dad smiled at us and moved up from the couch, just as my brother reached for my wife to hug her, "congratulations guys," he spoke softly, "how are you feeling mama?" He asked my wife.
Y/n laughed, "I'm okay, thank you for having us over, we would've had you at our place but someone ," she looked at me pointedly, "forgot to put away everything he used to build the crib and the things for the baby's room."
Ben laughed and smiled at her, "no worries, we're glad to have you here."
"Here," Laura gently grabbed my wife's arm, "sit down darling, we can talk while the guys fuss over your baby," she chuckled, making Y/n laugh as well.
I sat down next to my dad on the couch and took Lynn out of her seat, "go meet grandpa love," I whispered to my sleeping baby, whose eyes were slowly fluttering open.
I passed my daughter to my dad, who held so softly, as though afraid he'd break her, "she looks like you," he whispered, "she's like a carbon copy of you as a baby."
I smiled at him and patted him on the shoulder, "thanks dad," I turned around and gestured for my brother to come over to us, "come on Ben, time to meet your niece."
Ben grinned and sat down next to me, extending his arm to grab my daughter from our dad, "she's precious," he smiled, "god she has your mop of hair."
I laughed loudly and gently brushed my daughter's hair back, "that she does."
Ben smiled down at his niece, "you wanna go back to daddy?" He questioned softly before passing her back over to me, chuckling at my confused look, "when the twins were born I was never a fan of other people holding them, I felt jealous, I know you, and I know you feel the same but are way too nice to say anything."
I laughed and kissed my daughter's head gently, "I'm just so amazed that she's actually here," I admitted, "I've wanted one of these for so long it almost feels surreal now."
Lynn's eyes slowly fluttered open completely, her cheeks puffing out as she began to fuss softly, "hey there," I whispered, "it's okay baby," I soothed her gently, "y/n, love, I think she might be hungry."
Y/n nodded and cleared her throat, "do you mind if I take her to to the kitchen?"
Laura furrowed her brows, "are you uncomfortable here?" She questioned softly.
Now it was Y/n who furrowed her brows, "no, I just thought you guys would be uncomfortable if I fed her here."
Laura shook her head, "not at all, it's not any different than if you'd give her a bottle," she smiled at my wife gently.
"Sorry," Y/n sighed, "my mom always used to bitch about anyone who would breastfeed in front of other people, I think some of her bullshit still stuck to me even if I wish it didn't."
Laura smiled encouragingly, "nothing to worry about," she grinned, "is she attaching yet?" She questioned.
Y/n smiled tiredly, "yeah, she is," she answered as I passed her our now awake daughter carefully, "she's just not very hungry, she's quite tiny."
Laura nodded, "well, if it makes you feel any better, it took me ages to actually get the boys to attach, but they still preferred the bottle," she shrugged.
Y/n nodded as she pulled Lynn to her chest.
I got up and fetched her nursing blanket, draping it over her so that she would feel more comfortable, "thank you, love."
I smiled down at her and kissed her cheek gently.
Y/n looked back to Laura once more, "now that she's so little I think I'm mostly gonna stick with breastfeeding, but I do want to get her to use the bottle, so she can eat without a problem even if I'm not with her," she chuckled softly, "not that I think I'll be able to actually leave her for a long while."
I smirked, "oh, I'm definitely never leaving her," I shrugged my shoulders, "she won't be allowed to leave the house till she's at least 18."
Y/n shook her head and smiled at Laura, "somehow, for some weird reason, I had a feeling he'd say something like that."
The both of them laughed and I had never felt more lucky; my beautiful family.
