If I'm not mistaken, which I can certainly be, this was requested to me here on wattpad ❤️

I was thinking that Andrew and the main character could be really stressed with work and not spending enough time with their daughter so Andrew has them take the weekend off so they can spend it together.

Andrew's pov

I was sitting at my desk, typing on my laptop when I heard a knock on the door, "come in," I called.

The door opened and Lynn, my daughter, poked her head through, "hey dad," she greeted, "what are you doing?" She whispered.

I shrugged, "just catching up on some work," I explained.

Lynn nodded and sighed softly, "right, I'll leave you to it then," she moved to close the door.

"Wait!" I called out, "what's wrong baby, do you need something?" I questioned.

Lynn shook her head, "nothing dad, don't worry about it," she dismissed, "you can go back to work, I know it's important."

I furrowed my brows, "Lynn, honey, are you okay?" I questioned as I got up, moving towards her.

Lynn nodded, still looking unconvinced, "yeah, I'm fine," she assured.

I stopped her as she tried to move out of the room, "baby seriously, what's going on?" I was starting to get worried.

Lynn huffed, "I told you, nothing's going on, just get back to work and leave me alone!" She raised her voice slightly, surprising the both of us; she sighed, "sorry dad, I didn't mean to yell or be disrespectful," her bottom lip trembled, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," she whispered as she broke down into tears, her knees giving out.

"Whoa," I exclaimed as I caught her before she fell and lowered us both to the ground, my arms wrapping around her trembling frame, "baby, what happened?"

Lynn sniffled, "I'm sorry," she whispered, "it's just been a tough week," she squeaked out, "I didn't mean to yell, I'm sorry."

I caressed her hair gently, "baby stop apologizing, you've got nothing to apologize for," I assured, "do you want to tell me what happened?"

She shook her head against my chest, "you'll get mad."

I furrowed my brows, "Lynn baby, you know I could never be mad at you," I kissed her temple gently.

Lyn chuckled wetly, "not at me," she whispered.

I tilted my head sideways, "what's going on, is someone bothering you at school?" I questioned.

Lynn sighed, "there's this new substitute," she whispered, "it's not blatant, but she keeps making remarks about the fact that I'm bi, which I still can't understand how she found out, and it's not like I'm ashamed of who I am, it's just very overwhelming."

I looked at her sadly, "baby why didn't you tell us?" I questioned.

Lynn sighed, "you and mom have been so busy, I didn't want to burden you."

My heart broke at her confession, "oh baby," I sighed, my lips brushing against her forehead gently, "mom and I will never be too busy for you," I assured.

Lynn nodded, "alright," she whispered softly.

I hugged her tightly, "how about this, tomorrow no work for me and mom and no school for you, it's Friday, we'll make our weekend longer," I suggested, "we can spend some time together, it's been a while since we've done that."

Lynn nodded, "as long as you're sure."

I tilted my head to the side, "about what?" I questioned.

Lynn shrugged, "that there won't be any problems with you and mom taking the day off."

I smiled sadly down at her, "don't you worry baby, alright?" Just be a kid for a day and don't think like an adult," I kissed her temple gently, "there's nothing in this world more important than you."

Lynn smiled up at me and hugged me tighter, "thanks dad, you're the best."

"Hah! I win! Again!" Lyn exclaimed as she threw her remaining card on the coffe table, "you suck at this game dad," she giggled.

I looked at her with my eyes wide open, "how did you—" I turned to look at my wife, "can you believe this?" I questioned, "this is the sixth time!" I exclaimed.

My wife chuckled and kissed my lips softly, "I'm sorry baby, but our daughter's right," she grinned, "you suck at this game."

I huffed and threw my head back, "that's it, I give up," I put my hands up in the air, "there's no way I'll ever win."

"Aw," Lynn cooed and moved to sit next to me, hugging me softly, "don't worry dad, I'll let you win someday."

I huffed as she laughed with my wife, "you women are evil."

"Dad, you need to stay still!" Lynn warned as she swatted my arm.

"Sorry," I apologized, "I'm just not used to it."

My wife snorted, "honey, she's just painting your nails, you're not landing an airplane."

I rolled my eyes, "thank you for your support, my lovely and gentle wife, truly," I sassed.

"Aaaand done!" Lynn exclaimed, "see dad, now we match," she smiled up at me, showing me her nails, painted the same way as mine.

I smiled at her and ruffled her hair gently with my hand with the dry nail polish, "that we do."

Lynn shrieked and moved my hand always, "daddy please can I post a picture on Instagram?," she asked, sporting her best puppy eyes, "not the face though, just our hands, plus you know my profile is private," she clarified.

I chuckled at her familiar ranting, "sure honey, no problem."

Lynn's already big smiled brightened, "thanks dad," she grinned, "okay, put your hands down, mom come here, you too."

My wife joined us and Lynn snapped a few pictures of our hands, one from each member of the family.

Now, I never liked being on social media, and usually I ask Lynn and y/n to keep me out of the pictures they post, but the smile on my daughter's face changed everything for me.

"Have you got the piece of an eye perhaps?"

"Dad, just so you know, without context that sentence seems very weird," she laughed, "here," she said as she handed me the piece of puzzle I was looking for.

I chuckled and thanked her, "I guess your right," I said as I picked up the final piece of our Harry Potter 1000 pieces puzzle, "you wanna do the honors, my lady?"

Lynn smiled and pretende to curtsy, "why thank you, you kind sir," she giggled as she picked up the piece and put it in its place, "done!" She exclaimed, clapping her hands excitedly, "we did it dad! I can't believe we did it!" She threw herself at me and hugged me tightly, "oh daddy, you don't know how happy you just made me," she sniffled, hugging me even tighter.

I rubbed her back and shoulders soothingly, "baby what's wrong?" I questioned in a whisper, my tone worried and concerned.

Lynn shook her head, "nothings wrong, I'm just happy we got to spend some time together, just us, just family," she whispered, "I love you so much daddy."

I sniffled and kissed the top of her head gently, "I love you too baby, so so much."
