Dark night of the soul

Chapter 3

(Jessica Lange will be in her late forties in this story because of certain events that come up so please remember!)
*Jess's POV*
we get back to our home, and walk inside. I've been worried about her all night, now I'm even more worried. She has a cut on her head and blood running down her face. She's clenching onto her stomach and there's blood on the skirt of her dress.
"Sar, what happened? I'm so worried about you" I say, she pulls me over to the island in the middle of the kitchen, and sits me down, she pulls a chair up and sits opposite me.
"Last night, after Paleyfest I decided to walk home, which you know already, I don't know why, I just needed to get away, and a man came up to me, and he was drunk. Then..." She starts to cry, I embrace her tightly, and she rests her head on my chest. "Jess, he raped me" she cried even harder. "I've got you, I won't let anyone hurt you anymore, you're safe now" I try to calm her down, I stroke her hair with one hand, and with the other I rub her back.
I take her to the bathroom and to clean up her wound. She winces at the pain. Once I'm finished, I change her clothes so she is wearing a striped top and joggers and I take her to the couch and make her some breakfast.
Her eyes are black from lack of sleep, and she's hardly talking, I don't expect her to, I just want her to be okay.
I hand her the food, and she picks at it a little, she eats it slowly.
I go to the kitchen, and call the police.
"Hello, this is New York police department, how can I help you?" A polite woman asks. "Hello, last night my wife didn't come home, she's home now but she was raped, do I need to come to the police station?" I ask quite nervously, "I can send two officers out to your home now if you like?" She asks "please" I reply "okay, can I please have yours and your girlfriends name and address please"
I give her our details and she tell me there will be two officers coming over in around half an hour.
