Let me tell you, being a lawyer has got to be one of the most fucking crazy jobs in the world.

I limped over the door to my apartment, my heels killing my poor feet, the suit I was wearing way too uncomfortable and the pouring rain outside that basically made me look like a wet cat didn't help either.

I opened up my purse and groaned loudly when I realized my keys weren't there; I reached into my work bag in hopes to find them there, but luck seemed not to be on my side today.

The bag was so full that the second I opened it, every single folder fell onto the floor with a loud thud; I had just scrambled onto the floor to pick them up when I suddenly heard the door open.

I looked up and saw my fiancé staring down at me with a concerned face; he looked down and, once he saw the papers, immediately crouched down to help me.

"What happened?" He asked as he piled up some folders.

I sighed heavily through my nose and closed my eyes, "nothing, just a very shitty day at work," I said.

Andrew stopped tidying the papers and looked up at me; he reached his hand out and swiped his thumb under my eye, "you got some mascara here," he said as he repeated the action under the other eye, "did you cry?" He asked softly.

I chuckled dryly, "fucking walked 8 eight miles under the pouring rain," I snorted, "oh, and yeah, I also cried in one of the bathroom stalls of the court."

"8 miles?" Andrew exclaimed, eyes wide, "why on earth didn't you call me, I would have picked you up!" He asked.

I shrugged, "I thought you'd be at work, didn't want to bother you."

Andrew sighed softly, "I wasn't, there were some problems with the props and we were sent home earlier," he told me, "and you wouldn't have bothered me either way," he assured me.

I nodded as I looked down at my work scattered all over the floor.

"Okay," said Andrew, standing up and holding his hand out to me, "you go inside and take off those wet clothes while I sort this out, watch out for Padfoot," he told me as he kissed my lips shortly.

I smiled tiredly and entered our apartment, instantly being greeted by our dog, who jumped on my legs to try and lick my cheek, ending up licking my neck instead; I chuckled and slowly pushed him off me, "sorry, Pads, I promise I'll cuddle you later," I said as I patted his head affectionately.

Andrew came in too a few moments later, closing the door behind him, "told ya," he chuckled.

I smiled at him as I made my way over to him; his brows furrowed slight as he looked up from setting my papers on the kitchen counter, "why are you limping?" He asked worriedly as he pushed my shoulder to sit down onto a chair, kneeling down in front of me.

I hissed slightly as Andrew slowly took a hold of my injured foot to inspect it; he mumbled an apology as he looked up at me questioningly, "I fell down the stairs at work today, I didn't think any of it at the beginning, but I guess walking around in heels all day while being injured probably wasn't the best idea," I explained.
