His laughter slashed through the air, a cruel blend of mockery and triumph that pierced my heart like a thousand knives. Bai Longwang, wearing a triumphant expression in his human form, relished the chance to lay bare painful truths. I turned to the Demon King, silently pleading for a denial or a word of forgiveness. His unsettling silence, however, felt like an unrelenting assault, each moment driving a dagger deeper into my soul.

"Listen to the screams and smell the stench of blood from demons and celestials below. That war was a thousand times more devastating. Because of you, demons and humans were destroyed, mere shadows of their glorious past. Your sacrifice that day gave us tens of thousands of years of uncontested supremacy," Bai Longwang declared, his words a venomous dagger.

"It is true. That day, the blood of humans and demons filled the Yellow River. The cries of the few that remained echoed as bodies stacked high into the heavens. But, Jiang Meng, it's in the past. Now you have the chance to redeem yourself. You must help us, even if it means sacrificing yourself again. It is the only way," Bai Mingling said.

Seeing my silence as a sign of wavering spirit, Bai Longwang tried to sway me. "Do not listen to her. These creatures are using you. Only I care about you without any other intentions. My love for you is pure and lasts for eternity. My peach blossom, come back to me. Come and leave this filthy place."

An unsettling feeling crawled over my body after those words. I turned my back to him and silently stared at the Demon King's frosty stance. His eyes seemed lost in the memories of that day. I blinked away the tears that started to form and swallowed my next words.

"Say something," Bai Mingling pleaded.

"Because of my sacrifice, the balance of power and harmony between the three realms was lost. I want to regret it, but I cannot control or change the past. I can only fix the present. I believe that our agreement still stands. So, Demon King, don't forget your promise," I said, masking pain and guilt beneath a calm exterior.

Before he could respond, I unleashed my powers toward him, the energy streaming at an unprecedented rate.

"No!" he exclaimed, hastily shielding himself. "Jiang Meng, even if you died again, you cannot make up for your sins." I winced at his callous words but urged him, "Do it!"

Doubling down on my energy, I fortified his barrier and healed every demon under its protection. The battlefield transformed, a radiant aura emanating from the reinforced barrier. Unable to resist the force channeling through him, the Demon King raised his hands, redirecting the amassed power toward the enemy in a formidable stream.

Bai Longwang attempted to evade, but the unleashed power split into multiple directions, relentless as arrows pursuing their target. The battlefield turned into a chaotic dance of power, with Bai Longwang desperately evading the relentless streams of destructive force. Each evasion seemed more desperate than the last as the concentrated power pursued him with unwavering determination. The once-silent Demon King now displayed controlled power, and Bai Mingling joined the fray, launching her attacks.

Bai Longwang transformed back into the gigantic white dragon, wielding powers capable of subduing gods and demons. His tail shattered the Demon King's barrier, invisible shards slicing through me as my powers recoiled. The dragon reversed poisonous arrows, aiming straight for the demon's heart. Bai Mingling flew forward, blocking and diverting as many arrows as possible, but many struck past her, slicing through armor and flesh.

The Demon King roared, transforming into his true form—a magnificent phoenix burning with blue flames, incinerating everything. The phoenix and dragon engaged in a fierce battle, elemental forces clashing and shaking the demon realm. I flew backward to avoid the fire but kept my powers concentrated on him and the barrier.
