Chapter 72

Sarah's POV
it's been five days since Hamish walked out on Lil and he still hasn't come back. She has been staying at ours for a week now and she's still a mess. She cries herself to sleep at night, she won't stop drinking wine, she's binging, I don't know how to help her, the only bad break up I've ever had was with cherry and Lil was the one who helped me through it.
"Lil come on babe, what did you tell me when Cherry ended it with me huh? You told me to keep my head high and to not let anything get me down. I want you to do that too Lil, because you know what, you're so much better than Hamish by far. Look at you, you're beautiful, talented, kind hearted and a great friend. I want you to forget about the past and just look ahead to the future, you never know who will walk into your life okay? So come on, you're having a shower, getting dressed and we're going out for a drive and we can do whatever you want, I'm here to help Rabe" I say looking her straight in the eye.
Then out of nowhere so leans in and kisses me. I pull away quickly, I'm gobsmacked. "I-I'm so sorry Sar, I don't know why I did that, please don't let it ruin our friendship i was just in the heat of the moment ple-" I cut her off. "Don't worry about it Lil, you're in a bad position right now, I completely understand, come on go take a shower and I'll make some lunch to take with us" I say. She hugs me. "Thankyou Sar" she whispers then walks up the stairs.

I walk into the kitchen and begin to make lunch. Then I feel wetness between my legs. I look down to the floor to see a puddle of water. Shit! My water has broken.
"Argh" I lean over when I feel a sharp pain in my stomach. "LIL!" I shout. I hear the shower on. She won't be able to hear me. "LILY!" I shout again but she didn't answer. There was no use. I reach for my phone and I dial and ambulance. "911 what is your emergency?" Someone answers. "Hello I'm in labour" I say. "Okay ma'am calm down we are sending an ambulance right away" she says. I give her my address and I hang up.
I hear the shower turn off. "LILY!" I shout. "WHATS WRONG!" She shouts back. "IM HAVING A BABY!" I shout. "I KNOW SILLY!" She laughs. "OH MY GOD NO LIL I MEAN IM IN LABOUR!" I shout. I hear her running down the stairs.
"Shit shit shit shit" she says. "Okay just calm down, it will be fine just breathe in and out" she says calming me.
She picks up her phone and dials Jessie's number. At first she doesn't pick up but the second time Lily calls her she answers. "Meet us at the hospital Jess Sarah is in labour!" She says excitedly.
Five minutes later Lily opens the door for the paramedics.
The drive us to the hospital and a nurse rushes up to me with a wheel chair and they take me into a room. I see Jess on my way and she follows. "It's okay baby you're going to be okay" she says with a huge smile on her face.
